(September 11, 2019: Vale City, Republic of Remnant)

In the midst of Kree-Lizard invasion and wee hours of the morning, the half-Kree woman heavily breathed and panted as she yelled in pain. The medics were attending to her strenuous labor within the premises of the former Beacon Academy turned evacuation center. A brunette Caucasian man from SHIELD was walking to and fro and waiting for his new girlfriend to bear his daughter. A long haired dark haired man with a ponytail looked concerned at his Aussie SHIELD Agent friend.

" Tim..." the man called his attention and smiled. " I know you look excited about your daughter. I would like to congratulate you in advance and celebrate your parenthood. "

" I know, mate, " Tim smiled back at him and replied. " After this bloody invasion, Carol and I will get married soon. We will settle very soon in Down Under and continue our family life there. "

Gladius Fernal never wanted to give his friend such false hopes and heavily sighed. He understood the world would be needing more heroes at this time of despair. Tim noticed his Remnite friend's sudden silence and crossed his both arms.

" Gladius, is there something wrong in what I have said? " the Australian SHIELD Agent curiously asked.

" Tim, I will be honest with you, " Gladius seriously broke his silence and leaned his back on the wall. " I'm not even sure if you and Carol will be together in times of hardships. She lost Rhodey more than a year ago which she's having a hardtime in dealing with her loss. I know you tried your best to be with her and brought her here in Remnant, but everyone would be needing her help the most. "

Agent Tim Hughes sadly sighed and found it hard to accept. He felt dismayed and bowed his head. Gladius gently patted his friend's back to pacify him. Just then, they both heard when a newborn child's faint cry was echoing in the corridors. A female Dog Faunus physician in a turquoise scrubsuit appeared to them.

" Mr. Tim Hughes, " she called the Aussie man and cheerfully smiled. " Congratulations, you're a father to Captain Marvel's daughter. "

" May I see her doctor, please? " Tim asked.

" Yes, of course, " the lady doctor nodded. " It will be for a while. "

" Right-O, thank you! " the brunette man nodded and turned to the mutant. " See you later, mate. "

" Yeah, sure, " Gladius smiled. " I'll catch you up, Buddy! "

" Ta! "

Tim entered the room and saw his girlfriend carrying her little lady in her arms. Carol Danvers smiled at her Australian boyfriend and kissed his cheeks. The baby girl wrapped in a pink blanket cooed at her parents as they were pleased to meet her.

" Here's our bundle of joy, Tim! " she happily exclaimed.

" I know, Love. She looks like you, " Tim replied and touched his daughter's fingers.

" She has your smile, " Carol answered. " Tell me, what will be the little girl's name? "

" That's quite an interesting question, Love. I want a very unique name for her. Let's say, Eumeralla! "

" Eu...Eu...Eucalyptus? "

" No, you silly! Eumeralla is a name of a tree from Australia! " Tim loudly laughed.

" How about Marie as her second name? " Carol suggested. " I'm thinking to add that after my late mother. Why not Ella as her nickname? How does it sound? ""

" Absolutely, it is perfect for her! Eumeralla Marie Danvers-Hughes! What a lovely name for such a beautiful lass like her! " the new father enthusiastically exclaimed. " Love, I have been realising about leaving Remnant to Australia. I hope we can remain together as a normal family. Honestly, I really want to be with you and Ella there for good. "

" Tim, I love to be with you and our daughter, but..."

" Why? What's wrong? Is it you can't let go of War Machine's demise? Carol, I really want to be with you despite of this danger! I will protect you and Ella, no matter what. "

Carol sadly sighed and looked at her daughter and boyfriend with a concern when she remained silent and carried Little Eumeralla in her arms. She recalled a deal with an Atlesian soldier and the man named Qrow Branwen when she was pregnant. The half-Kree woman thought of disclosing the truth to Tim, but she was afraid she would offend him and her daughter. Suddenly, someone was knocking on the door when the Aussie SHIELD Agent instantly stood up and opened it. A tall middle aged man in a white shirt and dark pants came along with a young dark-haired man with a set of brown eyes. Lieutenant Rune Strongberg of the Atlas Ace Operatives who turned to be one of President Ironwood's bodyguards was a lanky person with a medium height who stood beside Qrow Branwen.

" Hello, Miss Danvers, " Qrow called her attention and greeted. " Me and this Atlesian Kid had come to make a deal. "

" I knew you two had come along, " she gloomily answered and carried the child. " You don't have to tell me twice. "

" Carol?! " Tim raised his voice. " What are you talking about? What deal?! I don't understand! "

" Tim, I should have told you in the first place, but I don't want you and Ella to be in deep danger. Remnant is no longer safe to live here and stay as a family, " the half-Kree bitterly wept and answered. " You guys need to go along with Rune to Australia, without me. "

" No! It can't be! This is ridiculous! Carol, I promised you..."

" Tim, sacrifices must be done. I have a duty to fulfill, but I know it's so heartbreaking and difficult as a mother to leave my daughter. You're a parent, too. Just promise to take care of Ella for me. "

" Carol...No...."

The half-Kree woman kissed Tim and then put her lips to Ella for the last time when she brought the infant to her father and watered her eyes. Ella began crying and felt she was being separated from her mother. Rune and Qrow watched this moment and felt sorry for the new family as they were forced to leave.

" I'm so sorry, Ella, Tim. I will always love you both! " she cried. " I will never forget you! "

" Carol..." Tim sobbed and carried his daughter when Rune assisted them to leave the premises. His girlfriend covered her face and kept weeping.

" I'm sorry, Tim, " Rune calmly spoke. " We need to go. "

Qrow remained in Carol's bedside and watched them leaving when he heavily sighed. Hearing the baby's loud wailing, Gladius and his wife Aqune watched the father gloomily walking away at the corridor. Rune brought them into the jetplane and closed the door when he maneuvered and made hovering into the dark cloudy skies. Inside the fleet, Tim was silent and baffled as he became downtrodden with the separation. Ella was still shrieking in sadness when her voice echoed all of over the aircraft. Rune was piloting it and turning to them.

" Look, " the young Atlesian soldier seriously spoke. " I know you have dreams and promises to fulfill, but sacrifices are tough and important. Eventually, you guys will understand the benefit. I assure you, I will visit you and Ella as I made a vow to Captain Marvel. I will never ever break her promise. "

(September 8, 2040: Geelong, State of Victoria, Australia)

A young woman with dark-blonde hair spent tirelessly working and tinkering at a stolen Kree technology in hours when she used her tools to make any alterations and thought of putting it into the empty aircraft's hull. She wiped her hands with a towel and placed her wrench down, taking a drink of a cold bottled orange juice. Lieutenant Eumeralla Marie Danvers-Hughes of the Australian Rebel Forces was listening to a loud heavy metal rock music as a form of making her alive while working inside her father's garage.

Suddenly, Commander Tim Hughes stood up at the doorway and crossed his arms. Ella paused her music and placed the empty bottle down the table, near the tool box. She was instantly hugging her father and laughing.

" Hullo my dear lovely tree girl! " he greeted her.

" Dad, you're here! " she happily exclaimed. " I didn't realise you to come! What brings you here? "

" I can't wait for another three days to celebrate my daughter's twenty-first birthday! "

" But I thought you're busy bugging those invaders in Perth and raiding slave dens in Brisbane! "

" I assigned some additional reinforcements from Remnant and New Zealand to do the job with us. So, I can come to join them after your special day, Love! "

" Right-O, Pacific Allies! "

The middle aged man closely looked at his daughter and smiled at her. Eumeralla's lovely face was a chip of Carol's block when Tim kept remembering of his previous girlfriend when he met her in the Kree-Lizard invasion in New York and Vale City. Ella curiously noticed her father's silence and snapped her fingers to call his instant attention.

" Dad! " she raised her voice. " Have you been daydreaming? "

" Oh! Goodness! " Tim loudly laughed. " I have just remained catatonic for minutes! I beg your pardon, dear. I just kept looking at your face and reminded me of your mum! "

Hearing his words, Ella's warm smile slowly turned into a frown which she was unhappy. She didn't want to hear anything about her long-absent mother which she has truly despised and resented. The Kree-Terran hybrid crossed her arms and glared at her father.

" Dad, I don't want to hear anything about, mum, " she sternly spoke.

" Ella, you don't understand. You are growing up to be like her. You know there will come a time that we will be reunited soon after this unending war, " he reasoned. " What's wrong with that? "

" Where is she, Dad?! Tell me? " Ella stressed her words. " I have never seen and heard of her in ages! Why on Earth is she being mentioned?! Dad, you told me that she had left us in my birthday twenty years ago. She has forgotten us! I cannot forgive her for that! She's so rude and despicable! I don't even considered her as my mother! "

" Ella, I still love your mother. I know for sure she will return! "

" Return? When, Dad? "

" I cannot say about that, but you need to forgive her. Please, you should understand. "

Ella exasperatedly sighed and became furious when she couldn't focus on her work in remodelling and altering the aircrafts. Tim felt sorry for his daughter which the light conversation turned out to be a heated argument. He thought of giving her some space, but from a distance he saw a familiar figure. The dark haired moustached man in his mid-forties was waving his right arm and holding his rifle at his left hand. Ella paused and noticed him, approaching.

" Uncle Rune! " she happily exclaimed and rushed to him, giving a hug. " How ya goin'? "

" Hello, there, Koala Girl! " Rune cheerfully greeted her and gently petted her head. " I'm here to pay you and your father a visit, of course! "

" Oi, mate! " Tim approached his Remnite friend and shook hands with him.

" It's good to see you again, Commander Hughes. "

" Cheese, mate! Why such formalities? You once called me in my nickname! "

" Well, I still have my respect for you, Commander, " Rune said. " You have brought the remaining forces of Australia, New Zealand, and Remnant together as we continue beating the odds of those dreadful Kree and Lizards. Some members of the Foundation who broke out from their unyielding brothers had come with us too. I believe it's been twenty-two years now. "

" Certainly, it is, Rune, " Tim seriously replied. " It was bloody horrible and very enduring to see our world in chains. "

" Right, " he nodded. " This is what the Kree Eternal Methu-Selah had predicted before hand. I know for sure he's still looking for missing son who will be his worthy successor in the future. I believe his child will be a catalyst for a change against this tyrant. "

" I see. Do you still know of the boy's whereabouts? "

" I have heard rumors that he has been in hiding from Alaska to Europe according to my sources. "

" Dad, Uncle Rune, what are you talking about? " Ella curiously asked.

" It's the Kree Eternal's boy, Ella, " Tim answered. " Not sure where exactly he is. "

" Right-O, " she nodded. " I guess we should talk more while I'm preparing dinner!! "

" That will be nice, Ella, " Rune sincerely smiled. " Thank you! "

During the sundown, the young Kree-Aussie woman and the two men made dinner and ate together. They had talked about those things happened during the early years of Kree-Lizard invasion and some lighter things. The three enjoyed their time together despite of the troubles happened. Tim had spoken some of his achievements and failures in Down Under while Rune listened and shared his experiences in Remnant. Ella enjoyed her time to listen such stories when she finished her desserts.

Just then, the three spent washing the dishes when someone knocked on the door. Tim left his task when he immediately took out his rifle and remained vigilant for any invaders who would dare to attack. The Australian Rebel Forces commander's heart raced and felt such adrenaline which he was ready to fire his weapon. He took a deep breath when Ella and Rune looked at him with a concern. Tim slowly opened the door and aimed at the tall muscular figure who appeared to be Asian looking and wearing dark glasses. The blind man held a metal cane and got startled at the angry Australian man.

" Woah! Woah! Cheese, I am sensing such hostility here! What's wrong?! " he exclaimed.

" Who the hell are you? " Tim indignantly asked and kept pointing his rifle to the blind man.

" First of, please lower your weapon down. Secondly, my name's Fu Strongberg from Republic of Remnant. I'm a huntsman and a mercenary, " he grinned.

" Why are you here? "

" I have heard my brother Rune has been supporting some Remnites, Aussies, Kiwis, and Maoris who deal with those damn invaders, " Fu answered. " Now, I have come in peace and time for such chats. "

Rune became more uneasy than ever when he saw his older blind brother. Back in Remnant, Fu was more aggressive and assertive than him. He used to be a member of the Atlas Ace Operatives along with his brother and the others, however Rune got easily embarrassed at Fu for his wild exploits and shady activities. There was a time when Clover Ebi discovered Fu's involvement for stealing and smuggling Schnee Terrigen dusts to Mantle and other cities of Remnant. Fu got terminated and left the State of Solitas before the Kree-Lizard invasion began. Despite his disability, Fu was able to live a life on his own as a huntsman and mercenary.

" Well, well, well, I can sense my brother's presence! " the blind man chuckled when Tim offered the guest a seat and some snacks, feeling obliged to do so.

" Fu, what are you doing here?! " Rune indignantly asked and confronted his older brother. " You're not supposed to be..."

" It takes three to five hours of travel from Remnant to Australia by plane, my dear brother, " Fu raised his hands interjection. " You are wasting your damn time in joining the Rebel Forces against these space demons! Are you trying to be like Ironwood before he passed away? "

Rune angrily clenched his right fist and instantly grabbed his brother's collar using his left hand. Tim and Ella got startled to witness their family friend's sudden hostility.

" Rune, could you even consider that I'm blind? " Fu sarcastically spoke and gave him a hardy laugh. " I don't mean to be hot headed like you! I just want to have a talk with you and your friends. "

" Fu, I have known what you've done back in Remnant, " his younger brother sternly replied, still holding Fu's shirt collar. " So, what are you going to do here? Making another trouble?! "

" Rune, you're making me laugh the hardest! You haven't changed when I left Ebi's ragtag team of losers and pushovers for the government! Why do you even care for this family too much? How about me as your biological brother? Don't you even care for me too? "

Rune parted away and stood in between the father and daughter as he determinedly spoke, " Because I made a promise to someone who asked me to look after them. Unlike, you! You're nothing but a damn traitor! I won't forgive you in letting my girlfriend Ebony die in the group of insurgents like you! "

" Insurgents?! " Fu smirked and repeated the word. " Speaking of that, I have joined A-List's secret faction in this time of disaster. I am willing to look for a very important treasure that needs to be released. Rune, I know you will be thrilled to do it. I want you to be part of it. Maybe, your friends can help too. "

Ella looked uneasy to the visitor and secretly sensed his mind. She turned to her father and uncle which she thought of defending them, in case things would go south. Fu's intent grin meant something to the Kree-Aussie woman. Rune sighed and never wanted to join his brother's suspicious works. He made up his mind and composed his thoughts to say.

" I am not joining with you, Fu, " he calmly broke his silence. " I'm sorry. You need to go. "

" Rune, this is a great opportunity! I would like you to... "

" You heard him. Get out of here! " Tim angrily exclaimed.

" Fine, " Fu instantly stood up and heatedly growled. " You will regret it someday! "

The blind visitor instantly stormed and left the house when he loudly banged the door. Tim, Ella, and Rune remained silent and shared glances when they returned to their tasks.

Moments later, Rune remained sleepless and gazed at the bright stars within the Southern Cross constellation. He sadly sighed and felt sorry for his beloved one. He sat on the chair at the porch and deeply thought of her. Ella in her oversized shirt and pajamas opened the door and noticed her family friend who was dead silent.

" Uncle Rune, are you supposed to be sleeping in the guest room? " she asked with a concern.

" I'm not that sleepy, Ella, " Rune answered and slightly smiled.

" Tell me what's bothering you? "

" That visitor, my brother Fu, " he seriously said and recalled. " Fu is two years older than me, very aggressively mischievous and sinister. We spent studying and training in Atlas Academy back then. We were very inseparable that we made our missions against the grimm and other bad guys together. After the graduation, we were recruited by Clover Ebi for the Ace Ops. Fu was the most formidable and enthusiastic fighter in the group. He made the team very successful, however something came up to him. "

" What is it? "

" He had an undercover solo mission in Mistral when he was keeping tabs with some underground mafia that deals Adam Taurus' White Fang. His work spent days into months when I was worried for him without any contact with the team. Then, Clover assigned me and my late girlfriend Ebony to scout the place, until we both found out Fu became involved with smuggling and stealing Schnee dusts. "

" So, he betrayed and ditched you all along? " Ella surmised.

" Yeah, I tried to reasoned with him, but he refused to listen to me, " Rune sadly sighed. " Then, Ebony and I had raided their lair and fought them. I was being cornered by those goons, until she was being attacked by a Crocodile Faunus into her demise. Fu helplessly watched her in facing death. I was able to break free, but I couldn't save her. I was very furious to see my brother letting my beloved one die in the hands of thieves. "

" Uncle Rune, I'm sorry for your loss..."

" Ebony Wolfsbane, " he silently wept and carefully rubbed his eyes. " That lovely wolf Faunus lady was everything to me. She's a tough, kind, and cheerful woman who had cared more to me than my own brother. She could have been my wife as she was supposed to be a mother. She's supposed to be living with us..."

" I'm sorry, Uncle Rune, " Ella gently patted her family's friend, comforting him. " My sincerest condolences to her. "

" Thank you, Ella. " Rune spoke and tried to pacify himself " I know for sure, Ebony and I will be reunited when that time comes. "

" What are you talking about Uncle Rune? You're not gonna die, aren't you? "

" Ella, I'm not even certain if I will live that long, but I still mourn for her in years and manage to cope up and fight hard. The one of the missions that I have greatly accomplished is watching over and visiting you and your father for almost twenty-one years which I promised your mother to take the initiative and fulfill it. I'm glad that I have treated you like my own daughter and befriended your father which he considered me as his real brother. Thank you for such experience. This mission has gained me a second family to cherish. "

" Uncle Rune, I don't want to talk anything about her! " Ella retorted when her family friend gently rubbed her back to calm her down. " I said..."

" I'm sorry if I opened up her again to you. I know you have still ill-feelings for her, " he said. " Carol left you for your own safety while Fu left me for his own personal gain and power. Sometimes, you have to understand the person's true intentions. "

The young Kree-hybrid woman remained silent when Rune instantly hugged her. Ella never realized that her older friend was fleeting so soon as he sincerely spoke of his gratitude towards her and her father.

(Three Days Later)

The clashing and booming sounds from the outside had made Ella instantly awakened in the early morning of her birthday. The young Kree-hybrid got out of bed and went to the mirror, looking at her reflection and combing her dishelved hair. Then, she immediately took her sniper rifle for her defense if anyone would dare to her attack her. Remaining vigilant and focused, she moved her head to and fro, checked every corner of the house, and searched for her father and friend's whereabouts. There was no presence of them within the house.

" They could have been fighting with those blue demons and the lizards. I'd better find them, " she thought and left the house.

Ella spent running and searching for Tim and Rune where she had headed herself to the forest. The mature trees of Weeping Bottlebrush had greeted her when the cold winter winds had guided her into the direction. Ella stopped running when she saw the discarded bodies of mixed race people. Some of them were slaves and some fighters from the Rebel Forces. From a distance she eyed at the blue skinned man talking to his fellow Kree and some lizards and immediately hid in the bushes, waiting for them to leave the forest.

While time was running, she smelled a foul odor beside her and covered her mouth. The flies went swarming and hovering around her. Ella slowly turned around when she saw some two deceased men beside her as she recognized them. Their blood had spilled on the ground when she widened and watered her eyes. The young Kree-hybrid was trembling and weeping to see her father and family friend lying on the ground. She instantly hugged them in her arms and loudly wailed. At her special day, it turned out to be a day of mourning instead of celebrating when death and sadness had visited her.

(Thirty years later: A-List's invisible lair, Outback area, Queensland)

" I'm sorry for what happened to you, Ella, " Shega calmly spoke after she listened to the middle-aged woman's story and sat down on her bed within the containment cell. " I didn't know how hard you have been through. "

" It has happened, Shega. It's not your fault, " the Kree-hybrid calmly spoke. " It was the most horrible birthday that I have experienced and witnessed. That's the reason why I never wanted to celebrate it. My late husband and children asked me the reason behind it. Then, I explained my story that I have lost the most important gentlemen in my life. "

" It is really depressing how you have endured it, " the female genie replied and leaned her back at the wall. " I'm glad you have found your mother and brother. "

" Right-O, it was a rocky beginning when I met them in France. "

Just behind the containment cell, an invisible man was watching and listening at the two women. Rune felt sorry for the Eumeralla when he began to remember those events she had mentioned, however he became baffled and tried to be a difficult entity under A-List's influence, however his real memories slowly occured within him.

" Why I do feel sorry for her? I don't understand, " he anxiously thought. " Those people she mentioned, they sounded familiar. What's going on with me? Is the past attempting to reveal who I really was?! There's something wrong with me! I really need to find out who I was! I just need to know the truth! "
