I stare at the door as my right hand lingers on the doorknob. This is it. No going back now. But is it really to late. Ugh why did I even agree to this? Oh wait I was ordered too. I sighed in frustration. Maybe I should just go? I decided with going on my instincts but before I could turn away, the door opens revealing a rather handsome James.

"You look ravishing Alice. Quite the sight indeed." I feel my cheeks heat up. I smiled shyly

"Thank you. You look very handsome tonight James" he held out his arm for me take and led me into his dinning room. I gasped at the sight. White sheets lay on top of the table. There was a candelabra in the middle and plates set on each side. One side had a beautiful bouquet of red roses. He sat me down and handed me the flowers

"Beautiful flowers for a beautiful girl" he turned around and grabbed a bottle of wine and poured me a glass.

"Ms. Evers!" He yelled for the old lady. Soon she arrives rolling in a trail with two silver tray covers.

"Hello miss Alice. You look lovely" she comments as she poured me a glass of wine. She moves over to James side and poured some into his glass. She left the bottle on the table and grabbed the two silver trays and placed one infront of each of us. I muttered I silent thank you as she nods her head.

"Thank you Ms. Evers. You can leave us be know" he announced while his eyes stayed on me the entire time. I feel uncomfortable under his gaze like he was judging my appearance.

"Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?" I feel heat rise up to my cheeks

"James your too nice" I shyly commented. This was probably the only conversation I've had with a man. Especially a handsome one.

"I'm just speaking the truth. Alice, do tell me about you" he asked smiling encouragingly.

"Well what do you want to know?"

"Everything. Your favorite color. How old you are. Your family. Anything you want to say."

"Well then my full name is Alice Elizabeth Goode. I was born on October 31st 1903. I'm an only child. I never really knew my father. I'm from New Orleans. That's pretty much it" I laughed softly. He smiled as he leaned forward.

"What about you James. I hardly know anything about you" I asked bravely.

"Well my name is James Patrick March. I was born February 20th 1899. I'm originally from New York. My mother died giving birth to me and my father was the biggest bitch I've ever met. And my favorite color is red." He finished. He laughed it off as did I but I found that new bit of information a little odd. But I didn't let it bother me. We ate our food in silence until James broke it.

"Can you tell me anything about witchcraft?" I looked up shocked.

"You don't have to if you don't want to." He quickly added. I shook my head.

"No it's quite alright" I took a sip of my wine.
"What do you want to know?"

"I understand that a witch can have a gift and such. What is it?" He looked genuinely curious. Should I actually tell him some stuff. Maybe I can just tell him the basics. Yes that'll do.

"Well each witch can have a gift or multiple gifts our of 7 powers. There is Divination, pyrokinesis , descensum, vitalum vitalis, transmutation, con ilium, and telekinesis. If a witch posses multiple gifts, they would participate in the 7 wonders. It's a competition to find the next leader witch." I breathed out. I said to much. Alice you idiot. What would your mother say.

"That's amazing. It's so interesting. How come you were hidden?" I was reluctant at first but something was making me trust him.

"Well humans aren't very fond of witches. Our blood dates back during the Salem witch trials. And most of my kind was killed because they thought we would harm them. They thought we were the creations of the devil"

"So what you are saying is that religion is what caused you to go into hiding?" He raised his eyebrows.

"Yes" I smiled sadly. He reached over and held my hand.

"I'm sorry to hear about that. Don't worry I'm not very religious at all" he rubbed small circles in my hands. I feel a funny feeling in my stomach. As if a million butterflies are in my stomach.

"It's getting late. I should go" I began to stand up until his hand tightens his grip on mine.

"You can stay longer if you want"

"James I'd love to but I really should be on my way." I objected. He sighed and let go of my hand.

"Let me escort you out" he stood up and led me to the door. I turned around and I realized he was standing close.

"Tonight was lovely James."

"I'm glad you had an amazing time" he smiled. I blushed. He grabbed my hand once more and place a soft kiss on them.

"Until we meet again Alice"
