*flashback to 2 years ago*

"Lucy can I come outside with you today?" asks my little sister Shannon.

"Sure" I answer "but why?". She never wants come out with me because I'm apparently boring.

"Mom and dad are fighting again" she says, a frowning forming on her face.

"Not again". It's the eigth time this week that my parents have been fighting. At first it was over little things, like my dad leaving his socks on the couch, but then it started to escalate. Now even just the sight of each other is enough to set off a screaming match. They have never fought so much before.

"Okay, but we have to leave quickly if you want to get to the ice cream truck" I say smiling.

She runs out of my room with a smile on her face.

Now I'm left to my thoughts and I think back to what I saw a few days ago.

*flashback from two days ago *
"Henry please we have to stop" my mom says almost in tears. "It's  just not right".

"Don't you think I know that?". The anger in his voice is frightening. "But we can't stop now because if we do then they'll come for us instead". His voice gets quieter with each word spoken. The anguish is clear in his face. "It was suppose to help them" . I don't think I'll ever be able to forget the look on his face as he says this.

I close the kitchen door and creep back into my room.
*end of flash back from two days ago*.

I'm starting to get scared now. My parents never fight this much. I just wish they would tell me what's going on.

*end of flashback*
