Q: Snippet Saturday!

A: Okay so I wanted to mix it up a bit, so have this excerpt from a short story I'm writing!

They called him the silent runner, not because of the way he would always come back, or how he would skitter down the dimly lit sidewalk unnoticed, or the way it was said his voice could be heard even on the quietest of nights. Perhaps it was not even because of the textbook definition of his name, either. Whatever it had meant, it was quite the nickname, Lorraine had always thought, but never dared to say out loud; just continuing to shake her head and walk down the path that she had come. It was a ridiculous name. 

Q: How do you find your character's names?

A: I draw them/ find a face claim first, and then I literally look at them and say "you look like a _____". I'm not completely winging it, I have a list in my notes app of names that I want to use for future OC's, but this method is how I've named probably 75% of my characters. Not the best method, I know, but sometimes a character just looks like a certain name, you feel me?
