"Baby, I'm bouta' go, I'll see you later." Mekai gave Kyla a peck on the lips

"Where you going?" she asked

"To class" he looked at her with a confused expression

"Your class doesn't start until 8:15" she squinted

"Babe, you gotta learn to trust me." He sighed

"I'm trying Kai, it's hard...I know you keep saying it was an accident, but it's gonna take some time for me."

"I understand, and I plan on gaining your trust back. I want you to know I meant what I said." he cupped her chin

She nodded "Ok"

"But for now, I gotta go baby." he pecked her lips again "I love you."

"I love you too" she called out to him as he headed for the door

"I'm so glad we both had free time today." Laura leaned her head back, enjoying her foot massage

"Yeah, this was wayyy overdue. I haven't been to the nail salon in about a month now." Kyla turned on the chair massager

"You been dealing with a lot. I'm glad things are getting back on track though."

"It's like our love is too strong to ignore. No matter how pissed off we get at each other."

"Because nigga, y'all are soulmates. Even Bridgett burnin' ass can't come between that." Laura took a sip of her orange juice

"She was never the reason for us breaking up, don't give her that much credit." Kyla laughed "We broke up because I don't like my trust being tampered with, we all know Bridgett ain't got shit on me." She fanned her hand

"Speak of the fuckin' hot Cheeto." Laura pointed towards the door

Kyla bit down on the inside of her jaw to keep herself calm. She knew if she started snapping on Bridgett, there was no stopping. Was she the reason for the breakup? No, but she played a part.

"She still walking round with her face covered up, you must've left some permanent scars." Laura laughed, being loud on purpose

Kyla chuckled, getting Bridgett's attention. Once Bridgett noticed Kyla being there, she walked back up the front.

"Excuse me, I'd like to reschedule my eyebrow appointment." they heard her whisper to the lady

"You just said how you needed them done really bad." The lady responded

"It can wait" she nervously chuckled, rushing out the nail salon

Kyla and Laura looked at each other before busting out laughing.

"You got her scared"

"She needa' be scared of dick, maybe she'll stop being so thirsty for it."

"I'm so glad you agreed to try this place. The food is amazing" Kyla's eyes lit up as she looked over the menu

"I had a small piece of your food from here before. I think it was a Cuban egg roll or something."

"Oh yeah. A small piece? Bitch you ate it all." Kyla chuckled

"Oh" Laura chuckled too, tucking her lips in

"We always bump into each other at food places" Professor Edwards stopped at Kyla's table

Laura and Kyla gave each other a weird look, but they both got the message.

"Yeah" she smiled

"Great minds think alike, huh?" he stared at her

Kyla awkwardly chuckled.

"Oh, Mekai and Dom said they're on their way." Laura blurted out

"They're always late for date night" she played along, rolling her eyes

"Oh, I thought Mekai was your brother."

"My brother? Why would you think that?"

"Yeah. Why?" Laura didn't like the vibe this Professor Edwards guy gave off

"I always see you guys together and the other day I saw him at the restaurant, you know before you said you had a family emergency"

"Oh." she gave a fake chuckle "No, he's my boyfriend."

"Figures... I'll see you in class tomorrow Kyla" he said before walking off

"I don't like his weird ass" Laura said as soon as he was away from the table good

"Me neither, but he's my Professor." She shrugged

"Baby, let me tell you about who I saw today" Kyla walked in the house, sitting her bags down

"You took the whole store home, didn't you?" Mekai asked, seeing all the bags

"I got something you gonna love in there" she smirked, wrapping her arms around his waist

Her short frame stood under his tall one

"Really? Let me see" he bit his lip

"Punishment, remember? I haven't forgotten. No nookie nookie for you."

Mekai sucked his teeth "Ok, who you see today?"

"Bridgett. She still covering her face and stuff, she saw me and basically ran out the nail salon." she picked her bags off the couch

"Well Sunshine, you probably permanently damaged the bitch's face." He shrugged "You hit 'bout as hard as me." he took the rest of them, following her to the bedroom

"Thank you." she smiled, sitting the bags in the closet

"No problem, crazy."

"Excuse you?" She chuckled, putting her new items away

"You crazy as hell too, that's why we addicted to each other."

"You might have a point." she finished putting her things away "What you want for dinner?"

"Nope, I'm cooking dinner tonight." he wrapped his arms around her

"I hope you know you still ain't getting no pussy"

"Girl, my main goal is getting you to fully trust me again. I'll worry about pussy later"

"How much later?" she grinned

"I don't know, but you know I'm a feen for you." he gave her soft butt a squeeze

"Likewise" she stared at him, running her nail along his neck "What you cooking?"

"It's a surprise. I got a surprise for you when you get out the shower too." He gave her butt a slap as she walked away

"All these surprises." she smirked

"Start expecting them more often. I don't show you how much I appreciate you enough."

"Kai yes you-"

"Go get comfortable." He cut her off "I'ma be finishing dinner. Meet me on the rooftop when you done."

Kyla got out the shower and put on some comfortable clothes.

She headed up to the rooftop like Mekai instructed.

"Baby" she called once she got up there

"Over here" he replied, lighting one last candle

"What's all this?" She stared at the set up

"Dinner." He placed the plates on the table  and pulled her chair out

"This is beautiful, I feel like I should've put on something cuter" she looked down at her pajamas

"No, you look perfect." he pecked her cheek as she sat down

"Chicken Parmesan? You told me you didn't know how to make it."

"I called my mama and asked for some help." he chuckled, sitting down

"Aw baby, this is so sweet." she blushed "And it looks so good"

"It taste good too, if I must say so myself." he rubbed his goatee

"Let me hurry up and eat then." They both dug in

After eating, they were cuddled up on the little lounging area Mekai set up.

"This is so nice, thank you baby." she laid in his arms, wrapped in her blanket

"You deserve it." She felt him shifting around behind her "You deserve the world...and I wanna give it to you." he opened the ring box

She looked at the ring, feeling her heartbeat speed up.

"What you say to that?" He asked
