Kyla woke up in bed alone. She sat up looking around the room, remembering all the events that took place last night.

"What's the matter baby?" Mekai turned the light off in the bathroom

She looked at her engagement ring and smiled "I missed my fiancée cuddling me, come back to bed."

Of course she said yes and she meant it with every bone in her body. Now this meant she had to tell him, not right now though.

"Stop" she giggled as Mekai left kisses along her jawline "How am I supposed to cook and you keep distracting me?"

"I just can't get enough of you" he circled his tongue around a hickey he created from a few hours before

"Kai..." he made her body shiver with pleasure and he was barely touching her

His arms went around her waist. He loved watching her body respond to him.

"My fiancée so fine." he held his phone in his hand, recording on Snapchat "Let me see that ice baby"

Kyla lifted her hand up, letting the camera see her engagement ring.

"You so worrisome." she blushed, covering her grin

Mekai posted the video and locked his phone. "I love you" he said lowly into her ear, rocking both of their bodies from side to side

"I love you too."

"And I can't wait to marry you, knock you up, and live happily ever after with you and all our big headed kids"

The relaxation Kyla was beginning to feel, went away "Yeah...How do you want your eggs?"

"Scrambled with cheese, like always." he began rubbing on her hips

"You know what that does, move." she tucked her bottom lip between her teeth

"We can start on the baby making right now if you want."

"One thing at a time." she chuckled, moving his hands

"I'm just joking." he went in the fridge and grabbed the orange juice

"Why do I have to find out through social media that my best friend is engaged?" Laura asked

"That's not important right now. I need to talk to you about something." Kyla said to her as they walked in the library

"What's wrong?"

"I have a secret I need to tell Mekai, I just don't know how." she bit at her bottom lip, looking for the book she needed to check out

"Don't tell me you cheated too" she sighed

"Hell no. It's about something going on with me."

"Kyla, you pregnant?" her eyes lit up

"No, but it's pertaining to that. I have to tell him soon. I don't wanna start off my engagement with negative energy."

"I feel you, then you should tell him." Laura looked through the books

"What if he gets mad?"

"Ok, I seriously need you to tell me the full story, because why would he be mad at you?"

"I'll explain it to you after I let him know."

"Alright, but I think you should tell him. Especially if it's something that might make him mad. Just call us if things get out of hand or anything." Laura knew they both were crazy as hell

"Mekai's my heart, but they day he puts his hands on me, we both gone be some bruised up motherfuckas." Kyla got what she was implying

"You all have a nice day" Professor Edwards said to everyone "Kyla, can I speak with you?" he asked

Kyla made her way over to his desk after everyone left out. "Yeah?"

"When did you wanna reschedule the tutoring dates?" he asked

"I pretty much know already know everything we have to go over, so I was just gonna' complete it myself and turn it in to you."

"I have no problem helping you."

"Oh, no it's fine. Besides, Saturday's are my relaxing days, I'd much rather be laying in bed at 7:30am." She joked

"Yes...of course. Well, don't forget to turn it in." he smiled

"Alright" she said before leaving

As she excited the class, her mom called. Kyla answered.

"Hey mama."

"Hey baby, you not in any classes are you?"

"No. Why, wassup?" Kyla walked through the halls

"I'm in the emergency room with Cam and-"

"What's wrong? I need to come home?" she quickly asked

"No. She has a little stomach ache. She wanted to talk to you."

"Let me talk to her" Kyla pressed the FaceTime icon.

Her little sister's face popped up. "Hi Ky" Camryn laid her head on her mother's arm

"Hey Cam Bam, your tummy hurt?"

"Yeah. I keep throwing up." Camryn wiped her eyes "My head hurt"

"Aw." Kyla sighed "The doctors are gonna see what's wrong with you. Ok?"

She nodded "When you coming back home?"

"Christmas break is in a few weeks, I'll be back then. Me, Mekai, Dominic, and Laura."

"Ok, I love you"

"I love you too, lil bit. Give the phone back to ma'."

"Yeah?"

"Keep me updated." Kyla said

"Of course. I'll text you later. Love you"

"Love you too" she said before hanging up

Kyla got in her car and headed home. She was excited to see her fiancée after a long day.

"Baby I- Why you sittin' in here with all the lights off?" Kyla asked

"You got anything you wanna tell me?" he sat his phone down

"Uhm...no." She chuckled "What's wrong?"

"Bridgett sent me this video of you and Laura talking in the library." he gave her his phone

Sure enough, it was Kyla and Laura from earlier. She was asking Laura for advice about how to tell Mekai, now she was stuck between lying or being honest.

"Bridgett? Why isn't the bitch blocked?" she locked his phone, tossing it on the couch

"She's blocked, she sent that from a different number. Now back to my question. You got anything you wanna tell me?"

"Uhm-"

"And if you say no, it's gone piss me off more than I already am. Cus from the looks of this video, it sounds like you might've gotten an abortion." he pulled his gun from beside his waist and sat it on the table

The way she was talking in the video did kind of make it seem like that. But of course that wasn't the secret at all.

"Mekai, don't play with me."

"Oh I ain't playin'. You might wanna hurry up and give me some typa' answer, I'm gettin' impatient." he rested his elbows on his knees

"You know I wouldn't get a fuckin' abortion! Especially not after what I went through!" she was becoming upset now

"Lower yo fuckin' voice!" his voice boomed

"Fuck you." she headed towards the bedroom to go take a shower

"Don't walk away from me when I'm talking to you." He followed

"Mekai, leave me alone right now." she tried to calm herself down, she felt her heartbeat racing

"Did you abort my fuckin' child?!" he yanked her arm, turning her body towards him

"No!" she yelled "I can't have kids!" tears ran down her face

"What?" his grip on her arm softened

"I can't...I cant carry a child full term." she finally said "I've had 2 miscarriages since the one in the hospital. The possibility of me ever giving you a child is thin." it was like her heart broke with every last word

Mekai stood there stuck.

"Please say something..." she felt tears building up in her eyes

He turned towards her and hugged her "Why didn't you say something?" he squeezed her a little "I'm so sorry you went through that shit alone. Why you ain't tell me?" he said in her ear as she cried

He picked her up and took her into the bathroom. He undressed himself, then her, and they both got in the shower. Kyla was confused as to what he was doing, but she didn't say anything.

"This doesn't make me love you any less." he hugged her "And I'm still gonna marry you." he kissed on her wet exposed skin "And we got a possibility, we gonna try till we can't no more." he lifted her chin up

"I hear you." she nodded

"I love you"

"I love you too" she pecked his lips

They took care of their hygiene, turned off the lights, lit some candles, and cuddled naked.

"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked, wanting to know

"It makes me feel like less of a woman...I didn't want you to hate me." she said quietly

"You're not, you hear me? And I could never hate yo ass, I need you more than my next breath. You my everything." he wrapped his arms around her

"You're mine too. I'm sorry for keeping this from you, you had a right to know." she said

"No need to apologize, I didn't necessarily make it easy for you to talk to me."

"From now on, we tell each other everything and we're focused on building a stronger relationship. I don't wanna get married and end up having problems."

"I feel you. We'll work on it." he pecked her forehead

She snuggled into his chest, hearing his heartbeat. The sound of it was so beautiful to her ears she just wanted to lay there forever.
