Chapter 27 | I Spy

I never thought I would be spying on my parent but then again I was dressed in black as equally as Brianna.

"Black hoodies, black sunglasses and black snapbacks..." Brianna announced as we sat in the car.

I found myself answering with a "check" after every item that she listed. Finally, after ten minutes we drove to the hospital where mom was supposed to leave according to her actual schedule.

"So other than being the man that sort of ruin our lives-" I was interrupted by Brianna.

"Sort of?" she repeated as she narrowed her eyes at me for a short glare before fixating her eyes back on the doors.

I cleared my throat. There was no point in lying so I went with the truth and hoped Brianna wouldn't be offended.

"Well, I never felt like I missed something when I was living with dad. He was my world and I don't remember craving a mother or sister. I'm sorry but I guess he gave it his all to keep me happy." I explained.

She react, not physically. "I wish I knew him, I swear mom wasn't always like this. I just, I did feel incomplete and I wished forms perfect family almost all the time." She said.

I squeezed her hand and gave her s kiss on my cheek. "I have to take more advantage of this. You'd do anything for your baby sister, right?" I laughed as she pushed me away.

"You're hella annoying," she told me.

"There!" Brianna pointed to the door before reaching for something. I saw mom walk out of the hospital doors. We had for wait for here to get her car and spot her again. It was probably the hardest part because of the traffic nearby.

Brianna fished outta pair of binoculars. "You're so extra." I told her. She shrugged and found mom.

I was driving Brianna's car while she managed the "gadgets". I made enough fun of her in the first half an hour of our mission to ruin the atmosphere around us. She could kill me anytime but I knew it was just a show, it better be.

We followed our mom to a house. We parked a few houses away and as soon as she entered the house, we climbed out of the car and sneakily ran towards the house in broad daylight.

We searched the windows until we found one where we could see three figures roam inside. The woman was easily identified because she was our mother. The other two were a man and a young boy.

"I'm sure that's Harrison and his son." Brianna told me.

"Okay but how do you know it's not a friendly visit? They won't do anything in front of that kid right?" I asked her with an unsettling feeling.

We stood there until our legs gave in. The boy had left but the adults remained seated on a couch often getting too close too each other.

"I can't do this anymore. Let's go home and confront her when she comes. This is ridiculous." I dragged Brianna back to the car.

"Lets grab a bite. All this spying made me hungry." Brianna said as we pulled up at the diner.

She went for a salad while I wanted to stuff my face with a cheese burger.

"This whole mom situation is so confusing." I said as we waited at a booth. "She's clearly neglecting us to romance with some not so hot dad. I thought I would puke when they nearly kissed and what that kid? The last thing I want is to babysit some teen who is going through puberty. EW."

"Okay, don't overreact. Ice we confront her, we'll tell her to draw a fine line between them and us. She has to give each of us equal time and there's no way I'm babysitting anyone. I have plans okay as so do you. Me and Eliza are pushing coach to get us on the cheerleading competition that's in a few days. Apparently our dumb principal doesn't believe in cheerleading and you have your dance thing too. We take give away precious time to some kid." she argued.

"You're right, you need that cheerleading to show Mandy once and for all that you deserve your position. There's no way coach will have second thoughts about you after that. You already minimized hazing, however you managed to do that." I said.

"You didn't mention your theatre stuff." she narrowed her eyes at me. I had to tell her now.

"I called them," I sighed. "And they told me they would get back to me in a few days." I stated.

Her eyes practically popped outwards and her brows shot up.

"What? Are they ditching you? They can't do that! You were perfect in the last few performances." She blabbered on for a while longer as I watched her. I think I took this news better than her.

"Calm down, you're making me lose hope. They won't do this is to me." I said. They couldn't.

"Hey girls," I looked up to see Harry and Luke standing by our table. I'm guessing Harry didn't get the memo because he slid in beside Brianna.

Me and Luke had an awkward stare moment. I hated this. I was mad at him but at the same time I wasn't being honest with him but I was trying so I was less at fault, right?

Brianna cleared her throat and we looked at her. She opened her mouth to say something Luke spoke before she could.

"Can I talk to you, alone." He gestured towards the door. Brianna gave me a look but I gave her a small smile to reassure her. "We won't be long." I told them before walking outside.

We sat at a bench nearby and I waited for him to speak.

"I shouldn't have done that to you." He said. I quietly nodded my head looking straight ahead. "You don't deserve this and I screwed up. I guess I was never ready for a relationship." He added.

"That day, I kissed Keith, I won't lie but I didn't do anything after that and I came to your house because I couldn't cheat on you like that but what happened next..." I let out a dry laugh. It hurt, he hurt me and right now, I couldn't push those feelings away.

"I waited at your house for hours just listening to one lie after another about your whereabouts. I texted you the address and decided to go to the restaurant and wait for you there. I wanted to make things right but you were a no show. That girl you saw, I met her there. I was pissed and I don't know how but we ended up in bed together. I swear it was a meaningless fuck." He explained.

I didn't want to hear the story. I didn't need to either because now, it was my fault too. He's a player, he's bound to do that whenever he feels off. He told me that. I went over his words until I stumbled on something.

"What do you mean make things right? We were doing just fine." I said.

"Blake," he out his hand on mine and I raised my brow at him and slowly moved my hand away. "This wasn't the first time."

I was angry, really angry. "What?" I blurted out when I couldn't find the right words.

"I don't know why I did it but I just did. It was only one time. I swear I was going to tell you the other day. I'm sorry."

Was this even Luke?

"I get it, you did everything to have sex with me didn't you? I was going to be another one of your meaningless fucks or did you plan on making me your fuck buddy?" I stood up because if I stayed a minute longer, I would've started shouting and creating a scene in public and he definitely wasn't worth it.

"No, I swear its not like that. I liked you. I just screwed up okay? I'm sorry Blake. I'm not asking you for anything more than forgiveness." He pleaded.

"You won't be getting anything from me Luke. Maybe I would've forgiven you if you didn't do the one thing you wanted to apologize for on the same day." I said.

I turned on my heel to head back in the diner but Brianna came outside instead as quickly led me to her care after giving Luke a glare.

"Forget everything, lets call it a girls night." In the next few minutes we arrived at Natasha's house since it was the closest to us. Luckily it was just us girls there. Eliza came half an hour later with ice cream and chick flicks to watch.

"I knew this would happen. You can't change a player but does Brianna ever listen? No." Eliza said as she handed me a tub of Ben and Jerry's.

"It's all my fault. I'm the stupid one who agreed to it." I said.

"It is and isn't but think about now, you have Keith." Natasha said. Eliza quickly paused the movie and turned to me.

"What did you just say? He and her are a thing?" she was beyond shock. Natasha nodded her head causing both Brianna and Eliza to glare at me.

"You didn't tell me!" Brianna kept her stare.

"Shut up Nat, we are not a thing, okay." I shook my head and downed spoonfuls of ice cream.

"You slept with him and then you kissed him yesterday. I saw it and it wasn't just a normal kiss okay. You still like him." She said.

"First of all, I only slept in his bed. We had our clothes on and there was a fair gap between us. And second of all, it was in be heat of the moment I guess. It's my a big deal." I shrugged.

"Everything is a big deal when it comes to Keith. He doesn't date girls our age. I mean he's into college girls - like real college girls." Eliza explained excitedly.

I rolled my eyes at her.

"And you two have some weird bond thing too." Brianna said. She went on to tell Eliza a shorter version of how I met Keith and by the end of it I was flooded with questions.

"I'm not describing my first time to anyone." I declared and Eliza frowned.

"But he's Keith. He's everyone dream." she clearly had a huge crush on him.

"Yea, but I don't want to know about my brothers sex life. It's gross enough that I've heard him and seen his whores walk out of his room." She said. I nearly choked on my ice cream while the others didn't seem frazzled by the information.

"Don't you parents say anything?" I asked.

"Nope, he's an adult. He's allowed or something like that. My parents just want him living with us so they made an agreement." She explained.

"Would you look at that, Blake's completely normal now." Brianna drawled and poked me. "Oh Keith, you complete me." She said in a fake tone. I swatted her hand away yelled at her.

"That's so not me." I told her as I pushed her off the bed. We laughed for a while until we heard a loud bang.

"What the hell was that?" Natasha asked us. We shrugged in response. "It's your house." I said.

Another bang sound and we all jumped at the noise.

"Nat, go check what it is." Eliza said in a panicked tone. "No way!" Natasha said.

"Guys, get under the bed." Brianna instructed. "Oh come on, its nothing." I laughed but I stopped when I heard another bang sound. We immediately crawled under the bed but we couldn't fit.

"You two go check what it is or hide somewhere else." Natasha whispered to me and my sister.

"Why? Its your stupid house." I argued.

"You two called it a girls night. Now go." Eliza tried to push us outside of the bed. "You're even dressed for the occasion." She muttered. Natasha tried to stifle a laugh while I followed Brianna towards the door.

We carefully opened the door, making sure it doesn't make a creaking sound. We heard footsteps from downstairs but we weren't sure who it was. It could just be Keith or her parents.

Another loud bang came and quickly closed the door. A bit too loud. Shit.

"What is it?" Natasha asked from under the bed. Eliza crawled out and Natasha followed behind.

"I don't know. Somebody's downstairs and thanks to you they know someone's up here." I pointed an accusing finger at Brianna.

"Me? You're the one who jumped and pushed it close." She argued.

"Shut up and run," Natasha said.

We opened the door again and crept around the hallway. The lights turned off and the footsteps downstairs became more loud, they were coming up the stairs. With the little light inside, we ran towards the storage closet but me and Eliza couldn't make it on time.

Someone pulled me down and I fell face first on the ground and strong large arms wrapped around me instantly. I opened my eyes as I struggled and screamed and I noticed someone reaching for Eliza and pulling her away too.

We screamed but it was of no use. The wind outside was strong and made whistle sounds. I doubt anyone would hear us.

"We'll be back for the two of you," one of the intruders said. It was directed for Natasha and Brianna.

My heart pounded against my chest. I felt like it would leap out because I was just so afraid. Yet I tried everything to be released but I was too weak. The man covered my mouth so I couldn't scream. Me and Eliza only mumbled now.

I hadn't gotten a glimpse of the two intruders and I was dying to know who it was. There were too many people to point a finger at but I hoped that it wasn't Trace because the voice sounded familiar.

As we were brought down the stairs I found the opportunity to bite the person. We were close to the door and maybe we my scream could be heard.

I bit down as hard as possible and the man quickly winced and removed his hand.

"God, where did you learn to bite princess?"

That was it.

"Shit man," the other said.

Keith and Derek. The intruders.

They let go and me and Eliza hit both of them before calling the others down. It was still dark but Brianna used the flash on her phone to guide Derek to the mains to turn the electricity back now. All of us girls followed her while holding hands.

I was still in a state of shock.

"It was a prank." Derek told us but he only had to listen to a bunch of colorful words from the girls.

The police came as we sat in the living room. I kept my head down and tried to rub away the rub that was slowly trickling down my nose. Brianna hugged me tightly and I felt an urge to cry.

She had to leave to talk to the officers and Keith took it as an opportunity to sit next to me instead. I tuned him off and focus on Brianna. She was lying to the police and Eliza and Derek nodded at her from time to time. I doubt they told them it was a prank.

The officer made eye contact with me and I quickly looked down to avoid him but he walked towards me.

"Are you alright ma'am?" He asked. I slowly nodded my head.

"She's fine, just a bit scared." Keith told him as he out his arm around me.

I waited for the cops to leave before I exploded.

"How could you do this? You think pranking us like this was funny?" Are you fucking five? After everything we've been through, everything that Ive been through, you found this humorous?" I slapped him twice before I slapped Derek too and walked towards the door.

I burst out in sobs and I held into my myself tightly. My nose was hurting but at least it wasn't bleeding anymore. I felt Keith's presence and I felt even more angry.

"I hate you so much!" I said before breaking down into more tears.

Flashes of the torture I've been through with Trace came into my mind. Memories of my helpless self being pushed around, abused and molested played in my head.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't think this would happen. I swear I didn't." He hugged me tightly. "Princess, I swear I won't do this. It was Derek stupid idea and I don't know why I agreed. "

"Well I broke my nose thanks to the two of you." I said after a long while of crying into his chest.

We both had a soft spot for each other and I was sure mine was bigger because I accepted his apology and followed him to the kitchen where a first aid box was waiting.

"You broke my nose." I told him as he placed me on the counter. He closely look examined it.

"Thank god its not." He kissed the tip before wiping of the blood. "But I'll still break Derek's." He said as he finished up.

"As long as he does the same to yours. I hate you both." I said.

"No you don't hate me and you get treat for bring a good patient." He patted my head and brought a chocolate bar from the fridge.

I accepted it and smiled. "I thought it was Trace. Sometimes I feel like he's watching me. As if he's doing me to forget and when my guards completely down, he'll come back and scar me so deep that I..."

I broke out in more tears and Keith held me tightly in his arms. If only the gesture made all the pain go away...

"I need to go home." I said as I wiped my tears. Keith looked really guilty but I didn't have the strength to make it different.

"The weather is really bad. Just crash here for the night. You can sleep in my bed." He offered.  I shook my head and called Brianna. Unfortunately we decided to stay but I wasn't up for the girls night thing.

"Hey, I'm sorry about your nose. I swear I didn't mean to hurt you. You guys just had the best reaction and I couldn't help but get more excited and I accidently tripped you over. I mean it's alright, right? You're a tough chick." Derek apologized.

"You suck." I muttered and went to the girls.

"You alright?" Eliza asked. I nodded my head. "Can we go back to watching chickflicks?" I asked them and they happily agreed.

Keith was forcefully cuddling with me but I kept a straight face and ignored him. Derek kept groaning at our movie choices so we made sure to put on the most annoying shit we had.

The next morning I felt a bit better. I woke up a few times during the night but I felt fresh this morning. Since the boys were still asleep when we woke up, we decided to have some fun.

We gotta bucket of snow each and at the count of three, dumped it on the two boys.

They let out a string of curse words as we laughed. Our second plan was to run before they could get us so sprinted out of the house. Toby was waiting in the driveway for Natasha while me, Brianna and Eliza hurried into our carcass locked the doors. Keith and Derek came running for us but ended up freezing in the cold as we waved at them and drove off.

"You need to get Harry on our side." I told Eliza.

"He's already on it." She winked and showed me her messages with him.

After dropping her home we headed to ours. Mom's car was still in the driveway and me and Brianna shared a look before walking inside.

"Hey girls, how was girls night?" mom asked as we filed into the family room.

"Great, how was your day, anything special?" I asked. "Yea, we checked by the hospital but you weren't there. If your shift ended early, why didn't you come home?" Brianna inquired.

"Uh, what were you girls doing at the hospital?" she asked, completely ignoring eventing else.

"We came to see you so where were you?" I cut to the chase.

"That's no way to talk to your mom, young lady." She said in a stern voice. I fought the urge to roll my eyes but but I sighed loudly and glanced at Brianna.

She placed her hands on her hips and looked straight into mom's eyes. "We saw you with Harrison. You're neglecting your kids to be with him. That good for nothing man. Mom, I thought you were done with him so what happened?" she asked.

"Sweetie, I was going to tell you but I just...I couldn't do it with Blake around."

"I'm right here you know." I told her.

"Blake, I just didn't know how I would break the news to you. I don't know about your father but I've moved on from him," she explained.

I didn't know I was angry until my clenched fists started to hurt.

"Since the day we moved out, right?" I  said bitterly.

"No—"

"Cut the crap and fill in Brianna. I'm so done with this." I stood up and marched to my room.

I heard her scold me from behind but I tuned her out. She cheated on my dad. I couldn't bare that.

After two days and multiple conversations with Brianna, I decided to come out of my room. Me and mom didn't speak a word to each other. She was watching me but I avoided eye contact and a conversation. She seemed to spend time at home more though, her car was in the driveway for a longer time but I knew that didn't affect her relationship.

Once she lift, I decided to call Bellamy. He picked up on the third ring as I paced up and down the hallway.

"Hey, I hope I didn't bother you." I said.

He cleared his throat but his voice still came out raspy, I probably woke him up. "Hi, uh, you didn't. I was uh, I was just doing nothing, you know."

"Oh, I just called to um, ask you if you were doing anything...today?" I sounded like s complete weirdo and I cringed at myself for not thinking before dialing his number. His voice was awfully distracting because my mind was going to places and imagining things I shouldn't be.

"I'm free tonight, I mean I was just going to a party, you can come with." He offered.

I bit my lip to hold back a smile but realized no one was watching me so I smiled like the Cheshire cat.

"I wouldn't want to crash—"

"No, I was looking for my plus one and you seem like you could use some cheering up."

I really needed to do something about my feelings for him.

"Okay but you don't have to take me, you know." I let out a small laugh.

"I do and I'll pick you up at seven. I have to go now, bye." he churped and the line clicked.

I sighed and leaned against the wall. What if I actually tell him my feelings?

"Who, Keith?" Brianna asked.

I mentally groaned before shaking my head. "It's not important." I told her before walking to my room.

"Feelings are important Blakey. Don't keep them in that long." She said before I slammed the door shut.

Now I just had to find the perfect outfit and get dressed.

I didn't want to look like was trying too hard so while did my make up and hair, I asked Brianna to pick out of outfit from a few I already selected.

"Who are you going with anyway? Im already offended by the fact that I wasn't invited to any party and I'm invited to all of them."

She was right. Miss popular was invited to a lot more things than just parties.

"I just going to one with Bellamy. He just told me hell pick me up at seven." I told her.

"Oh, so that's who you're trying to impress. Go for it Blake, the odds are in your favor." she patted my shoulder and put a few things in my lap.

"I don't really think I can do it. Especially if I see Keith's face. I'm just so confused right now. When I'm with Bellamy it's like it's just me and him but then Keith comes into the picture and I'm not sure about who I want."

"I think it's a twin thing, I felt the Sam way once or twice or maybe more times andros know what I did?" she said.

I shrugged and waited for an answer.

"I dated all of them at the same time and I realized none of them were worth it. I was just infatuated with them for certain things they did." She explained.

I sighed. "You couldn't have found that out by dating them one at a time?" I laughed.

"A, that would've been too much time consuming and B, I was comparing them." She said

I laughed hardercthan before and she joined in.

"That's the worst possible advice you could give."

I shook my head and checked out what she picked for me.

The outfit completely black. Tights, a zip up mini skirt and a sheer top. It was amazing considering she rummaged through my closet to find the shirt and leggings.

"You sure about this?" I said looking at the clothes. "Yup, just don't get too drunk." She winked and left my room.

I was greeted by a low whistle from both the boys. For some reason I wasn't surprised to see Keith in the car with Bellamy. I rolled my eyes at both the boys and sat in the backseat.

"You look sexy," Keith commented. "Thanks." I curtly replied. He frowned at me while Bellamy chuckled as he eyed me from the rear view mirror.

We parked at the end of the street and walked to the house. Lucky for me, Keith give me his jacket since it was freezing outside. I took his hand and Bellamy led us inside. It was wild. People were already puking in the corners. I noticed some doing drugs while others were clearly in on them.

It reminded me if the party where I met Keith. My grip around his hand tightened because although I wanted to have fun, I wanted to be safe too.

That didn't stop me from taking a cup of alcohol from a guy with a tray full of blur and red cups. I took a sip and the hard alcohol burnt my throat. I grimaced at the taste and nudged Keith's arm with the cup as we walked somewhere.

"What the hell is this?" I asked him. I put it to his mouth so he would drink it instead of smell it and he seemed to like it.

"It's a mixture of lots of shit. I'm taking it." He took the cup from me and downed it by the time we reached the end of the hallway. It opened into a hall where there were two poles that were occupied and an audience around them. The rest was just a place to dance with a bar on the side.

"I'll be back." Bellamy told us.. When his back Ws towards us Keith turned to me and said the same thing before walking away too. I decided to get myself a drink and dance around.

I took eight shots and hit the dance floor. In no time I found myself falling over but I sort of stayed on  my feet thanks to the crowd around me. I was having a lot of fun just dancing by myself but found Keith looking around,  probably for me so I went to him.

"Yippee, lets dance." I dragged him while he laughed at me.

"How drunk are you?" He sskedcas I put my arms around his neck and swayed to the music with him. "Not much." I told him. "Then let's get another drink first," he suggested. I frowned. "You know I love to dance." I told him. "I do but let's have some fun first."

We challenged each other to see who could finish five shots first the winner could pick whatever we were to do next. I obviously won after a little cheating thanks to a guy behind Keith.

"Lets smoke a joint. I haven't done that in forever." I told him. He quickly agreed and took me upstairs where there were groups people doing their own thing. Keith gotta joint from someomecand lit it up. We found chair to sit on but Keith beat me to it so I just sat on his lap. When then took turns smoking it. I leaned my forehead against the side of his as I became little droopy.

"I spy with my little eye, your crush with a chick." Keith side. I quickly straightened up and looked around the room but I couldn't see anyone. "Liar." I said as I slightly smacked his arm.

"They probably went to find a room." He laughed.

"I hate you." I told him before stood up to look for Bellamy.

Slowly moved around because I couldn't quite feel my legs or body.

"Easy there." A dark brown haired guy said to me. I narrowed my eyes at him. "Bellamy?" I asked, unsure because I couldn't see properly.

"Mike, but you can call me whatever you like." He said with a mischievous grin. I rolled my eyes and proceeded to find Bellamy. I stumbled across the crowd and found him making out with girl.

My eyebrows furrowed, my hands clenched tightly by my sides and I was ready for some lasers to shoot out of my eyes but was instantly distracted when someone rested their chin on my shoulder and held me by my waist.

"I take it hes the one you're looking for." I turned my head slightly to see Mike. I sighed and completely turned to face him.

"It doesn't matter anymore. Let's just get this over with Mitch." I wasn't amused when found my voice cracking halfway. It hurt me to see him like that.

He gave me a confused look. "It's Mike," he said. "Whatever," I rolled my eyes and kissed him. He pinned me to the side where we kissed for really long while. I tugged on his shirt to remove it but he didn't let me. I frowned at him.

"Not here," he said before pulling me to the nearest door. We ended up in a closet but it was good enough. His hands were making their way up my skirt while he kissed my chest when the door dramatically opened and he was pulled out. Keith came in next and looked at me with an angry face. I laughed at him as I fell to the floor. I didn't realize Mitch was holding me up this entire time.

"What the hell were you trying to do?" Keith said as he steadied me up. I couldn't help but laugh at his outburst.

"I was worried sick." He said. I rolled my eyes. "You shouldn't have left me alone. Now if you can excuse me, I was doing something with Mitch before you rudely interrupted." I pushed him out of the way and I nearly fell outside but I fell on somebody.

That's when I realized the weird sounds I thought were comingvfrom my head were actually coming from the outside.

"Hey Michie, aren't we going to continue?" I waved at him as someone kept punching him. It was really funny, everything, his face and his sounds.

The punches abruptly stopped and Michie took no time in running away. I pouted as I watched his fading figure. I tried to follow him but Keith's hands were practically glued to my waist. The figure to who was hurting Michie turned around. My brows shot up when I saw Bellamy.

"Why were you hurting Michie?" I yelled at him. He scoffed and glared at Keith before leaving without an answer.

"That was his cousin Princess, you should've picked someone else." Keith told me. "So should he." I said before sauntering off.

"Lets go home, I think we've had enough drama. I don't want believe ripping my head off." He shook his head.

"It's not fair! You bitches do whatever the hell you want but I have to live by certain rules? That's not his it works. I have the right to do whatever I please do to. I've had enough. " I snapped.

"Princess, wait, listen!" he called out but I ignored him and walked to the front door.

Bellamy stood there while playing with his lighter. His eyes met mine and he stopped.

"It had to be my cousin?" he asked.

"Well they don't go around wearing tags." I said.

"But everyone says we look almost the same."

"Yea, almost." I repeated. "Why does it even matter? Why is he off limits?" I asked. My drunken state was now sobering up. I straightened my posture and folded my arms. I slightly tilted my head towards the side and narrowed my eyes at him.

"I don't need to explain everything to you." He said defensively. I laughed. "And I don't need to follow your orders. Now if you excuse me, I'm gonna try to get your shit out of my head so I can actually have some fun and don't worry, I'll leave your cousin alone."And that was my queue to leave him and wander off into the party.
