Likhe jo khat tujhe

Woh teri yaad meinHazaaron rang keNazaare ban gaye

As he flipped through the pile of letters that he wrote to her when she was away, his eyes glistened with tears. He remembered how much he had craved for her presence. When she went away, she took his whole heart away with her. His feelings for her had changed with time. He didn't even realize when this affection that he had for her as a child turned into love eventually as she grew up. He had loved her always, but with time the definition of this love had changed and it appeared to him that even love has so many faces. Love can simply not be explained into words, it can only be felt, leaving one speechless with the mere feeling of being in love.

She had returned a few weeks ago and she had carefully arranged his letters in a separate drawer, and she had kept a rose and his favorite perfume along with these letters. He wiped  his tears away and read through the lines, though they were written by him only, but this feeling was so strong altogether.

Sawera jab huya

To phool ban gayeJo raat aayi toSitaare ban gayeLikhe jo khat tujhe

As he read through the lines, he could feel his tears trickling down, wetting the letter that was in his hand and he could see the words fading away as the ink smudged. He carefully wiped away the stain and simultaneously his tears. Reading these letters was so nostalgic, it had just brought out  the whole store of memories out when he used to silently weep remembering her, each time he would think if she was fine or not. He used to look at her notebooks that she had left behind and with each page he flipped, his heart ached that she was not with him right now, that he could not see her, could not be with her.

He remembered how he used to sit in the yard and admire those flowers which reminded him of her, how he used to picture her in almost everything. When he played the piano, she was the one on his mind. He had sent her away five years back, when she had turned 18 and she was mature enough to acknowledge love, but he had not confessed it then. He had waited for her to complete her dreams, to be independent. He used to find her, smiling at him in almost everything.

Koyi nagma kahin goonja

Kahan dil meinYeh tu aayiKahin chatki kali koyi,Main yeh samjha, tu sharmaayiKoyi khushboo kahin bikhriLaga yeh zulf lehraayi

He smiled sheepishly to himself remembering how much foolish he must have appeared to others when he was drooling over small things, finding his Bondita in them. He had behaved like a long lost lover then.

All of a sudden he was brought out of his thoughts when he felt two hands covering his eyes from behind. She immediately wiped his tears away and pulled him by the arm, making him sit on the bed. He could only admire her.

She frowned," Pati Babu, stop shedding these tears now, look, I'm standing right in front of you. Why do you read these letters when they end up making you cry?"

He pulled her and made her sit on the bed beside him as he said," These letters are memories, Bondita. Painful yet soothing to my heart."

She looked at him with love and rested her head on his shoulder. He slowly wrapped his arms around her shoulder. She looked at him again and blushed. Sometimes, she thought what her life would have become if he was not there. All of a sudden, she felt his hands on her cheeks and before she could make anything out, she saw his face coming closer to her. She looked away out of shyness and giggled making him drool over her again. She looked back at him and to his surprise, leaned in closer, making him shiver. She placed both her hands on his shoulders and adjusted herself on his lap. He was perplexed, and she giggled again. She was so tiny in front of him. He put his hands around her waist as he pulled her closer to him. She leaned in closer to his face but didn't kiss him. Instead pushed him back on the bed and in a second, she stood near the window admiring the night sky. He could only smile.

Fiza rangeen, adaa rangeen

Yeh ithlaana, yeh sharmaanaYeh angdhaayi, yeh tanhaayiYeh tarsa kar, chale jaanaBana dega nahi kiskoJawaan jadoo yeh deewana

These things have so much effect on him. Whenever he thought that he knew everything about her, he ended up feeling defeated as she showed him a different side of her everyday.

He slowly made his way towards her and stood behind her. As soon as she felt his presence behind her, she let out a sigh. He slowly snaked his hands around her, engulfing her in a hug as he placed his chin on her shoulder. He placed a kiss on her neck. She gasped and smiled to herself, which went unnoticed by him. She thought to herself that she was so lucky to have  the love of her life so close to her. He had caged her as if he'd never let her go. Whenever she felt his fragrance around her, she felt ecstatic, ready to burst out with happiness. His mere touch created a havoc inside her.

She now  turned around, wrapped her hands around his neck and gave a peck on his lips. He smiled as he hugged her tightly, remembering the time when he used to send letters to her.

Jahan tu hai, wahan main hoonMere dil ki tu dhadhkan haiMusafir main tu manzil haiMain pyaasa hoon tu saawan haiMeri duniya yeh nazre hainMeri jannat yeh daaman hai
