Weeks had passed since I had been taken back into containment, I hated every second of it but every time I tried to get free David would always remind me of how much danger Liam was in. A round of electricity running through my body caused me to jolt awake in agony, tensing my body I tried to block it out but I was stuck in the same stupid liquid that had prevented me from using my abilities before. When the jolting pain stopped I relaxed myself into a tight ball, looking around the room I noticed David had finally come to see me for himself now that I was perfectly defenceless.

"Good morning MewLing, I do hope you slept well, Liam has been wondering how you were doing, you are his soul partner after all and keeping you both separated as well as in pain is rather amusing but it is also very damaging to such a powerful pokemon, now, my men are going to bring him in shortly, behave and I might just let you both see each other more often," David stated his voice calm and oddly cheerful, with a shudder I watched as the large metal doors of my holding room opened to reveal a rather beaten up looking Liam. Seeing his condition had my blood boiling but the moment I threatened to break free a gun was aimed directly for Liam, mentally cursing myself I sat floating in that chamber doing everything in my power to stay calm for Liam's sake.

"Good girl, you don't want Liam to get hurt now do you? Now, I'm going to let you out but if you try anything funny little Liam won't be around to see his future," David warned his voice turning cold and dark, when the liquid drained from the chamber I stepped out into the cold air glaring at the man who held me captive at the expense of his own relative.

"Good, now, you remember the battle grounds, we are heading there where you are going to reclaim your title and make me a very popular and rich man, fail to do so and it's Liam's life on the line," David explained before turning and dragging Liam behind him, reluctantly I follow making sure to keep the young boy in my line of sight at all time. When it came to entering an armoured vehicle I hesitated but complied, there would be plenty of bloodshed but only one person truly mattered so I would do what it took to keep him safe.

**Time Skip**

The sound of doors opening caused me to stir from my restless state of slumber, the entire trip from what I could gather had taken roughly two hours and I had been exhausted. Shielding my eyes against the blinding light I stood and left the vehicle my tail twitching irritably as we went through a series of elevators, looking around I began to notice we weren't in the usual underground area like last time but instead we were at the top of a rather secure sky scraper. Swallowing my fears I began to follow David as he half shoved half dragged Liam beside him, with a defeated huff I refused to stand as tall and proud as I once did. A sharp zapping caught my attention making me snarl angrily, turning my head I already knew what was wanted of me and so despite my wishes to get away I walked into the heavily enforced arena hoping my opponent wouldn't suffer like the others before it. Looking back towards Liam I noticed only fear in his eyes, when his gaze met mine I felt guilt flood my veins like venom.

"Don't hurt them," I heard him cry out through the mind link, wincing slightly I turned away as a Lycanroc entered the arena. A sharp flash of pain told me they were injecting the R Gas into my systems just like before, clenching my fists I felt my blood begin to burn and my mind to race. Shaking my head I tried to stay in control as the R Gas began to take effect, with an angry snarl the Lycanroc lunged snapping its teeth aimlessly. Out of shock I turned and slammed the infuriated canine into the edge of the arena, taking a step back I continued trying to fight my own mind while also keeping the Lycanroc at bay. A sudden ripple of agony spreading through my chest caught my attention, turning my head I noticed Liam was struggling against David's grasp and I felt myself begin to panic. With a final glance towards David and Liam I threw the Lycanroc to the side with what little power I had and thankfully knocked it out, turning my head I noticed much to my horror David was now hitting him. Smashing out of the arena I attempted to help him but a sharp round of electricity coursing through my body had me falling down on my knees trying to block it out, the onlooking people and their pokemon were quick to back off knowing nothing good was to come of this scenario. As much as I tried to fight it I felt the R Gas taking over as my blood began to boil, much to my own surprise I sent out a large shockwave of power causing everything to be thrown backwards. When I lifted my head I noticed David smashing one of the windows and before I could even think I watched as Liam was thrown through it and began plummeting towards the ground, bunching my muscles I shot forwards diving towards Liam before holding my hand out in an attempt to grasp a hold of him with my abilities. The fear in his eyes burned my skin and just when I felt like he was in reach a painful jolt of electricity was sent through my body causing me to tense and my limbs to jerk awkwardly, locking eyes with Liam I felt my heart sink as with a sickening crunch he collided with the hard earth below us. Letting out a pained cry I felt like my heart had been ripped from my very chest as my body slowed my descent enough to not kill me as I too collided with the ground, laying there I felt numb aside from the torn feeling that hung around as if a dagger had cut my flesh with an acid blade. The sound of many things going on around me felt so distant as I stared at the lifeless body of Liam, when strangers in even stranger colours began to take him away I lifted my hand wanting him to return to me but they simply cast me a glance before he vanished into the vehicle and I was left shattered and alone. A new presence nearby told me someone I knew was looking on at what a mess this had become, despite the worried voices and the many questions thrown my way I simply closed my eyes begging for the eternal sleep of death.
