Chapter 17
Ohio. It must've been a beautiful state before the game happened. I gaze at the fallen oak tree on the ground. It reminded me of a weird phrase. Everything beautiful eventually dies. And salt phrase is true.
"Do we have any idea on where they are?" Vinny asks, glancing around at the disaster. Homes were destroyed, trees uprooted and yet there was still no sign of Cry, Ken or the new chick that they were talking about.
"Sadly, no," Anti says, sighing. "Mark was the only person who knew where Wade lived and now he is-"
"Don't you dare say he is gone!" I growl, aiming my gaze at him. Mark's soul, though it was still weak, it was burning at a stable pace, though Mark still hasn't responded to me. Everyone remains quiet for a split second, then Jack breaks it.
"Okay," he says slowly, looking around. "So, no one knows where Wade lives- well use to live. Mark is... somewhere and we are just clueless on where to go, am I correct?"
"Pretty much," Felix responds, walking over another fallen tree. A splitting pain shoots through my head. I cry out, stumbling backwards over the oak tree.
"Dark?!" Anti yells as they rush towards me.
My vision fades in and out as my body convulsed. Hands grabbed me, making everything worse. Then, the worse feeling I have ever felt happens. The feeling of being split apart like someone was tearing me right down the seams. The pain intensifies as everything goes black.

When I woke up, I was staring at some ceiling. My head was pounding and everywhere ached.
"You're awake," surprised at who's voice it was, I turn my head slightly seeing the familiar white mask.
"Cry?" I croak. "What? How?" He sighs, sitting down on a chair near the bed I was laying on.
"It's a long story," he says. "But to make it short, the fzeres snuck up on you, took you out and try to take out the others. However, Alexa heard someone screaming and so we followed her to where the screams were going on and that was how we found you guys..."
I sigh, glancing up at the ceiling. Fzeres were always bad news. They were cowardly demons who sneak up on their targets when they weren't looking, making them one of the most lethal demons out there.
"How's Mark?" He asks, running a hand through his dust covered hair. I sigh, closing my eyes, feeling Mark's soul's heartbeat. It was faint but still there and still beating.
"He's still there," I respond quietly. "Vinny and Anti said you can help Mark and I, so I was wondering.... hey why are you looking at me like that?" Cry's eyes held sorrow and worry within them.
"That's what I want to talk to you about, actually," the look in his eyes worried me.
"Cry... what's wrong? What happen?" I ask, looking at him. He shakes his head.
"No, I'm scared too! I have a feeling you'll get mad at me if I tell you..." I sigh.
"Cry, I won't be mad at you."
"Promise?"
"Depends. I don't want to make a promise if I can't keep it." Cry sighs.
"So you know how Anti and Vinny have their powers still when they were forced out of the game?" I nod slowly. I had a feeling I knew where this was going, dreading what I heard next. "Well... I was unlucky... I was stripped of all my powers except the one to teleport..." I frown and he sighs. "I can't save Mark without my powers. I'm sorry Dark."
