Base Antics

Hours and hours passed and we still had yet to do something. Bumblebee had shown up about two hours ago, and all we've been doing since then is watching a movie and trying to brainstorm ideas. I had hoped by now that we would've at least had ONE good idea, but the two of them lacked creativity. It was very frustrating if you asked me. I wanted to go out and do something; something that did NOT involve anything these scrap heaps have come up with. They were truly incompetent at best.

"You guys suck," I grumbled as they pitched yet another lame idea.

"It's like nine o'clock. There isn't much to do at nine o'clock; at least nothing that my mom and dad would let us do," Ethan remarked.

I let out an exasperated sigh and laid my head down on his lap' throwing my feet onto Bumblebee's. The three of us were in the living room at the moment. We were too occupied with thinking about ideas to even move. I wagered that I would probably wind up falling asleep here soon if they didn't think of something. I didn't think I would mind it though. The two of them were rather comfortable, even Bumblebee's holoform which was just a synthetic version of his true self.

"I actually have an idea, but I don't know if Kaelyn will like it. You're only like your mom in certain departments," he chuckled, playing with the band of my sock.

"What is it?" I inquired. I was rather curious.

"We head to the base and pull a couple pranks on my fellow Autobots," he suggested.

I made a face. "What does that have to do with my mom though?"

"She was a bit of a prankster before she was pregnant with you. The two of us were in the Bahamas and we pranked almost every single person that came with us." He laughed as he remembered what happened. I only wish I could've witnessed it myself.

"So?" I chuckled.

"Well, I feel like you would be more like your father in the pranking department. He was never a fan of pranks," he told me.

I snickered and Ethan laughed loudly.

"You and Azalea pranked Ironhide?" Ethan asked.

"Once. We learned our lesson, but in the Bahamas Dino decided he should be a part of it so he played his own prank and disappeared; he made it look like Azalea and I were the culprits, so we paid the price for it," he explained.

"Wow. What a jerk," Ethan laughed.

"Very much so. That's why tonight we should get him back for it," Bee insisted.

"Alright. I'm down for it. It gives me something to do," I chimed before sitting up.

"Good. Go get dressed in something black. We can't be seen when this goes down or they will kill us," Bumblebee informed me.

I nodded in understanding and headed off to Ethan's room. I rummaged through my bag--which was now sitting on his bed--and took out a pair of black skinny jeans and a black v-neck shirt. It was a really good thing majority of my wardrobe consisted of nothing but black clothes or this would've been difficult. Once I was changed I grabbed my black boots and put them on my feet before heading back out into the living room.

"How'd you get dressed so fast?" I asked Ethan. He was sitting on the couch fully clothed in nothing but black.

"I stole some of my dad's clothes while you were changing. Oh, and by the way they gave us permission to go out. It's only because Bumblebee's here though," he scoffed.

I should have figured that much.

"So are we leaving or what?" I asked him.

"Yeah," he stood up. "Bee's already outside waiting on us."

I nodded and the two of us headed out the front door. Bee started his engine the moment he saw us, and we got in.

"We have to make a pit stop before we head to the base. We're gonna need to buy a few things," Bee told the two of us.

"With what money?"

"Sam gave me his credit card," he smirked.

"Why?" Ethan chuckled.

"Because we're that close, and he was all for us pranking the Autobots. Just don't tell Carly," he answered.

I laughed and shook my head at him. Soon enough we arrived at Walmart and Bee took off with Ethan while I stayed seated in the backseat. About fifteen minutes later the two of them returned with a shitload of stuff. I had no clue what any of it was; the only thing I managed to catch a glimpse of among the junk was a big bottle of syrup.

"What did you guys do? Buy the whole store?" I baited as Bee took off yet again.

"Something like that."

I chuckled and laid back down in my seat. A couple of minutes passed before Bee finally started slowing down. I could only assume that we had arrived at base, and since he was an Autobot he could just roll right in. It was very convenient. Once he stopped I sat up. It was completely dark, but I could still see majority of my surroundings. I just didn't recognize them.

"Where are we? Why is it so dark?" I whispered just in case someone--or some bot--were to hear us.

"We're in my hangar. You don't have to whisper, Kay," Bee chuckled. I seemed to have forgotten that all of the Autobots now had their own individual hangars, well, except for my father; he couldn't exactly live on base with a family to take care of.

"Do they know you're here?" I questioned.

"No, and it's probably best that we keep it that way."

"So, what's the game plan?" Ethan asked as he got out of the car.

I followed shortly after him, and in seconds the hangar was lit up. There weren't enough to draw unnecessary attention, but it was enough so that Ethan could see.

"First of all, stay away from the Wreckers and Optimus; odds are that Optimus is still up, so it wouldn't be wise to try anything anyway, and the Wreckers are just dicks. Now, Kay is going to take care of Dino for me, I'm going to take care of Sideswipe, and you are going to take care of Hatchet," he explained to us as he handed us black bags.

"What if they're still up?" I asked, now slightly nervous. I've never done something like this before, and I definitely did not want to get caught.

"Dino and Sideswipe aren't. Ratchet may be, but if he is he'll be with Optimus, so the MedBay is clear. You know what to do, don't you?" he asked Ethan.

"Hell yeah!"

"Alright. Go," he instructed him. Ethan took off immediately and I was left alone with Bee in his hangar.

"What am I supposed to do?" I asked him.

"First of all, do you even know where Dino's hangar is?" I nodded. "Good. Everything you need is in that bag. You'll be fine. If you need me I'll be on the com-link. Let's do this."

The two of us left his hangar quickly, and wound up taking off in different directions. For the most part the base was dark, but a lot of places were very well lit and that was mostly because of the workers. I had to avoid them at all costs, and I might have looked suspicious doing it, but I didn't care. Most of the workers were too involved in their phones and tablets to pay attention to me anyway.

I was more than relieved when I finally made it to Dino's hangar though, even though I probably shouldn't have been. I slid the steel door open with my good arm and stepped inside the dark area. The only source of light inside was a faint blue light on the ceiling. Dino's alternate form was directly under it, and I could hear the slow humming of his spark. It sounded very similar to that of my father's when he was taking his stasis naps, so I assumed that he was very much asleep. This was going to be easy...hopefully.

I placed the bag down on the floor and rummaged through it, grimacing when I found about eleven giant bottle of syrup and six containers of red glitter.

"What the hell, Bee?" I whispered through the com-link.

"Dino hates syrup, Kay. I have no why. He claims that it's he most disgusting human creation on the planet, so I thought why not. And Ethan got the glitter; I'm almost pretty sure he's not heterosexual like he claims. Now leave me alone. I have a prank to pull," he grumbled before disconnecting.

"So much for 'If you need me I'll be on the com-link.' Fragging jerk," I mumbled to myself before grabbing two bottles of the syrup.

I moved over to Dino's side and studied him for a bit. It was very clear what Bee wanted me to do with it--and it was also very clear what Ethan wanted me to do with the glitter--but this was so lame. I can't believe I even signed up for this.

Without another thought I popped the lid off of the bottles and began dumping the contents onto Dino's alloy. It was rather hard to do this with a bulky cast covering my left arm, but I managed for the sake of Bumblebee and Ethan. I just hoped that he would not wake up any time soon, because I am almost certain that he would kill me.

Two bottles did absolutely nothing to cover Dino's body, so I wound up using every single bottle Bee bought. Handling the glitter was the most difficult part of this for me though. The lid was screwed on insanely tight and I ended up tripping over my feet fiddling with the damn thing. I fell on top of the container and it busted. My black clothing was now covered in the pesky red stuff, and not to mention I had it all over my face and in my hair. I was going to spend days getting this out and I was not happy about it. I wasted no time after that in dumping the shit on Dino. It was still a bit shocking that he hadn't woken up yet to kill me, but I couldn't complain.

As I was dumping the remnants of the final container onto the back of Dino's alternate form I heard a very distinct grunt. I froze completely, nothing but fear wracking my body. Dino was waking up and if I didn't get out of this damn hangar soon then I was absolutely done for.

I threw the container to the floor and ran over to the steel door, pushing it open as best as I could with one arm. It shut behind me, and I scurried away from it. The base was barely lit, so I assumed that the workers were turning in for the night. I didn't care though. I was covered head to toe in glitter and if you asked me I thought that was even more suspicious than walking around in nothing but black.

I rounded the corner to head back to Bumblebee's hangar, but a hand pulled me back. The thought of it being Dino scared me, but when I turned around I found myself even more frightened. This was not Dino.

"Dad? What are you doing here?" I asked, my voice slightly shaky.

Not only was this my father, but it was my father. It was only now that I realized it had been his fingers that grabbed me instead of his hands. He was kneeling down in front of me, but that did nothing to help the fact that he still towered feet above me. His bright blue optics stared into my blue eyes; there was suspicion in them, but I didn't miss the small amount of anger hidden in them.

"What are you doing here? And why are you covered in glitter?" he asked, removing his fingers from my jacket. I took a step back and he gave me a warning look.

"Um, that's a really good question actually," I started. In the distance I heard the sound of very angry Italian and Cybertronian being spoken. It was definitely nothing nice either.

"Kaelyn, what did you do?" my dad grumbled. He was now very angry.

"Uh, I have to go."

I ran off before he had the chance to even think about trying to catch me. After running for a few moments I ran into a body and fell to the ground.

"Damnit," I heard a familiar voice mutter.

Ethan grabbed my good hand and pulled me off of the ground before running with me.

"What happened to you?" he chuckled.

"Glitter grenade. But we need to get out of here. My dad is here and Dino is angry," I told him.

"Yeah, Ratchet saw me so I-wait, did you say your dad is here?" he asked, suddenly forgetting why he was even running in the first place. He stopped immediately, but I had to yank him to keep him moving.

"Yes, now keep moving."

The two of us finally came to Bee's hangar and we ran in, only to stop. Bumblebee's alternate form wasn't even in here! The slag head ditched us!

"No he fucking didn't," I exclaimed.

"Oh, I think he fucking did. Come on," he told me before heading back towards the hangar door.

I followed closely behind him. He shoved the door open and ran out into the hallway, but stopped rather abruptly, causing me to run into him. Before I could even fathom what was going on I was being lifted. I wriggled in my captor's grasp, but it was no use. He--also known as my father--was incredibly too strong for me.

"Put me down," I yelled. All he did in response was clamp his calloused hand over my mouth. That didn't stop me from screaming though.

"Kaelyn Olivia, I swear to Primus if you do not shut up I am locking you in your room for three months," he threatened.

"Fuck you," I mumbled into his hand. I was kind of hoping he hadn't heard it, but what even is hope anymore? He growled and before I knew it I was being thrown to the floor. What a fucking dick. I have a broken arm and this is how he treats me.

Before I knew it Ethan was beside me, and I looked up to find not only my dad's glitter-covered holoform, but Dino's, Ratchet's, and Sideswipe's. Bumblebee was nowhere to be found and I was definitely going to kill him for ditching us like this. The two of us were definitely in trouble and there was no way out of it.
