𝑽𝑨𝑳𝑬𝑵𝑻𝑰𝑵𝑨 𝑯𝑨𝑾𝑻𝑯𝑶𝑹𝑵𝑬 𝑾𝑨𝑺 used to being the mistake. Unlike the rest of her kind, she was neither prejudiced nor proper. She didn't wear the silver and emerald robes that those of Slytherin house did, she instead sported glistened bronze and sapphire that were a vulgar sight to latch onto her mother and father's eyes.

Vale's entire state of living was swarmed in disappointment, her parents turning up their noses whenever she walked by dressed in robes of sapphire. She wasn't like the others that dwelled in the prissy home, she wasn't a serpent. She did not care if a hair was out of place or if her tie was not fastened in a perfect knot. She was instead smart, clever, engulfed in the traits of her Hogwarts House, Ravenclaw.

Yet their prejudice still managed to take its toll on her. When anyone looked upon the Hawthorne girl, they saw her kind. She was forever tied to the purebloods and the likes of Draco Malfoy (a boy who made her feel sick to her stomach). Valentina had only a small collection of friends, those who would dare touch the raven and find out who she truly was. She cherished them with everything she had, friends becoming the real family she always had longed for. 

And while many might think that being the mistake in the eyes of your parents would be a horrible thing, in Vale's case it was a blessing. It made her kind and free, it made the blood in her veins feel like nothing special at all. And she discovered that if she wasn't a detested accident, perhaps she never would have met him, and perhaps she never would have found happiness in the most unusual of places.
