WinterRaptor's opinion on guns and laws and all those wonderful topics

I decided I should wait a bit for everything to settle down before I stated my opinion. By the way, that's exactly what I'm doing. Stating my opinion. That doesn't mean you have to agree with me. That doesn't mean I'm telling you this is what you have to believe as well. It is simply my state of mind. And honestly, a lot of you probably won't agree with me. And that's okay. If you want to, you can leave your opinion below in the comments. But don't try and engage and argument with me or tell me I'm wrong and try and change my views, because they won't change any time soon, I promise.

I will not deny that there isn't a major flaw with guns in this country. Simply put, they are too easy to buy. I'm pretty sure you can walk into Walmart or Dick's and buy a gun just like you can buy alcohol, you just gotta be 21. And that's just plain dangerous.

First off, you should not to selling guns at a supermarket. Dick's? Okay, that's a little more acceptable, because it's a sports store, and hunting can be considered sport. But even then, you should not be able to purchase a gun without registration.

And you can. Because my dad bought a gun before I was born and it's still not registered.

That brings me to the second issue. People need to remember that GUNS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM. They're not, I promise. That's like saying knives are the problem that someone stabs a family while they're sleeping. Are we supposed to make knives illegal then? No, no we won't. Now, I understand that knives are a bit different than guns. You don't use guns every day to cook (although I would pay money to see my mom try to slice a cucumber with our pistol). It's the people who buy them. Before you are allowed to purchase a gun, you should have to go through extensive background checks and temperament tests. For example, I would NEVER EVER trust Alexis to have a gun. Like, I would move out of state if my little sister ever got a gun. But my Uncle Shawn brings his gun to our house, and that's not scary at all. In fact, I feel a lot safer with my Uncle Shawn, knowing he has a concealed weapon.

Third; in a perfect world, we wouldn't need guns to protect ourselves. Unfortunately, this isn't a perfect world. Making guns unattainable to citizens won't stop these mass shootings you're seeing. There might be fewer, for sure there will be less shootings. It will deter some people, but those crazy asses bent on killing people? THEY WILL STILL GET GUNS. Laws will not stop that. Heroines illegal, right? People still shoot it. I had a drug dealer across the street who shot heroine, and no one ever stopped him. People find ways around laws, they will still obtain guns, and they will still kill people. So why shouldn't I have a gun for self protection? I can I assure you I'll be purchasing a gun when I'm old enough and learning how to protect myself, before I get either open carry license or a concealed weapons permit.

Either way, while there needs to be reforms and restrictions, don't argue that I shouldn't have a gun. Don't take away my second amendment rights because of terrorists and police brutality and people who aren't right in the head. Because that isn't the right way to go about it at all.

Okay I'm gonna watching Revenge of the Fallen now you can comment if you want to but I wouldn't expect a response.
