Chapter 3 | Bad Boys Over Bad Guys
I changed into my work out clothes and tied a jacket by my waist. I decided to leave a note on the kitchen island for mom and Brianna.
Out for a run around the park. Call me if you need me - Blake
I put my earphones in and jog to the park, taking in the view of the houses and the street. I was so indulged in my surroundings and the music playing in my ears that I realized I was a bit ahead of where I had to turn. I decided to take the first right and then follow the road ahead.
I reached the park but realized I was at some other end of it so I started to run along it until I find a familiar spot.
I heard people yelling and whistling from afar. From the corner of my eyes I saw a few teenagers standing there.
They started to follow me so I quickened my pace. I saw two running next to me a few feet away and I turned to see three behind me.
They were catching up by now so I bolted as fast as I could behind a house and kept running while turning so they wouldn't see where I went.
I hid behind a shed of one of the houses as I watched the boys run forward looking for me. Thinking it was a good time to run back I turned around and realized I didn't know where to go. I looked at the empty street and pulled out my phone.
Just as I was about to call Brianna I heard someone behind me.
I turned around to see it was one of the boy who chased me.
"Alec, Jordan, I found her!" he yelled.
"Go away you douchebag" I said taking a few steps back.
"Why, hot stuff?" he smirked and eyed my body.
"Thanks for finding little red," another boy came from my left. I threw them a disgusted look but it had no effect.
They started to move closer to me so I ran again trying to outrun them but two of the boys grabbed my hand quickly.
"Where do you think you're going little red?" One of them tighten his grip on me but I kept struggling.
I managed to kick one hard in the stomach and he let go but the other guy didn't let go of me and pulled me towards his chest. He held onto both of my hands tight. The only thing between us.
"Shhh...we just wanna play with you, little red." he looked at my lips and bit his lip.
I quickly bit his hand forcing him to let go but another boy came from behind me and held onto my waist while another took hold of my hands.
I kept kicking and screaming for help but nobody came to help and then one of them slapped my face hard and covered my mouth with his hand.
"Austin get the car now!" he yelled to one of the boys while I kept struggling.
A car pulled up within seconds and they started to shove me there. They nearly sat me in their car when I jumped out on the sidewalk but they drag me.
Suddenly I heard another car stop towards us.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing!" a familiar voice said.
My face was pressed on the sidewalk as someone pulled me down. "HELP! HELP ME!" I managed to scream before my body felt numb.
The boy holding me down got up and I heard punching sounds. The boys stopped fighting and then after exchanging dialogue they drove away.
"Hey, are you okay?" someone pulled up for the ground. Holding onto me gently. I opened my eyes to see Luke. He had blood on his face.
"I'm fine...I think." My body felt numb but a pain travelled through me. I rubbed random parts hoping it would ease the pain that was sinking in.
"I've got you now. They're gone. You're safe with me." He then put his arm around my torso and legs and picked me up and put me in his car.
My mind was still spinning from everything that happened. I opened my eyes and looked at Luke, who put a blanket over me.
"Blake, are you hurt? Did they do something?" he cupped my cheeks in his hands and stared into my eyes.
"No, you saved me." I said breathing deeply.
The car was still in the middle of the road. Like was rubbing my hands trying to make me feel better. "If mom sees me like this.thi.." I trailed off thinking about how worried she would be.
I pulled out my phone and rang Brianna. "Brianna, is mom home?" I called Brianna who was home.
"I don't know Blake, let me sleep." Her voice sounded heavy.
"Please just tell me!" I exclaimed.
I could tell she was getting up to check because of the weird sounds. "Moms leaving in twenty minutes, why did you ask?" she said in an annoyed tone.
"No reason. Go back to sleep. Thanks" I put the phone down and turned to Luke.
He raised an eyebrow at me and gave me an amused look. "What?" I asked before he shook his head and turned the other way.
"Can you drop me home in twenty minutes?"
Luke nodded his head to my question and started to drive.
"So, what were you going?" I asked him realizing its half past six now. I didn't mind sounding nosey if it was to get rid of the awkward silence between us.
"I got a call from Bellamy, he was pranking someone we know and got caught so I have to get him out of jail now". He answered truthfully.
Jail wasn't something new to me. If you party or do crazy things you're bound to get arrested.
"Oh, that's too bad." I said staring out the window. I also didn't want to be reminded of unpleasant things from the past.
"You seem okay with that. Have you ever been arrested?" he looked at me, forcing a smirk.
"Twice for pranking my ex. It was my dads idea so I didn't get in trouble." I smiled at the memory but the pain in my arms diverted my thoughts again and I was glad for that.
While Luke went to get Bellamy I stayed in the car. There were slight marks on my arms because of that douchebag's grip. My elbow was slightly scrapped too.
I picked up my jacket from the back seat and brushed the dirt off and zipped it up on me. The last thing I needed was Bellamy to comment on my sports bra.
Bellamy sat at the back and didn't say anything the entire ride home except for saying hi. I figured Luke told him something when they walked to the car and he look super drunk.
When we reached it was clear mom had left because her car wasn't in the driveway. I thanked Luke and gave him a kiss on his cheek and thanked him.
Bellamy was looking at me very closely so I turned to him and offered him a small smile. "You look like shit." He commented.
I was too tired to say anything to him. Ignoring seemed like the best option.
"But still so beautiful," He added.
For some reason a goofy grin plastered itself on my face as I made my way out of the car and towards my house but as I held the doorknob, I got rid of it.
Brianna opened the door almost immediately as I rang the bell. "What happened?" She asked but I ran straight to my room and told her I'll come downstairs when I feel like it.
After taking a long hot bath, I finally felt better. The images of them harassing me still played in my mind so I sunk into my bed listening to soft music playing in the background. Trying to fall asleep.
I woke up to candy all over my bed, all around me. I grinned looking at everything. I quickly picked up a packet of gummy bears and started eating.
I made my way downstairs to see Bellamy and Luke sitting with Brianna in the kitchen.
"I'm guessing you like what we did." Bellamy said with a smile on his face.
"Yes, I did, thank you!" I hugged all three of them and sat next to Brianna.
"Do you know what day it is?" Brianna asked excitedly.
"What?" I asked as I blankly stared at her.
"It's Sunday!" she cheered. I still couldn't tell why we were supposed to be excited about this. I gave a questioning look to her while raising my brow.
"Tomorrow is the first day of senior year Blake! It'll be so cool! You're going to love it here." Brianna's excitement was bursting out of her.
"It's funny coming from you Bri. Mandy has been controlling you since freshmen year until last semester of Junior year." Luke pointed out.
"I like to think about the positives Luke." She glared at him.
"Mandy who?" I asked.
The three of them looked at me like I grew another head until I think realization hit them and their facial expression sobered up.
"No one important." Bellamy said bluntly. "She's just a typical clingy bitch."
Brianna shot me a look which clearly meant that I should drop the topic. I would have anyway considering the furious face Bellamy had. Yet so gorgeous...
"I still don't get why I have to be excited." My directed back to the topic.
"Because you'll be a cheer leader and on the second highest level since the captain has to be on the top" she flicked her blonde her back jokingly.
"Well I'm not into cheer leading. Not anymore at least. I was thinking of joining the dance team or something. I need a change." I sighed.
Brianna frowned like a little girl. "Why?"
"Dad always watched my cheer leading competitions. I can't do it without him in the crowd. And don't get spiritual with me because I get anxiety attacks sometimes." I told them.
"Who will cheer for me at games then?" Bellamy frowned.
"I'll be sitting on the bleachers cheering for you guys plus the great Brianna will be there obviously." I rolled my eyes and chucked a few gummy bears in my mouth.
After a few hours of random conversations Bellamy and Luke left so me and Brianna decided to gossip, well we only talked about the people I'll see at school. Who's who and all that stuff. Once we were tried of that we simply played season one of The Vampire Diaries and watched until we ran out of popcorn.
I was glad that a bad day turned good.
