In 1835, there was a dispute between the state of ❌hi❌, and the U.S. territ❌ry ❌f Michigan. B❌th parties wanted a strip ❌f land called the T❌led❌ Strip. C❌ngress gave the land t❌ ❌hi❌. Michigan was pretty salty.

We've hated each ❌ther ever since.

With the T❌led❌ War, th❌ugh ❌nly ❌ne person was injured, still fairly fresh in the states' mind, their tw❌ biggest c❌lleges, played a football game against each ❌ther in 1897. We've been meeting regularly since 1918.
