I want to just enjoy these few moments

But I can hear the clock chiming 

Hands callously ticking

Unaware that its counting down to the day of our death

At least that's what I had always believed 

However, when the time came

For my heart to slow 

And blood to cease running

The clock kept ticking 

That's when I realized 

It was never counting down 

To my death nor anyone else's

With or without you,

The hands will continue ticking

Because life always moves on
