This will mostly be about the LP, but I'll do some UP facts too

- Michigan's full human name is Lansing D. Huron. He doesn't think Lansing is a proper first name, however, so he always introduces himself as Lance.

- He is fluent is English, French, and German. He knows a lot of Arabic as well, and can still manage some Polish and Italian, though he's really rusty.

- His closest state/province relatives are Wisconsin, Illinois, and Quebec.

- The first war he was involved in was the French and Indian War. He fought with the French and lost. Next thing he knew, he was was a British territory and had to learn English.

- He didn't realize he was part of a new country called the United States until 1804.

- He was captured from Fort Detroit in the War of 1812 and held in present day Ontario. Ontario (the person) didn't like Michigan at first, but in the end decided he would take Michigan under his wing and teach him how to speak English so he wouldn't turn out like Quebec.

- Michigan decided not to tell Ontario that he was already fluent in English because he thought Ontario's teaching method would entertaining.

- One day, Michigan found out Ohio was trying to claim a piece of land called the Toledo strip. When he went down to control her, she shoved him in the Toledo River. He left, and came back the next day with a shot gun. He shot her in the shoulder. Both states then got their militias and staked out the river. That was how the Toledo War began.

- Because Ohio was trying to become a state, Congress gave Ohio that land. To try and appease Michigan, they took land from Wisconsin territory and made it Michigan territory.

- This did not appease Michigan.

- Michigan never forgave Ohio for shoving him in the river.

- Ohio never forgave Michigan for shooting her.

- The last war Michigan fought in himself was the Civil War. At the time, most of his citizens were very religious and thought slavery was a scourge on humanity.

- Wisconsin once told Michigan she had once  seen a little boy that representing the Upper Peninsula on the land mass when she owned it. Michigan didn't really want to go all the way around Lake Michigan and up through Wisconsin to see this boy. He came up with the idea to build a bridge.

- Ontario said Michigan couldn't build a suspension bridge that long.

- So Michigan built the bridge.

- Michigan loves bridges. All types of bridges. They're his aesthetic.

- Michigan is known to have severe mood swings. Usually only the UP and Ontario are willing to put up with it, which leave Michigan rather isolated from the group.

- Michigan has had a crush on both Iowa and Indiana in the past (not at the same time). He got over it because Illinois and Ontario talked him out of it.

- Michigan used to look like a mix of APH Germany and France. Pale skin, pale blue eyes, and wavy blonde hair (kept at a length between France and Germany's). His appearance had changed a lot since then.

- His first appearance change happened when his eyes changed from blue to a bright green. This happened when a lot of southern and Eastern Europeans began immigrating to Michigan.

- His second appearance change happened after the Civil War. Many African Americans migrated out of the south and to Michigan for work in the factories. He also received a lot of Arabic immigrants as well; Dearborn, a city within MetroDetroit, has the highest concentration of Arabic people outside the Middle East itself. Both of these led to his complexion darkening and his hair curling. He didn't mind, however; he likes representing a diverse population.

- Michigan is decent at hockey, baseball, and basketball. He sucks at football. But he tries.

- During the Michigan vs Michigan State game, he always cheers for Michigan ONLY BECAUSE UofM was the first university in his state. When the two colleges aren't versing each other, he supports both.

- Early in their friendship Ontario kept messing with Michigan about how the one lake that didn't touch his state was named Ontario. So Michigan renamed Lake of the Stinking Water, the only Great Lake that didn't border Ontario, Lake Michigan.

- UP's full human name is Marquette Superior. He just goes by Mark.

- All the states call him Yooper despite the fact that he insists on being called Superior, his "state name"

- Mark is convinced his older brother won't let him become a state because Lance will lose tourism and a lot of natural, untouched land. In reality, Lance just doesn't believe Mark would be able to support himself financially.

- Despite his full name, Mark is more closely related to Finland than France.

- Mark is fluent in English, Finnish, and Swedish. He knows quiet a bit of Norwegian, and dabbles in French.

- He's reason everyone thinks Michigan is full of a bunch of fake Canadians.
