P.O.V - Flashback

It was a muggy summer day, unrelenting rays of sunshine raining down on the earth. She wanted nothing more than to run straight to her cabin, and unleash some sort of cooling spell. But alas, she had to run some errands. She was running low on several ingredients for her latest potion, and it was of the upmost importance that she gathers the supplies quickly. Not to mention, she wanted to get out of this unbearable heat.

She decided to take a shortcut through the darker part of the forest, a path she didn't usually take. She wanted to get home as quickly as possible, and sought the short, shaded path through the unknown. All she wanted was to plop down and waller around in the comfort of her home.

So, she walked through the forest, and kept going...and going...and going-

It seemed never-ending, like she was walking in a circle. She could've sworn she had seen that tree before, and that rock. She had seen it all before, yet whenever she took a different route, she ended up back at the same exact spot.

She tried not to panic, she couldn't be going mad...it was just the heat of the sun, right? She wasn't going crazy, she can't be going crazy.

Right as she was about to scream out in frustration, to rip her hair out and have a mental breakdown, there was a quiet giggle. Almost inaudible as her own thoughts banged against her skull deafeningly, her heart beating in her ears. Nevertheless, it was loud enough to catch her attention, the giggle the only sound she heard from the forest since she entered the unknown.

She snapped her head towards the sound, eyes turning wide as she searched desperately for the culprit. Turning in a tight circle, searching for someone, for something, but there was absolutely nothing.

Maybe I am going mad-

"You aren't going mad love,"

She shrieked, jumping at the deep velvety sound of a man's voice resonating through the quiet space. She wasn't expecting that, the voice was sudden, sounding as though it came from nowhere and everywhere all at the same time. It gently echoed off the trees, its tone carrying almost like a lullaby.

She waited for the voice to speak again, just to make sure she didn't imagine it, that she wasn't insane.

"Are you lost?"

The tone was sultry by nature, honey like tone dripping with underlying clandestine. The lady knew not to trust such a voice, she knew of what creatures lurked in the dark. Those who preyed on the weak, seducing their victims with well selected words. With that thought in mind, she remained silent.

Another giggle resounded through the space, a voice barely above a whisper tickling hot against her ear.

"I asked you a question,"

She whipped around so fast, she nearly twisted herself in her cloak. Although as she looked around, there was no one there. She was completely alone in the small clearing. She narrowed her eyes, still sticking to her vow of silence.

"Not much of a talker, are you?"

Out of the corner of her eye, a few branches swayed, dragging her attention away from where she was boring holes into the bark of a dark oak.

She squinted at the branches, searching for something to indicate the owner of this voice. When suddenly, a pair of bright blue eyes snapped open staring straight at the witch. She stumbled back, the azure eyes stalking her every move.

The eyes appeared to be floating, shrouded in the surrounding shrubbery. Although the eyes soon disappeared, nowhere to be seen by the witch. She took a hesitant step forward, curious to see what happened to the floating sapphires.

It was deafeningly silent, she was ready to give up and go straight home to her comfy bed, when a pair of bare feet swung themselves from the branch. A tall, slender figure appeared, slinking down the trunk of the tree. His bare feet soundlessly coming to rest on the ground, towering effortlessly over the witch.

The man wasn't intimidating per se, he just gave off a strange vibe, leaving the woman queasy in his presence.

His peered down at her through his curtain of black fringe, scanning the witch with his emotionless caerulean gaze. His hair was long enough to cover his eyes, so ethereal it looked as though it was blurred, maybe even glowing. A loose white shirt hung onto his sun kissed figure, far too large to be his. He tilted his head to the side, looking effortlessly gorgeous. Far too stunning, it wasn't natural.

"What's your name love?"

The man's voice came out quite flat, the question seeming more like a suggestion than anything else. Like he already knew the answer, but wanted to hear it from her own mouth. She had a fleeting thought to tell him, to tell him so much, but she kept her lips sealed tightly.

He smirked, what was probably meant to be charming, appearing more condescending.

"Jisoo? That's a pretty name, for a pretty girl,"

He smiled at Jisoo's bewildered expression, knowing he had her right where he wanted.

"How did you know?"

It was more or less a question to herself, her mind getting more and more muddled the longer she stood in the presence of the mystery man. Said man shrugged nonchalantly, brushing off her question.

"Are you, or are you not lost?"

He slowly circled Jisoo, twiddling with a lavender colored flower in between his forefinger and thumb. Clearly expecting an answer, all while seeming nonchalant.

"Am I lost?"

"That is what I asked isn't it?"

The simple question caught her off guard, what should be an elementary answer became so much more complicated.

"Yes?"

"Yes? You are lost? You seem confused,"

His cat like gaze locked onto her own, burning Jisoo's eye sockets. He held the flower limply in his hand, still tilting his head at her, patiently waiting for an answer.

Jisoo stared dumbly at him, mouth slightly agape. Her mind went blank, till a glint of light caught her eye. Jisoo's gaze flited to his neck where a shiny collar was swathed snuggly around his neck. Intricate patterns and runes inscribed into the iron, a dully glowing sapphire gem fastened to a pendent resting delicately against his breastbone. How had she not noticed that before?

He cleared his throat, bringing Jisoo's attention back to the present. Blushing slightly because she had been caught staring, Jisoo shifted from one foot to the other. Jisoo knew she's seen collars like that before, but where.

"Yes, I am lost,"

"You sure about that?"

"Yes, I'm sure,"

He nodded to himself, gaze shifting briefly to the ground as if contemplating something.

"Well it's your lucky day," he declared turning his back to Jisoo, "You my friend, have run into the right occult,"

Since his back was to her, Jisoo couldn't see the sinister grin overtaking the man's face, nor the way his eyes and pendent flashed topazolite.

"These parts of the forest are filled with malevolent occults, but you my love," He turned back around, staring into her wide, innocent eyes, "Have found a diamond in the rough,"

"Are you saying," She narrowed her eyes in skepticism, "That you'll help me find my way out?"

His smile grew to Cheshire lengths, loving the way Jisoo was starting to trust him so easily, even after just offering her help.

"Why, of course! It would be my honor to help such a lovely birdie, to be her knight in shining armor," The man bowed to her in a display of reverence, he had always had a way with words.

"Really?" Jisoo looked up at him, eyes wide with new found hope. Maybe she was wrong about this man, I mean, he is offering to help Jisoo find her way home.

But what she didn't know, was that he was the reason she got lost in the first place.

"Of course, love, you live in the cabin in the meadows correct?"

She gawked at him.

"How did you know- "

"Lucky guess? There aren't many places one like you could live in around here, such a beauty deserves a castle, but a guess a cabin is the next best thing?"

Jisoo giggled at his flirtatious words, completely falling under his purported spell.

"Yes, that is my cabin,"

She confirmed, blushing sheepishly at the chortle she received in return.

"Well then, we better get going before sun fall, now shouldn't we?"

He asked a lot of rhetorical questions, but she felt obligated to answer all of them.

"Of course! Plus, I don't want to be too much of a trouble,"

He quickly denied her assumption, turning to start their trek towards the meadow. When he suddenly felt a cold hand wrap around his wrist, tugging him to a stop. He twisted back around, giving Jisoo a puzzled look. Red spread across Jisoo's face, looking embarrassedly at the ground.

"You know, I think it's quite unfair that you know my name, yet you haven't provided me your own. I think is should at least know my knights name,"

He grinned for the nth time that day, looking down at the blushing witch.

"Taehyung, Kim Taehyung,"
