AMERICA

Honestly if America stood in the same room as Lance he probably wouldn't realize he's a state. His appearance has changed so much, when Alfred thinks Michigan, he still thinks of the blonde kid who spoke French and liked to going hunting. Lance doesn't hold it against Alfred, he understands that he's got bigger things to worry about than remembering what Michigan looks like.

CANADA

Lance saw Canada once. And he actively avoids him now. Not out of malice; Lance thinks Matthew's a very good person... but when Canada saw him, he wouldn't stop staring at Lance, like he was some sort of ghost from his past.

ILLINOIS

Of all the Midwestern states, Michigan feels the most comfortable around Illinois. She's almost like a older sister, and he feels he can tell her anything.

INDIANA

Lance got a bit of a crush on Lafayette during the 1950s. Ontario and Illinois warned him that it wouldn't be a good idea to feel that way, but Lance told Indiana how he felt. He was rejected rather harshly, but over time Indiana realized he was wrong to be so angry at Lance for something so stupid.

IOWA
Michigan had a bit of a crush on Iowa as well, though earlier, in the 1800s. Iowa... well, let's just say despite Lance's efforts to woe her, she remained blissful unaware of everything.

MINNESOTA

Michigan actually likes Minnesota. They get along well when Michigan's in the mood to speak and they've never really had a huge issue with one another.

OHIO

... Basically France and England, accept there is no underlying feelings for one another. They both want the US to downgrade to 49 states, very, very badly.

ONTARIO

The other Midwestern states find it very strange that Michigan is so close with a Canadian province, but the two are really inseparable... really, their economies are interwoven and trade is essential between the two. The only issue they've really had issues with (despite the recent blow up) is about building bridges. They're constantly bickering about it; Ontario thinks it's a waste of money to build another bridge instead of just keeping up the four they already have, but Michigan insists bridges are beautiful. That is literally his only argument, but he hasn't budged in decades.

QUEBEC

It's weird. Quebec and Michigan try to hate each other, or at least feel bitter disdain for each other (Michigan wants to hate Quebec because Ontario hates Quebec) (Quebec wants to hate Michigan because Quebec hates Ontario), but on the rare occasions they are in the room, they always find themselves standing next to one another. It's an awkward relationship but it's not necessarily negative or positive.

UPPER PENINSULA

Despite what you might think, the two peninsulas get along pleasantly. They feel like the are two completely different places, being Lance has far more people and more cities, while Mark is mostly just trees and wilderness, but they admire the variety. Lance cares a lot about Mark's well being, despite the Yooper jokes.

WISCONSIN

The relationship used to be fairly pleasant until recently, when Wisconsin brought up that Lake Michigan's name should be changed to Lake Wisconsin because Wisconsin has more shoreline. That, and Lance found out that Wisconsin was claiming her state looked more like a mitten than Michigan did. He's not speaking to her rn.
