So, the US lost on the PK shoot out to Sweden :(

It was a sehr intense game. It was scoreless at the half, and then Sweden scored first. Alex Morgan came back with a goal at I believe the 78th minute? It was tied 1-1 at the end of the game so they had to play two more 15 minute halves.

In the second extra half, Carli Lloyd scored, but then her goal didn't count. Sweden came back and scored, but then their goal didn't count. So at the end of the overtime, they were still tied 1-1 and went into a PK shoot out.

Our first shot was blocked by their goalie, and then Hope Solo managed to block a ball. It was our last kick, and Press shot it over the net, and then Sweden scored their last one, and won the match. They'll take on whoever wins the Brazil v Australia match in the semifinals, and the US goes home.

... I cried.

So I guess I have to pick a new team to cheer for, and I picked our neighbor's to the north. They play France while I'm at practice, so I hope they win. I can't find the current game anywhere on my TV, but I know Germany is winning 1-0 against China right now.

Canada, do not fail me. I don't feel like picking a different team to cheer for again.
