"Good morning Ms. Parker." Liyah entered my office

"Good morning." I smiled, finishing up my essay

Due to the fact I was still in college when I left last year, I go to online school since I've moved here. It fits more into my schedule, especially after I had the twins.

I'm the assistant of a big time CEO now, and I get an assistant to help me out too.

"How does it feel to be back in the workplace?"

"I missed it" I smiled "But I miss my babies even more." I checked the clock "They're taking their 3pm naps right now."

"Aw...If you don't mind me asking, what happened to their father?" She asked

"He's...We...Things didn't work out." I shrugged

"Oh, sorry to hear that."

"Yeah...Can you bring in all those files from yesterday? I need to start on them."

"Yes ma'am, I'll be right back." She got up and left out

She returned shortly after with the papers in her hands.

"Anything else ma'am?"

"Yes, please stop calling me ma'am." I chuckled

"Sorry ma- Ms. Parker. I'll be at my desk if you need anything." She said before walking out again

My phone dinged and I checked it.

L Boogie ❤️🤑: So the other day, I almost slipped up and showed Mekai a picture of the twins 😭 -3:20pm

"At tomorrow's game there will be NFL coaches there, be on your game like never before." Coach talked to us after practice "Don't let it be the reason you play good, but just remember that they're watching. See you all tomorrow at 5" he dismissed us

"Aye man, you going out with us tonight?" Dom asked

"Nah, I gotta pick Eric up from daycare." I tossed my gym bag over my shoulder

"You can't find a babysitter? We going to the strip club"

"Nah, I'm too tired. See y'all later" I said before exiting the locker room

My life been boring as hell this past year. All I do is go to practice, school, work, and take care of Eric...Eric. What the hell kind of name is that for a kid? I went along with it so I wouldn't hear Bridgett's whining.

Ain't that crazy? I got rid of Lena so I wouldn't hear her whining 24/7, and still ended up with whiny ass Bridgett being a part of my life.

"How was he?"

"A little angel as always." The daycare instructor handed me Eric's diaper bag "Can I speak with you in private for a second?"

"Yeah"

She pulled me over to the side where no one could hear "I was changing his pamper today and noticed some fresh bruises on his legs, stomach, and a few on the back."

"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows

"And this morning the mother dropped him off with a full diaper, little to nothing in the diaper bag, and the same shirt from yesterday."

I stayed silent, clenching my jaw as I locked Eric in his carrier.

"I haven't called any authorities because I know you take very good care of him when you have him, but if I see this again, I will have to report it."

"Thank you, I can assure you it won't happen ever again." I got up and left out.

I took Eric to Dom and Laura's, then I headed over to Bridgett's house.

I got out the car and went to her front door, banging. "Bridgett!" I banged harder

"Mekai stop! What's your-" I cut her off, choking her

I pushed her in the house with my hand around her neck, then slammed the door with the other.

"You been abusing my damn son?"

She shook her head no as best as she could.

"He got bruises all over him bitch! He ain't have them when I dropped him off last time"

"I...I-"

"You gone be a dead bitch." I mocked her tone, gripping her throat even tighter

I watched as she tried to gasp for air, and her eyes became low.

Think about Eric, don't do this.

Eric is fine with just me.

Think about how far you've come...You've grown so much since-

I watched her body drop to the ground, she took a big gasp of air, then began crying.

"I'm taking my son with me. I might let you see him if I feel you learned your fuckin' lesson." With that, I walked out of her house

I wasn't used to be a full time parent, but I was about to get ready.

This is a very boring chapter, it's just a filler that's leading up to- never mind 🤐👀😏
