My opinion on Prussia
If you're part of the Hetalia fandom, then you're probably familiar with the on-running jokes of Prussia dying (jokes that we laugh at, but in all honesty this fandom would be able to fill a lake with our tears if he goes). People wonder whether he'll just one day disappear, like the Roman Empire, or if he'll just simply lose his immortality and become human.
Well... I think neither. I think, in theory, he'll live as long as Germany does.
Here me out.
Now, Prussia was dissolved in 1947 after WWII. By this time, Germany was already spilt into four respective sections, each controlled by an Ally (USA, UK, France, and USSR). This split took place in 1945, but two separate states didn't officially emerge until 1949, when the democratically control sections merged to form West Germany and the USSR controlled portion became East Germany.
Prussia often refers to Germany as 'West', which has led many to believe that Germany himself occupied West Germany, and many people believe it's safe to assume Prussia was suck in East Germany.
NOW
IF THAT'S TRUE
That means that technically, Prussia BECAME the personification of East Germany until 1990, when the countries reunified into the single Germany we know today.
Let's pause from Prussia and take a look at the Italy brothers. Feliciano and Lovino represent North and South portions of Italy respectively. And they've been doing so since 1861 (save for a period of 1943-1945, when two separate styles of government controlled them). Hetalia takes mostly place in WWII, and between the unification of Italy and WWII, there's 78 years.
If one of the Italy brothers were going to dissolve/turn human and die... I think they would have done it in the time span.
So, I think it's safe to assume that when West and East Germany unified, the same thing happened with Germany and Prussia. They're both Germany.
Now, some of you may be doubting this because of when Hetalia takes place, Prussia wasn't yet dissolved. You might consider that maybe Gilbert managed to disappear like the Roman Empire within the two years that East Germany didn't exist.
But then how do you explain the Hetalia movie?
The movie obviously doesn't take place during WWII, or else the former Allies and Axis wouldn't be working together. It most likely takes place in modern times, say, the 21st century? I mean, look at the technology America has in the movie! Or the TV screen and computers at the meeting in the beginning. They didn't have that it WWII.
And guess what? Prussia's in that movie. So, I think it's safe to assume that while he's still called Prussia, both he and Ludwig represent Germany, like how Feliciano and Lovino both represent Italy.
Just my opinion though.
