Sunday morning

I pulled the towel around my body as I got out the shower. I felt a little better, but I was still very hungover from last night. Mekai went to get more eggs and bacon so I could cook and everyone else was still sleep.

As I dried off, I turned on the news seeing Olivia in cuffs and an orange jumpsuit, leaving a hospital. Her face was still messed up, I'm surprised she lived.

"Ms. Scott, why did you do it?" A reporter asked

"So she could see how it feels to lose a child." Olivia answered briefly

"What do you mean by that?"

"That's all...for now." She smirked before being put into the police car

"Shit" I paused the tv, pulling my semi wet curls in a bun

As I got dressed, my mind wandered with worry

She's going to tell

No she's not

And why not?

Exactly, she's going down and taking y'all with her. I knew this would come back and bite you in the ass.

"Good morning my lil ray of Sunshine." Mekai walked and kissed my cheek

"Baby, Olivia's going to tell that we killed Calvin." I blurted quickly

"Calm down." He took his jacket off "Why you say that? What's wrong?"

I pressed rewind then play, showing him the clip of Olivia leaving the hospital.

"Fuck..." he sighed, sitting down

"Kai she's gonna' say something, she has no reason not to."

"I know... We-"

Knocks at the door interrupted him

"Come in."

"Good morning love birds." She came in, hugging Kyla "How y'all sleep?"

"Good, how's the couch life treating you?"

"Horrible. We love y'all but I can't wait to get in my bed tomorrow night." She smiled "Anyway, y'all wanna go get food? I need something to help this hangover."

"I'm about to cook."

"Even better, I'll help."

"No!" Mekai and I said at the same time

"Oh y'all messed up."

"We love you but you know you can't cook, sis." I laughed

"At all." Mekai added "Can't even boil water."

"Dom told you about that?" She gasped

"Yup. Yo' ass need cooking classes." He replied

"Shut up." She laughed "Girl I put the water on the stove and forgot about it. I was tending to Arian though, he was crying."

"Not that damn long." Mekai laughed, making me laugh

As the laughing died down, I heard crying.

"That's Kacey." I said, about to go get her

"I got it." Mekai said

"Thanks baby."

"Prepumped milk in the fridge?" He asked

"Yeah, only enough for her though. I'll get Kas when he wakes up."

He exited the room, leaving Laura and I.

My mind was stuck on Olivia and I knew his was too. If she says anything that's the end for both of us.

"Ky, you hear me?" Laura asked

"Huh?"

"Y'all started planning the wedding?"

"Nah not really. We not rushing anything."

"Understandable. Well when y'all do, you know I'm definitely the maid of honor."

"Yeah, you the maid alright. Look at you in your maid outfit, hey maid." I mocked Joseline Hernandez

"You stupid" she laughed

"Look at them." Laura laughed as we watched the kids stare in awe at the bubbles

We decided to take them to the children's museum since they had an infant and toddler's room. They were loving every minute of this place.

I noticed Mekai staring off, thinking. I could tell a lot was on his mind

"You ok?" I asked only so he could hear

"Later."

I nodded, knowing we needed to talk about the situation and put a plan into action soon.

"You like the bubbles, huh?" I went back to playing with the twins

"Excuse me, aren't you the guy that's about to sign to the L.A. Rams?" A little boy came up to him and asked

"Mekai Andrews." The other little boy said, staring at Mekai

"Yeah."

"Can I have your autograph? We watch your games all the time." His eyes beamed

Mekai's face lit up "Yeah lil man, what's your name?" He asked

"Jacob and this is my little brother Mike."

"Check out the superstar." Laura nudged me

"I see." I smiled at how happy he looked

I just hope this happiness gets to last this time.

"Remember that time y'all got into it at that party?" Laura chuckled as we sat in the restaurant

"Thought he was finna' kill yo ass." Dom said

"Me too." Kyla laughed "Our love just run deep though." she leaned over, kissing Mekai

"Deep my ass, he was mad as hell. That nigga cussed me out the whole ride back." Dom joked "And I ain't even do nothing."

"I cussed Laura out too." Kyla laughed

"Yeah, but y'all asses took forever to make up, we was cool right after it happened." Mekai said

"Whatever." Kyla nudged him

He pecked her lips again just because.

"Y'all so adorable, I can't wait for the wedding." Laura said

Kyla eyed her, signaling her to not bring that up. She knew her best friend and she knew she always did too much. But that's what she loved about her-sometimes.

"So what kind of wedding you want Mekai?" Laura ignored her

"Nothin' too big, we ain't really talked about it though. Nosy ass." Mekai picked at her

"I'm just asking, fool. I'm ready to party and see my best friend walk down the aisle."

"I ain't get to see you." Kyla said

"Because we did it in Vegas being young and dumb on spring break." Laura replied "I FaceTimed you."

"Yes at three in the morning drunk as hell. I remember all to well." She joked, rolling her eyes

Kason woke up from his nap crying. Kyla picked him up, smelling what he had done in his diaper.

"I'm gonna' go change him. Laura bring the diaper bag for me." She got up holding him

When they got to the women's room, Kyla laid a sheet down before laying Kason on the changing table.

"Why would you bring that up Laura?"

"What the wedding thing? Girl you see how he brushed it off, you know Mekai ain't gone stress you about that."

"Still, it's something between us, and you overstepping." Kyla said, being her blunt self

"Oh-Oh ok." Laura nodded "My bad."

"Yeah, you good. Just chill though." She finished changing Kason, gave him to Laura while she washed her hands, and they exited.

"Alright we got to go boxes for the food and paid the bill. Y'all ready?" Mekai asked

"Yeah, these kids tired." Laura picked up Arian who was dozing off

"They drooling like they pay bills." Kyla entered the bedroom after putting the twins to sleep

Mekai laughed lightly, pausing the tv.

"So, I was thinking-"

"Where Dom and Laura?" He asked, not wanting them to hear anything

"In the car getting some alone time, I put the extra monitor in the living room for Arian."

"Ok, go ahead."

"We should go see her, see what she wants. If that doesn't work, we get the best lawyer's money can buy because if she tells they're definitely going to open a case." Kyla explained

Calvin's body was never found, this gives them a good enough reason to go searching.

"She's being held in the courthouse downtown, we'll go tomorrow after they leave." He nodded, pulling her on his lap

She straddled him "Ok, in the mean time let me help you release some of that stress." They both smirked before sharing a kiss

They made rough, passionate love majority of the night. Mekai took his frustrations out on Kyla's body, but just the way she liked it, helping her clear her head as well.
