"This is mommy's old room." I held Kacey while Cam held Kason

We just came back from lunch and the mall, I really missed spending time with my mama and little sister.

"It's auntie room now. Like what I did wit' the place?" Cam did a slow 360, showing off the redecorated room

"I can't believe she let you paint it purple." I shook my head "I always wanted to paint my room"

"Black was not an option." My mama came up behind us

"In Los Angeles it is, my whole room is painted black."

"And what about the room in New York?"

"What you mean?"

"Cam, give me Kason and go wait for Kyla downstairs."

"Then we can go to the park?" She handed Kason to my mom

"Yeah" I answered before she left

"You stay in Los Angeles, Mekai's made a life for himself in New York. But what about when you leave here? Who's staying where?"

"...I forgot about that" I sighed

"You all should talk that over." She looked at the twins "Soon"

"I understand." I nodded

"Ky, you ready?" Camryn asked from the bottom of the stairs

"Let me get this girl to the park" I chuckled

"Look at y'all, you like the swings?" I talked to my cheesing twins as I rocked the swings slowly

"My friends from school! Can I go to the big park?" Cam asked

"Yeah, stay where I can see you."

"Ok" she said while running off

I pushed the twins on the infant swings while I watched Cam run and play with her friends. Mekai spent the day with his parents and I spent the day with my mom and sister. I got to admit though, I miss my man.

"Kason, look at mommy." I took a picture of them swinging

"Oh wow, you have beautiful twins." A voice said from behind me, making me jump

I turned around "Olivia, you can't be walking up on people like that."

"I apologize, I thought you saw me." She picked her barking dog up

"I didn't."

"Oh..." her face saddened "Well I ain't mean no harm, I just wanted to speak.." she started walking off

I felt bad for being rude, after all I did kill her only child, I could be a little nicer

"Olivia" I sighed

"Yes?"

"What's your dog's name?" I started small talk

"CJ...Calvin Jr." she smiled

"Oh...ok." That's not weird

"Your kids are beautiful." She said again, sitting her dog down "What are their names?"

"Kacey and Kason." I began taking Kacey out of the swing "And it's almost time for their dinner so I'ma get them home."

"I can help" she reached for Kason

"No" I semi shouted "I got it. Cam let's go!" I don't play about strangers touching my children

"I didn't mean to upset you, I was-"

"Just trying to help, I know." I nodded, locking Kason in the stroller

"It's not even raining yet." Camryn pouted

"It's time to go." I said

"Ok" she sighed "Oh, Hi Miss Olivia." she said to Olivia who was walking off

"Hi Camryn." Olivia turned around

"Why you don't come up to the school no more and read to our class?" She asked

"I've been busy lately, dear." She smiled politely "I'll try soon. Ok?" she placed her hand on Cam's shoulder

"Alright, it's time to go Cam. See you Olivia" I said before taking Camryn's hand and walking to the car

This lady is really trying my niceness. Certain things you just don't do, I don't give a fuck who died or how sad you are, popping up on people, acting like you know them, and trying to hold their kid is a big no.

"So, she reads at y'all school?" I asked, securing the twin's and Cam's car seats

"Yeah, she's mommy's friend too."

"Oh ok, she ever come over?" I buckled myself in

"Yeah, her and mommy go out sometimes too. She babysit me when mommy go on dates."

"She ever did or said anything bad to you?"

"No, Miss Olivia is nice."

"Mhm, let's get y'all home so we can eat."

"Yes! I'm dying of starvation." She dramatically fell over

"Lil girl" I chuckled, turning on the radio before pulling out the lot

"Ma, you friends with this lady named Olivia?" I asked while we washed the dishes

Camryn and the twins were out like lights after dinner and their baths.

"Olivia Scott, yeah. Her son that passed went to your school" she handed me a plate

"I know, I need you to leave her alone. I don't trust her." I cleaned it thoroughly and she dried it off

"Girl ain't nothing wrong with that lady, I know she seem a lil' off, but that's only 'cus she been through a lot."

"No, she been popping up on me since I been in town."

"Kyla it's a small town."

"Exactly which is why if she knew you she would've said something. She never mentioned she knew you or Cam, she sneaky mama."

"Sweetie, maybe it didn't cross her mind"

"We black, what black lady gone forget to mention she know yo' mama?" I cleaned the last plate

My mama chuckled and shook her head "You got me there"

I grinned "I'm serious and please keep her away from Cam."

"Cam loves Olivia."

"Ma, please."

"Ok, I will, stop worrying yourself. Why would Olivia want to hurt anybody anyway?"

"I'm just trying to protect y'all." I dried my hands, not fully answering her question

I was trying to protect them, but I couldn't let her know why I was protecting them. I can't have my mom knowing I killed somebody when I was in high school.

"You got your own family to protect, I got me and Cam."

"No, we all got each other."

"That's right." She smiled, hugging me "I'm so proud of you."

"Ma" I hugged her back

"I mean it, you are strong...that's one of the many things I love about you." She pulled away

"I learned from the best, I love you too."

"Wine and movies?"she asked

"Of course, let me shower first."

"Girl don't go in there!" My mom and I yelled in unison before the lady on the screen got stabbed

"I knew she was gone die next, stupid ass bitch" My mama shook her head, sipping her wine

"You ok?" I chuckled

I never heard my mom cuss unless she was really mad, that red wine got her feeling right.

"Yeah, why you ask?"

"Because you drinking and the glass empty." I laughed, taking it from her

"Oh damn...let me get to bed." She tried to stand up, but failed miserably "Ok never mind"

"Mama, you a lightweight." I put a pillow under her head and helped her put her feet up

"That's 'cus it's been a while. Back in the day, I would've had you beat." She batted her eyes slowly

"Yeah, wayyyy back in the day." I put the blanket over her

"Lil' girl, I am not that old."

"I'm just picking wit' you, grandma."

"Oh fuck you." She laughed while her blinks got slower, shortly after, her eyes were fully closed and light snores followed

I turned the tv off and went in the kitchen. I threw the empty bottle away and washed the glasses, then headed to my room. While I was halfway there, I got a text from Mekai

I did a turn on the stairs, slipped on my slides, and went outside. He was leaning against his car with a smirk.

"What you want Andrews?" I walked over to him

He sucked his teeth "Don't try to act like you ain't missed me all day."

"I didn't." I shrugged

"Then I guess I can go." He was about to walk to the driver's side

"Noooo" I grabbed him by his hoodie

"Uh-huh, thought you ain't miss me." He chuckled

"Shut up" I smirked before kissing him, pressing my lower half into his

He pulled away "You been drinking?"

"A lil red wine" I continued kissing along his jawline while I eased my hand in his sweatpants

"I taste it." He hissed when I started sucking on his neck

"Mhm. Come inside, I'll let you taste something else." I whispered in his ear, stroking his warm, growing member

He groaned in pleasure, grabbing my wrist "Hop in the backseat."

I moved my hand and did as told, cheesing from ear to ear at how I was about to get rearranged in the backseat.
