Chapter 13 | Catching Feelings
It's Sunday afternoon and we've decided to to hang out at Eliza's house. Bellamy drove us there and called the boys at her house. Well maybe just Chris since Harry stayed over.
"My parents aren't at home so we can do whatever we want other than partying because I don't want to clean up afterwards." Eliza announces as we sat in the living. Her house was just as gigantic as anyone else's.
We sat around the two TVs. One was connected to an Xbox as me and the boys played COD while Brianna and Eliza watched Netflix.
"Blake you should change that nail polish, you've had it on for days now," Brianna said as she chose from the million shades Eliza brought. I looked at my nails and observed my black nail polish. I did make it messy since I painted over the chipped parts.
"Bellamy, remove my nail polish please." I ordered.
He rolled his eyes at me, "I'm not doing that, I don't know how." I frowned at him, I knew the real reason was that he was too busy focusing on the game Harry and Chris were playing as he kept giving either of them pointers. I bet he couldn't get to half of their score if he were playing. I put my arms around his torso trying to pick him but he didn't budge.
"Move you cow," I huffed.
"There's so much more we can do. Don't be boring," he complained as he sat on the couch and winked me. I spread out my fingers and told him to remove the nail polish.
"There, now can I go now." Bellamy said as he finished removing my nail polish.
I rolled my eyes at him and picked up a bottle of black nail polish. "Now put this on my toe nails and then on my fingers."
I grinned at him while he narrowed his eyes realizing what I just did. "You're going to pay for that!" he said, snatching the bottle from my hand.
I laughed and he mumbled things to himself. I glanced at Brianna and Eliza to find them staring at me with a surprised look on their face. I mouthed a 'what?' to them but they shared a look and shook their head at me.
"Two hours later, you're done." I sighed looking at my dried nail polish.
Bellamy stretched his arms and yawned. "I think I did a pretty good job." he said looking at my toe nails.
"That's because you taped everything around my nails" I said looking at the balls of tape on the floor.
"It's time for revenge," He sang while giving me a sly grin. I knew I had to make a run for it. I quickly got up but he pulled me down on the couch and started tickling me.
"Don't...tickle...me" I said trying to catch my breath as I laughed and tried to push Bellamy of me.
"Nah-uh bad girl," he said as he continued to tickle me. I rolled on the couch falling face first on the floor. Bellamy fell on top of me while his hands were on my stomach.
"Ow," I groaned as his heavy body crushed me on the floor.
"Sorry" he exclaimed as he tried to get up.
"Woah you guys, get a room!" Harry exclaimed as he turned to us pausing his game.
"Now you look?" I rolled my eyes as we stand up.
Harry shrugged his shoulders. "You guys need to turn it down a notch in public." He said, trying his best to keep his laughter in. I lunged for him and tickled him instead.
I walked into the kitchen and grab a water bottle.
"Need help with that?" Bellamy gestured to the bottle cap that I struggled to take off.
"No" I said when I finally got it off. I quickly downed it.
"I really don't understand you sometimes...you act tough one minute and next you-" before he could blabber on I stopped him.
"Tickling someone doesn't mean they're weak. Not being able to swim or something doesn't make you a weak person either. Stop blabbering, I'm not acting tough. My interests don't define me," I rolled my eyes at him walking away but he stopped me.
"I didn't mean that..." he said as I raised my brow at him as he stopped speaking.
"Can you drop me home, I'm tired of this bullsh*t. I have to complete some assignments and practice anyways," I looked over at the living room where the girls were watching some sappy movie. He chuckled and nodded at me. "Brianna I'm leaving with Bellamy!" I shout at her and she waves back.
"You're awfully quiet," I say breaking the silence in the car.
"No, I'm just bored." He shrugged.
"Can we stop at a store? I have to restock my stash of candies." I bit my lip nervously hoping he agrees. I hated how awkward we made things for each other and I couldn't always control my anger.
"Sure," he says without any emotion.
"Wow, they have everything!" I looked at a long aisle of candies and chocolates in front of me. Bellamy nodded towards me. I quickly started to fill the trolley with random candies and chocolates.
"What's your favorite?" I ask him as he looks at the shelves.
"I'm not really allowed, coach doesn't really approve of them." He said as his eyes wander around.
"Are you kidding me? The bad boy actually listens to someone? What about smoking and drinking and whatnot?" I asked in a surprised tone.
"Your wish has been my command since yesterday." He smirked. "So I do listen to people."
"Come on, a little sugar won't hurt." I nudge his arm with my elbow.
"Fine, mars. I like Mars." He picked up a few bars and threw them in the trolley.
"A few more wont hurt." I winked at him and threw a few more in the trolley. He laughed and started to push the trolley away as I followed behind.
Once the cashier lady checks out our items and Bellamy, I handed her my credit card. I saw Bellamy's card pointed to the lady too. We both glare at each other.
"You're not paying!"
"I will!"
"No you won't!"
We spoke the same words at the same time and the lady started to giggle. We turned to her raising an eyebrow.
"You two sure are a cute couple," she said before taking Bellamy's credit card. Both of us chose to ignore her, she was irrelevant anyways.
"He's not paying," I told her but she already swapped it. Bellamy smiled at me and I rolled my eyes.
We left the store and walked towards the car when Bellamy stopped me. "There's an old arcade here, do you want to go?" he asked, pointing to a building on our left. "We won't be long," he adds and I nod. Arcades can never get old.
"You're really good at this," I joked and laughed at Bellamy who lost at the first level of Pac man for the tenth time now.
"Then lets see you play," he challenged.
"Game on," I grinned at him because I always easily made it past level one. He pulled me down on his lap and wrapped his hands around me.
"Don't do that, let me go." I uncomfortably try standing up but he kept me in place.
"Come on, I'm too tired to get up." He said lazily.
I rolled my eyes at him and sighed. "Then don't try anything funny because I'll cut your balls off." I threatened him. A look of shock found it way to his face momentarily but was replaced with a laugh all too quickly.
Needless to say, both of us sucked at Arcade games and we proved it by trying almost every game there was.
"That was fun," I smiled at Bellamy and he returned a warm smile.
"Thank you, this has to be the most fun weekend I've had since a long time." I said truthfully. Just a few months ago I was either crying or getting wasted with a bunch of random people. I lost count of the times I wasn't thinking properly. Either I made bad decisions or I was forced into doing something. It was too much to bare at times but it was over now. I had to focus on the present.
"No problem, anything for a friend." He said, nudging on my arm. I nodded my head, as the warm feeling in my chest rendered me speechless.
"Do you want to come in for dinner?" I ask as we approach my house.
"You and Bellamy seem to be spending a lot of time together," mom says as I helped with the dishes.
"He's just a friend mom," I told her.
"And it better stay that way, he's a troublemaker. My least favorite from your group of friends," she said in a serious tone.
"Don't be so judgmental mom, he's nice guy. He just creates that weird atmosphere around him," I folded my arms and leaned against the kitchen counter.
"Honey, I've known him for a longer time. I don't want you getting attached to someone like that. Those tattoos and leather jackets are no good."
"I have tattoos too. Dad was okay with them. Don't act like that!"
"Don't talk to me in that tone. I only want what's best for you. Keep that friendship between you two to a minimal!" She warned.
"Jeez! You're barely here for us! You don't know anything we do." I mumbled, running to my room and sinking to the floor. He's just a friend and won't be anything more. People like me can't get that lucky.
