Fun fact, even though I'm American, and I speak and write American English... I just can't bring myself to write "gray"

It's just an ugly way of spelling it

I have always spelled it grey, and many English teachers have attempted to correct me, but I just can't bring myself to write that "a" when writing a paper or story or even texting in a casual conversation
