Chapter 5

Acacia's POV:

We rushed home as soon as we got the text from Acacia. I wasn't really sure as to what to think. When you get a text saying that something bad happened and it's from your best friend then you really begin to worry. I knew we shouldn't have left her home alone.

"Guys, we need to hurry." We ran through the rain since getting a cab would take too long. The one thing I knew is that we were all drunk in some way.

I had managed to stay mostly sober, so I was the only one that was even thinking slightly straight. My feet hit the slippery, wet pavement. I had started running so fast that the world was just simply a blur of light and color behind me. My hair flew behind me. It wasn't until I had reached the apartment that I realized I left my friends behind. It was fine anyway. It was my apartment after all.

I ran upstairs in a flash. I quickly tried finding my house key but then realized I had left without it. I began to bang on the door, yelling Jenn's name in fear of what might've happened. It wasn't until I heard a calm voice behind me that I had finally settled down to assess the situation.

"Wow, you got here quick."

Irritation flowed through my veins. I turned around to see Jenn leaning against the wall, ever so casually.

"What are you doing out here? What happened?" I tried asking this with as much worry as I could force into my voice but I was starting to get really irritated.

"Oh um that? Well, um..." She trailed off and rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly. I furrowed my brow.

"Why did you lie just to get me here?! What was the point if that?" Did she want attention or something? I wasn't sure. That's when she said the one thing I never saw coming.

"I found Will."

I looked at her with surprise. Was she serious? Her of all people was just going to blurt that out? Really?

"You've got to be kidding me." I muttered, she heard me and looked at me with a bit of something somewhere between hurt and a full on smirk.

"I'm not kidding you. Why would I?" Her smirk disappeared. I felt sorta bad. It was then that our friends decided to show up.

"Great." Jenn and I both muttered but she rolled her eyes when she said it.

"Look, can we just say this was my revenge for leaving without me and then making me worried sick. For all I knew, you could've been dead!" Jen look tired, exasperated almost.

"Fine. By the way, tomorrow I will be leaving for a trip back home to see my family. Are you okay with running things by yourself?"

"God. You make it sound like I'm twelve. I'll be fine." I could see the sheer irritation on her face.

"Okay. Good. Now that I know you're at least somewhat capable of taking care of-"

"Shut up." We both ended up laughing. It was then that I remembered our drunk friends standing there watching.

"You guys might wanna take a cab home." Jen said, trying to avoid laughing. I had to admit, the sight of our friends about to collapse on the floor was hilarious.

"Why c-can't we j-justtt stay here?" One of them questioned, stuttering a little, which I found weird.

"Because one of you might puke on the floor in which I'd have to throw you 7 stories out of my apartment and on to the streets of New York." I smiled at Jenn's reply, it wasn't exactly what I expected out of her mouth, even if it was nearly 4 am.

"Fine. We'll go home."

"Good."

Sorry for the short update after 3 months, I just wanted to give you guys something.

In my opinion, this is some of the worst writing that I've ever produced. Sorry :(
