Chapter: 5

(A/N: Sorry for posting so late at night, the WiFi is down and I had to spend like 2 hours trying to get this up)

P.O.V Unknown

"You idiot! You're going to get us both killed!"

The garnet eyed man just simply ignored the abnormally tall human, instead focusing on the unconscious human in his hold. He was surprisingly heavy, but then again, he was like 75% muscle.

"We're going to get caught, then they'll throw us into jail, I won't be able to protect you- "

"I can protect myself thank you very- "

"We'll be trialed, slandered, and-and then KILLED!"

"WE'RE GOING TO BE BURNED AT THE STAKE- "

The smaller rolled his eyes at the tallers antics, ignoring his ranting and "what ifs". Letting him get it all out of his system, so he could be of some use.

"Are you done yet?!"

The younger instantly shut up, peering over at the struggling occult. The older was barely holding him up, looking as though he was holding an anvil and not a human. The taller sighed, mumbling incoherently as he swiftly picked up the other human. With no struggle, he carried him bridal style to the bed. Taking the upmost care to ensure that he wouldn't hurt the unconscious boy. Once he was successfully situated on the bed, the occult started to pout.

"You didn't even break a sweat- "

"It's because I don't abuse magic, and use it every chance I get. I do things the old-fashioned way," In an almost condescending manner, the taller started to pat the smallers head. A smug smile plastered on his face. The garnet eyed male swat at the hand on his head, snarling at his so-called boyfriend.

"I hate you- "

"You know, you are so adorable when you're mad,"

The other sputtered, thrown off by the sudden declaration. His face turning a brighter garnet than that of his eyes.

"I'm not adorable," He grumbled, head hung low as to not let the other see his crimson face.

"Mhmmm," The younger smiled in triumphant, seeing his blush even though his chin was tucked firmly to his chest.

"Stop flirting, we have work to do," The occult quickly scampered over to the bed, desperate to change the subject. As he quietly willed the burning sensation to leave his face, he observed the priest-in-training.

His body was covered in a thin layer of sweat, his raven locks stuck sporadically in different directions to his forehead. Pain etched his features, a constant string of whimpers leaving his sealed lips. He knew this wasn't due to the boy's physical wounds, this was clearly the work of magic.

"This is so much worse than I thought," he sighed. A sudden sense of exhaustion took over him, this was going to take a lot of magic to fix.

"What is it? Is he already dead? Is there even any chance of saving him now?" Although the taller seemed like he didn't care for the other human moments before, he sure seemed concerned now. Then again, they already have gotten this far, so it would be a waste of a trip if they weren't able to save him.

"I can fix the physical injuries, and I can help stabilize the magic in his body," He furrowed his eyebrows as his looked at the emerald haze flowing through the boy's veins, it seemed to be everywhere. It wasn't natural, there was far too much magic in his body. But what didn't make sense was that the magic wasn't attacking the human, albeit magic was the cause of his current state.

"But?"

The occult sighed heavily, looking defeated.

"He'll eventually revert back to this state, except it will be much worse and much more painful. It appears his body's rejecting the magic within him. So, I will only be prolonging the enviable." He looked so completely and utterly defeated, and they have yet to even get started.

The human smiled sadly at his boyfriend, knowing how much the other wanted to save this boy.

"We can try our best, maybe he'll find some way to accept it?"

"I-I honestly don't know, I don't think he even knows that there's magic in him,"

"He should have had some odd incidents occur, experience some sort of change in his normal day-to-day life?"

"Doesn't mean he'll just suddenly think its magic, he's human. He has always been human, so why would magic suddenly become a factor in his life?"

The taller sighed, because he did have a good point. If something weird would've happened to him, he probably would just chalk it up as an odd occurrence. He wouldn't think that magic was the cause of this, especially if one had had no contact with magic before. Humans have been bred to fear and despise magic, lord knows what would happen if some human started to shout about how they gained magical abilities overnight. There would be widespread panic, executions everyday-

"How about we just worry about one thing at a time? Maybe we can look into this after we fix up his current condition, alright?"

The older sighed, slowly nodding his head. It would be better to make sure Jungkook doesn't expire before they could investigate this quite peculiar issue.

"Take off his shirt and flip him so he's on his stomach." He said sternly, the younger following the orders without hesitation. Stripping the man of his shirt, and carefully flipping him over.

The man's back was a mixture of yellow, purple, and blue. His insides could only be worse, it was a shock he even lasted a day, much less a week.

"He should be long dead," the garnet eyed man said, "Even normal magic wouldn't be able to preserve one for this long, especially with so much damage."

"Then why is he still breathing?"

There was a chilling moment of silence. The taller looked at the smallers face, frightened to see such a grave expression gracing the others features.

"I don't think that was any normal witch, that thing is much more powerful than anything I've ever encountered, that I've even read about. The fact that even a fraction of the hosts magic could sustain a human's bodily functions is- "

He looked over towards the other human, stopping himself when he saw his horrified expression. The occult having to remind himself that his lover isn't used to any magic besides his own, and the occasional lecture of how faeries aren't just pixies but also elves as well. But that beside the point, he was scaring the human, which was not his intention.

"Hey, look, there's no need to worry. This is moral magic flowing through his body, not malevolent. And considering the fact you're involved with me, a hybrid of two evils, I think you have nothing to worry about." He smiled reassuringly towards the human, relieved when he saw the small smile he got in return.

"Okay, so what are you going to do? What do I need to do?"

"Well, I need to put a rune on his body for one. Specifically, where the most damage is," He motioned towards Jungkook's back, "And once I 'paint' the rune on it will become permanent and will slowly heal the human. Eventually the rune will start to fade once he's fully recovered, but the rune never truly fades,"

"Wait-what do you mean by 'paint'? And what'd you mean permanent?"

The occult didn't let the other question him any further, crawling onto the bed and straddling the man's legs. He then proceeded to pull out a garnet pendent that was conveniently hidden under his shirt.

"Woah, hey! What are you doing- "

"Hold him down." The command was short and straight to the point, and after standing dumbfounded for what felt like hours, the taller snapped out of his little trance. Looking straight at his boyfriend and his cocked eyebrow, he started to wave his arms wildly at the two. Too dumbfounded to voice out any words, or coherent sentences.

The occult looked confused, not understanding his boyfriends wild hand gestures. Then it hit him the precarious position he had taken. He rolled his eyes, finally understanding what the taller was getting at.

"Oh, don't give me that, at the end of the day I'm still dating you. You're still the meathead that I sleep with every night, so don't be jealous that this other handsome human is getting some of this," He gestured towards himself and couldn't help but laugh at his lovers affronted mien.

"You slut- "

"That's me! Now hurry up and hold him down, the clocks ticking." The younger rolled his eyes, but obliged anyway. Taking a position towards the headboard, he hovered over Jungkook. Wrapping his hands around his biceps, he put all his weight into pushing the boy down.

"I'm sorry Jungkook, this is going to hurt...a lot." The last part came out as a whisper, and before the taller could question it. The smaller held the pendent to his lips, muttering something into the gem, causing it to glow a bright cerise. A crimson hue filled the otherwise dark room, only adding to the unsettling atmosphere.

He held the gem towards the beginning of the spine, near the top of Jungkook's back. He pressed it to the skin, and almost instantly the unconscious man beneath them started to violently thrash. His screams coming out muffled, as his head was being pushed into the pillow by the tallers knee. The human only hoping the other could get enough oxygen.

The smaller slowly started to trace a design into his skin, the 'ink' coming out red then slowly turned black once left to sit. The human was mesmerized by the movement of his boyfriend's hand, as he worked.

Neither knew how long it had been, only focused with the task at hand. Keep him as still as possible, keep him as quiet as possible, finish the design, and bolt.

Jungkook was struggling horribly towards the last few lines, his screams coming out hoarse and almost inaudible. His pillow had been soaked through with tears, and he was on the verge of passing out. Finally, the smaller connected the final line to the rest of the design, wings that took up the expanse of his whole back. The design glowed red, before fading back to bold ebony lines.

The human stared in awe as when he shifted positions, the colors of the winged design would shift as well. Going from a beautiful reflective black, to a glassy red, the outline incessantly black. After a few minutes of the human shifting back and forth, and the occult watching in amusement, there was a quiet knock at the door.

The two froze, staring intently at the door. Soon another knock resonated through the quaint room, prompting the two to shoot off the bed. The smaller ran into the tallers arms, wrapping their arms around each other, there was a sudden flash of light, and then-

They were gone.

I was getting concerned after the third knock, Jungkook wasn't a heavy sleeper. He should have at least responded by now. I give it one last knock, and then decided that the silence was my go ahead to walk in.

Last I left him he wasn't very pleased, so I let him have some alone time. He's still a teenager anyway, an adult, yes, but still a teenager nonetheless. It's been at least 2 hours and it was nearly midnight, but he hasn't been getting that much sleep, if any at all. So, naturally I assumed that he was up.

I tried my best to ignore the flash of light that showed itself through the cracks in the door. Just my imagination, I had thought.

As I enter the room, the first thing I notice is the odd atmosphere that hung in the room. My breathing felt just a little bit more restricted, and I felt a sudden cold wrap itself around me. I shivered as I continued in, the darkness around me seemly darker than usual. The only light that offered itself was the small crack that was left between the door and doorframe, giving the room an even eerier look.

Then my eyes land on a shirtless, sweaty figure on the bed. The breathing was labored, and the figure seamlessly matched the stature of Jeon Jungkook himself. But as I neared Jungkook, I became painfully aware of his state of being-

And the great, angelic design of wings on his back.

(A/N: Hope that was enough action for you guys! I have so much more planned. This is gonna be fun😈)
