First Draft Romance is a story about a forbidden romance between a famous writer and her assistant who so happens to also have been her biggest fan since she was a teenager. Becoming more than employer and employee, and even more than a friend, is off-limits for them, but neither of them can resist the chemistry, banter, and attraction to each other.

"Lusting after her in my head is not okay on multiple levels. I mean, she's my boss. The kinds of intrusive thoughts I was having today were beyond inappropriate. I'm not just some fangirl of hers anymore– I'm her employee."

We have a strong opening for the first chapter, where we have Marcie taking care of Rosalind's laundry and causing her boss to tear her dress on the very first day. Fortunately, Roz doesn't fire her and the next morning, Marcie arrives at her boss's apartment to find her yelling at a coffee maker, which turns into a hilarious revelation and starts off their "friendship". Right before then, Marcie's girlfriend of 6 years breaks up with her, so as you can imagine, things seem to keep her on an unlucky streak, including with her writing. And yet somehow, she not only jokes around with her boss from day 2, but even vents to her about her problems with Gina while they're both drunk at a bookstore, leading to them becoming a little more intimate than what is appropriate for an employer and her assistant.

"Her lips curve up in a shy smile. I'm sure I look terrified right now. Our faces are so fucking close, oh my god. Does she not realize how easy it would be to lean in and kiss her right now? Surely she must."

Afterward, they try to keep things professional, and Marcie is ecstatic when Roz asks her to be her beta reader for a new book she's writing. At the same time, Marcie moves out of her ex-girlfriend's place and moves in with her trans friend, Kirby, and his boyfriend Daniel. You will love these two as they banter and make fun of each other and Marcie and their whole dynamic.

It's hard for Marcie to keep inappropriate thoughts about her own boss out of her head, and seeing Rosalind having women over at her place is making it even worse. Not to mention the constant, signature biting of her lip and the winks that always makes Marcie almost combust on the spot. But she has to keep her thoughts and wants in control, especially when her boss has made it seemingly clear that they're just friends, and that's all. Then a moment happens inside a closet at an event, one that leads them nearly acting upon their desire for each other despite how problematic it could turn out for the both of them.

"You're not just beautiful," she murmurs.

"I'm–I'm not?"

"No." There's a grit to her whisper, one that I haven't heard before. She somehow manages to pull me in even closer. I bite back a surprised moan as my chin tips back. "You're fucking gorgeous."

I'm like dry clay, crumbling in her hands. I want her to wet me and mold me beneath her fingers. "Really?"

"Yes."

I don't know if it's all the glasses of wine I've had that's making my head swim, or if it's Roz's proximity, her touch. But there's something in my gut, tugging me back down to earth.

I think it's also important that we keep in mind that, at the end of the day, I'm your boss, and you're my employee.

If you're into fun, rom-com sapphic stories revolving around the workplace and between a boss and her assistant, then this is the story for you. We guarantee you'll love it. Top-level banter that will make you laugh out loud, a breathtakingly beautiful and caring boss woman, funny side characters that steal the spotlight every now and then, and the relatable thoughts and situations of a twenty-something year old woman living in today's world. Every chapter will be worth your time.
