I - Betrayed
Me: Percccy!
Percy: What?
Me: Can you do the disclaimer thingy?
Percy: No! You do it!
Me: *sigh* Fine! I do not own Percy Jackson or Heroes of Olympus. Uncle Rick does. Peace!
Percy: You say peace when you're about to put me through Hell? AGAIN?!?
Me: Ignore him, now onto the story!
~Percy~
Shouting, arguing. That's what I remember. I was fighting with Annabeth for some reason. Maybe because she stole riptide from me, I don't know. But what happened next still shocks me.
I went to the Athena cabin. I'm going to propose to Annabeth. I asked Hephaestus to make me a ring for Annabeth, it had a thin band inlaid with mini diamonds and the main diamond was sea green in colour. Inside the diamond, there was writing so small that you'd need a microscope to see it. It says "seaweed brain's wise girl". I'm really nervous, we fell into Tartarus together, we've known each other since we were twelve, she spent eight months of her life looking for me and we survived two wars together. I think that we deserve a happy ending, or at least a break for our wedding.
I walk until I reach the cabin door. I raise my hand hesitantly, would Annabeth be ready for this kind of change? Then I knock. I hear footsteps come to the door and as it opens I'm met with a pair of stormy grey eyes filled with annoyance. Annabeth looks up at me with disgust and, lust?
"What do you want Perseus?"
I'm taken back, did she just call me Perseus?
"Annabeth, what's wrong?"
"You know what's wrong, you stole my dagger!"
And from there our fight just escalated. We kept arguing, then she accused me of stealing more stuff and we started shouting so loudly that campers actually started crowding around us.
~Annabeth~
It was a typical day at camp until people started crowding around my cabin. I tried to see what was going on, but almost every camper was there. I tap the shoulder of a camper in front of me. He was tall and well built but the weird thing was that he looked at me with confusion.
"Annabeth? How are you over here?"
"What do you mean? I just got here."
The camper looks confused. He just shook his head and pointed at my cabin. I was getting tired of this.
"OUT OF MY WAY CAMPERS!!"
Everyone gasped when they saw me. They started looking back and forth between me and my cabin and whispering to each other. What in Hades is going on? As campers saw me, they moved to the side and created a path from me to my cabin. I start walking to my cabin but people looked really confused. Then I hear someone shout
"IF YOU EVEN LOVE ME, JUST KISS ME PERCY"
My heart stopped.
No, he wouldn't. His flaw is loyalty, he wouldn't kiss another girl.
I ran to the front and saw Percy in a passionate kiss with a girl that had blond hair and grey eyes. As she kissed him, her eyes locked onto me and glittered with triumph.
~Percy~
I'm kissing Annabeth, so why does it feel so wrong? I pull away and look her in the eyes. She's smiling with triumph. Wait, what?
"P-Percy?"
I hear a girl's voice behind me, it sounds so familiar. I turn around and see,
"Annabeth! But then, who's this?"
I look at the girl behind me. As I turn around, I see that the girl's eyes have changed into a startling emerald green and her hair has gone from blonde curls to long red hair. She looks like she could be Rachel's sister but with straight hair. She smiles at me and then curtseys. With a voice like silk, she says,
"Lily Lunar, daughter of Aphrodite."
I walk up to her and rest my hand on her cheek.
Then I slap her.
Hard.
~Annabeth~
I'm going to kill that b****. But then I see Percy rest his hand on her cheek. Tears stinging my eyes, I run past them into my cabin and start packing. I pack spare clothes, toiletries, Daedalus' Laptop, the bone sword and celestial bronze knife I was given, my Yankees cap and lastly, I take off my camp necklace and rip the coral ring off the cord. I throw it down on my bed, I won't be needing it anymore. I zip up my backpack and straighten up. I'm not staying here for one more minute.
"Annabeth?"
I turn around and see Malcolm. He looks shocked.
"What are you doing?"
I glare at him.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm leaving. And you're now senior councillor, so don't argue with me."
He sighs and I turn around.
"Annabeth," his voice was small. "Please don't leave."
I look at him. Instead anger or hurt, his eyes glistened with sadness.
"I have to Malcolm. Tell our siblings that I love them."
I turn around and jump out the window. And then I run. I run towards the camp border, I'm not coming back here. I run until Thalia's pine tree is in my sight. I slowly walk up the hill to her tree. Standing on the crest of the hill, I look back at camp, relishing in it's beauty. I look down at the tree and see one of my siblings, immersed in a book.
"Hey Samantha."
Her blue/green/grey eyes look up from her book and meet my stormy grey eyes. Surprise is written all over her face.
"Annabeth? What are you doing here? And why have you got a bag full of your stuff?"
I sigh. She's 13, but like all Athena kids, she smart and observant. I kneel down next to her and without a word, I give her a hug. Her body tenses up with surprise, but then she relaxes and returns the hug. I let go and she studies my face. Gods, she reminds me of me when I was younger, just with brown hair.
"Annabeth, where are you going?"
"I'm leaving camp. For good."
Samantha's only been at camp for a couple of months, but I've already connected with her. Her grandfather is Poseidon, maybe that's why, because she was just like Percy and myself in some ways. If Percy and I had a daughter, I recon that our daughter would be exactly like Samantha.
(A/N I actually saw a headcanon where Percy and Annabeth had a daughter and her name was Samantha, no joke!)
"You didn't answer my question. Where are you going Annabeth?"
"*sigh* I'm going to my father's place in San Francisco. But Samantha, please don't tell anyone where I am."
"I swear on the river Styx that I will not tell anyone where you are going without your consent, I'll just say that I was reading and didn't see anything."
We both start laughing because that is exactly something that both of us would be doing. I stand up and Samantha stands up with me. She hugs me this time, and I don't hesitate to return that hug. I look into her eyes and see that she's heartbroken.
"Promise that you'll IM me as soon as you can."
I think about it. Then an idea clicks into my mind. I pray to my mother.
Mother, please allow me to keep in contact with my siblings.
An image of a woman with honey blonde hair and grey eyes just like mine comes into my mind. She looks solemn.
Is this what you want Annabeth? This will have to be your last request from me. The other gods and demigods will question me if I help you later.
Yes mother, this is the only thing I desire.
She smiles sadly.
Then this is your wish. I am proud of you Annabeth, you have accomplished so much and I am extremely proud of you for that.
The image dissolves from my mind and I open my eyes. I see Samantha staring at me.
"Well?" She asks "you gonna IM me or what?"
I smile.
"Even better, mum's granted me one last wish. To stay in contact with my siblings, so if you ever need me, just think about me and I'll answer."
Her face lights up with delight. Then she looks over my shoulder and her face melts from delight to worry.
"Run Annabeth! I'll keep them away."
I don't look behind me. I just run. When I'm down the hill I look back and see that Samantha is once again engrossed in her book, or at least pretending to be. I run and hide behind a tree so that I can still see the crest. Minutes later, I see a girl walking up to Samantha. It's the Aphrodite girl that Percy kissed. My blood starts boiling, I want to go back up there and give her a piece of my mind. Then I hear Samantha's voice in my head.
I know that you're watching me. Mum must have already given you the gift but you have to stay out of sight. I'll deal with her.
I calm down and look back at the scene in front of me. Samantha's just tilted her head up. The Aphrodite girl is screaming at her now but Samantha stands up, defiant. She starts fighting back until both of them lose their patience. The other girl goes to slap Samantha but a third shadow stops her.
Annabeth,
Samantha talks to me mentally.
You need to go now, this third person is, uh, Percy.
Ok. Goodbye Samantha.
Then I turn and run. And this time I run and don't look back.
Hi! Thanks for checking out my new book! I'm really sorry that this chapter is bad, but I'm hoping that it will get better as it progresses. And I would like to mention, Lily Lunar was inspired by someone who I started following when I first started writing this. _Lily_Luna_ this character was inspired by you, sorry if you're unhappy about that.
Samantha
