Part title

It had been a very eventful morning for the young princess, Alivia. Her baby sister, who had just turned one yesterday, was coronated that afternoon. The young brunette looked around at the citizens, peasants as her grandmother, Duchess Marie, would call them, that seemed to just contently dance around with no cares in the world. The ballroom was lit with the grand sparkling chandelier up ahead with a few candles scattered around to just further set the mood of the evening. Her mother and father had gone back to their room but insisted that the party continue happily without them as they originally intended. They seemed more quiet and tired ever since her sister, Violet, had been born. Alivia couldn't help but wonder if she was that much of a handful as a child. "Gosh I hope not," she muttered to herself at the thought. "What was that your excellency?" Alivia slightly jumped as she turned to face her knight, Felicity. In all honesty, Alivia had slightly forgotten she was there, not that she normally just overlooked staff, that couldn't be further from the truth. Alivia adored the staff of the castle. They were always so generous and very eager to please and she admired their camaraderie and utter devotion to the royal family and the kingdom. Alivia couldn't help but admire their passion and desire to help. Alivia gave a soft small smile and shook her head to Felicity and her question "oh nothing just... thinking out loud as one does from time to time." Alivia took a deep breath and let out a soft sigh "it seems all too surreal to be sharing the regal spotlight," she explained softly as she stared out at her lower classed peers. "Is that a bad thing ma'am? I mean, aren't you happy to have a sister?" Felicity asked in slight curiosity. It would be quite strange to know that Alivia wasn't happy. While growing up, all Felicity heard from Alivia was 'I know I have you, but you're only here when your daddy is here. I hope someday I'm gifted with a sister, and I hope she is just like you!' Alivia and Felicity had been best friends since birth. Felicity lived in the castle with her father, the king's right hand knight. Felicity seemed to fall right in line behind her fathers footsteps as she took it upon herself to be the first female knight to ever be appointed directly to a person of such high status such as Alivia herself. Alivia drew in a soft gasp, almost as if she was offended by the question, though she was far from it. Alivia felt her cheeks grow red in embarrassment as she frantically waved her hands back and forth and she quickly shook her head "no! Of course not! I adore Violet, I just mean it's going to be strange having the attention drawn to the baby of the family." She had a panicked look before shaking her head once more "not that I want all the attention, I'm not that greedy! It's just... I-" Felicity placed her hand on the future queen's shoulder and gave a soft, reassuring squeeze to it. "Deep breaths Liv." Felicity said in a soft and slightly cooing tone. Alivia gave a grateful smile and nodded before taking a soft breath in through her nose and gently out her mouth. "I don't crave the attention... it's just going to be weird to not be in the spotlight and under everyone's hard criticism. It's..." she struggled for a moment to find the word she wanted before finally settling on,"it's Relieving to say the least." She said and turned back towards the crowd, regaining her high and mighty stance as she did, her hands folded over themselves and her fingers laced together on top of each other over her purple laced gown. Her gown wasn't to extravagant today, it was cut just above her ankles, she was afraid she would accidentally slip over the gorgeous silk design and ruin all the hard work her tailor did and she would hate for that to happen. Her top had off the shoulder cream colored pieces of tool like fabric that attached to the top of a white corset. The corset hugged her waist beautifully ,it wasn't as straining as her mother seemed to let on. Under the corset came out a lavender colored, silk like fabric that flowed all the way down to her ankles, the only reason it stopped there was due to the light purple heels that her feet fit snuggly into. The dress also had a slit from the midst of her thigh to the bottom of the dress, giving her better moving and her body a bit of leverage and collage against the usually heated dresses she mostly wore. The entirety of the outfit was an eye-catching, clever play on the color of Violet's name. As Alivia watched her knight begin to speak once more she held her hand up stopping Felicity and making a curious confused look pop up in her swamp green eyes. "Forget the spotlight." Alivia said with a smile pressed to her lips as she then moved her hand down and gestured towards Felicity's hand, slightly beckoning her foreword before speaking once more "Dance with me Lic?" Alivia stepped out, she slightly admired how Felicity's bright red, ginger locks seem to pop even more against her black, slightly plain and baggy, evening dress. Felicity was taken back a-bit as she harshly gulped as Alivia's eyes racked over her. The way Alivia looked at her felt like she was being judged harshly, like she was in a Mrs.Universe beauty pageant, but Felicity knew better. Felicity felt a soft blush erupt over her pale, freckled cheeks at how Alivia's eyes trailed her. She found it hard to speak, the flustered feeling preventing her from speaking properly, it took a few moments of just blinking at the young royal before shaking her head softly. "My liege! Don't you think that would be a bit inappropriate?" She said in a tone that anyone could tell was just to his her nervousness. "How so?" Alivia asked, she knew what Felicity ment and sure she could get in trouble if anyone here really cared about telling in them but... who cares right? Getting caught was like half the fun. "Well what if you're grandmother find out that- that you're dancing with..." she paused before leaning closer, almost as if the words were a crime. "Another girl?" Alivia bursted out laughing at how much it troubled Felicity to push those simple words out. Alivia just shook her head and took Felicity's hand, entangling her fingers with the small hand in hers. She placed her hand on Felicity's waist, which only left Felicity to place her hand on Alivias shoulder. They were standing a good two feet away from each other, this made Alivia frown and tighten her grip on Felicity's waist and yanked her foreword. Felicity's heel made a loud clomp sound when she was yanked, she was still getting used to the feeling out having unstable height as opposed to her usual knight boots. Felicity looked up at the girl, even with the heel she was shorter than the princess.
