Zayn walked back in his house after dropping Gigi at her house. He knew it was his 17th birthday but he wasn't going to throw a party or whatsoever as He was going to shift in his wolf form for the first time tonight. He was really excited about it.

"Mom , I'm home ." Zayn shouted in a sing-song voice.

"In the kitchen ! " Trisha's voice was heard .

Zayn walked in the kitchen where Trisha was cooking the dinner.

"How was your day, Zaynie ? " Trisha kissed Zayn's cheek as he hugged her from behind looking over her shoulder what she was cooking.

"It was good . Mmmm....the Kheer smells amazing. " He said moving back and sitting on the kitchen counter .

"Thanks sunshine. I'm also making your favourite chicken Biryani . But now tell me Did you found your Mate ?" Trisha asked looking at Zayn .

Zayn stiffened for a moment before gaining his composer back and lied easily ,"No."

"Oh..." Trisha turned back to stir the Kheer before continuing ," but that's fine . Maybe he or she doesn't study in your school or lives nearby."

"She mom she . And I love Gigi . "Zayn grumbles in a annoyed voice.

Trisha sighs knowing her son . "How can you be so sure your mate is a she? The Moon goddess had decided to make mates because of some reason. A mate is literally half part of your soul. You love your mate from the moment He/she is born because mates are meant to be. Mates have one soul sharing two bodies and a half soul is always restless." Trisha tried in a soft voice to insert some Sense in Zayn . (A/N : But we all know Zayn is too stubborn 😡)

"But moooom I'm not into boys . I'm not gay . And if my mate will be Gay I'll. ....I'll reject him " . Zayn quoted Gay with his hands .

Trisha's neck snapped so fast in Zayn's direction that he was almost waorried that Trisha might have hurt herself. Trisha dropped her work and walked towards Zayn looking in his eyes. She had anger and disappointment clear in her eyes.

"You . You will never do such thing. I never taught you this . How can you be so heartless ? Your mate will have to suffer a lot due to your rejection . And living with a half soul isn't pleasant. I - " Tisha's lecture was interrupted by Yaser 's voice.

"What's going on here ?" His voice was stern a perfect Alpha voice.

Zayn looked at Yaser then at trisha. Trisha looked at Yaser then at Zayn and then Again at Yaser before answering," Zayn didn't found his his Mate . I'm just worried his shifting would be more painful. "

Yaser nodded his head before saying ," Yeah , mates usually are able to calm each others wolf easily. "He looked at Zayn ," Do you want us to be there when you shift ? "

"No Dad. I'll be fine ."

Trisha was busy in searching something through the refrigerator when Yaser tried to sneak some Kheer through a spoon he gestured Zayn to stay quiet. But as soon as the Yaser dipped the spoon in the Boiling milk Trisha said ," leave it now. You can taste it once its ready. I still haven't added dry fruits in it and rice aren't totally cooked. "

"No ....no I was just checking if it is boiling properly , love ."

"Really ?"

And then Zayn walked out of the kitchen chuckling to himself.

The family enjoyed the dinner Yaser talking about Pack to keep Zayn updated.

"I'll just out for a walk. "With that Zayn started walking out of the house. He had started feeling little pain in his spinal cord already . He didn't wanted to shift in front of his parents or anyone.

He was slowly walking when it happened. He felt the sharp pain in his spinal cord making him fall down and then all his bones started breaking and readjusting. His muscles stretching and Black hair started growing on his skin.

His whole mind was blank as he could just feel pain . Unbearable pain. He shut his close as tears fell down. He Just wanted this to be over soon .

It did after a few minutes and he opened his eyes slowly . Everything was different more clearer. He tried to touch his face but instead of hand he had paws and then he saw he stood up. It felt weird to stand on four legs.

"Hi there !"

Zayn looked around for the source of voice.

"Stop looking around idiot I'm your wolf ."

And then he understood.

"Yeah . Hi " Zayn said he still could fel the pain.

"Let's go to the nearby river. You can know how we look ." They ran towards the river but then a wave of wind brought Harry's scent to them .

And before Zayn could do anything His wolf took the control and ran in direction from where the scent was coming.

Harry was startled when he saw a black wolf running towards him . But he calmed when the smell of mint and fresh roses hit him. He knew it was a warewolf as werewolves are bigger than normal wolf. He just stood there until the wolf reached him.

The wolf bowed his head . Asking harry to touch him which he slowly did. Harry again felt those sparks and the wolf purred in delight.

Harry withdrew his hands after a moment not knowing why Zayn would come to him.

"Don't ". the wolf said through mindlink.

"Zayn why ..."

"I'm not Zayn . I'm his wolf . " with that the black wolf sat down and looked up at Harry with most innocent look . Harry got the message and sat beside him running his hand through his fur.

Slowly the wolf almost layed in Hary's lap . When Harry asked ,

" What is your name ? "

"Zayn hasn't named me yet. Will you do it for me ?"

"Me ?" Harry was shocked.

"Yeah. You are our mate Afterall. "

Harry thought for a moment before saying,

"Rodger "

Rodger just purred in joy and closed his eyes.

"No. No you are not sleeping on me. I won't be able to carry you home. "Harry protested.

"Then let's go home ." Rodger stood up  shaking the dust from his fur.
