Pin drop silence is dancing in a white-painted room. Pungent smell of chemicals and medicines are roaming in every corner of the room. Iris is lying on a white hospital bed with her eyes closed while Elroy holds her palms tightly. He keeps on kissing her palms, fixing his eyes on Iris' tired face.

Creak!

Hearing the door opening, Elroy looks up and gives a weak smile to a lady. Her deep brown hair is in a bun as she enters wearing the white doctor's coat. She is holding a report with her trembling hands. Her face turns pale as soon as her eyes fall on the couple.

"How's she doctor? It's nothing serious right?" Tension is crystal clear in Elroy's voice as he frowns. Hearing him, Iris also opens her eyes and looks at the nervous doctor expectantly. The doctor clutches the report tightly and gives a forced smile.

"Everything is okay. For now. But...". With sweaty palms she hands the report to Elroy. Both Elroy and Iris look at her, panicked.

"Iris is very stressed. It's taking a toll on her health, specially the baby. And... the way she fell today has made the situation more complicated. If any other mishap happens then," the doctor takes a long breathe and utters, "It'll be difficult to save both mother and baby."

"No!" Iris and Elroy scream with a strained voice as their joined hands tighten their grip.

"For now, she is okay. I think a vacation of 3 to 4 days will do her good." While the doctor said these words, she keeps on looking outside the window.

"Vacation? Now? It's already 8 months. Will it be okay? If something happens within those days, then..." Elroy looks at Iris with questioning eyes.

"Don't worry. The time has not come. It'll take another half a month." A small smile comes on the doctor's face as she caresses the bump.

"Okay! Do you have any suggestions?" Hearing this from Elroy, the doctor's shoulders stiffen. She stops caressing the bump and jerks her hand away. Looking at Iris, the doctor takes a deep breath and says, "Um... yes. I... I know about a cottage in the outskirts of the town. The place is calm and soothing. I think it'll be good for a family trip." As soon as the doctor finishes the last word, she looks towards the window from where a shadow disappears. She puts her sweaty hand into her coat's pocket. Bringing out a red-coloured brochure, she gives it to Elroy.

"Thanks doc." Elroy takes it with a smile. The doctor nods a little and helps Iris in getting down off the bed. Smiling at the doctor for the last time, the couple leaves the room.

The very next moment, the doctor sits on the floor with a thud like a lifeless body while she fixes her eyes on the closed door.

Creak!

A hooded lady, covered in black, enters the room. Black streaks of hair is visible on her covered face. But her dark green eyes are enough to spit the venom. Seeing her, the doctor breaks down into tears with a shriek. She sobs hysterically as she says in a teary voice, "I have done what... ever you told me to... to do. Now please leave my daughter. Please. I beg you." Her whole body trembles while the hooded lady bends down chuckling a little.

"It's so fun to see someone going through the same pain." The doctor goes on crying while the hooded woman walks towards her. Holding the doctor's shoulders, she makes her stand. The woman wipes the flowing tears from the doctor's face as she says with her sweet yet cold voice, "I can understand what you are feeling. But what can I do? My revenge will be incomplete without you. But you need not worry anymore. You have done a great job." Her evil eyes gleam with an unknown happiness as she brings out her phone, calls someone and says, "Leave the girl."

"See. I told you. You do my work and I'll leave your daughter. Now listen carefully,". Her grip on the doctor's shoulders tighten as her eyes turn cold like piercing ice. "I shall not see you in this town from tomorrow until and unless I want you to come back." Hearing this, the doctor shots a dagger.

The woman's grip loosens seeing a familiar pain and anger in the doctor's eyes. The darkness in her eyes soften. But the softness stays just for a second. Regaining her coldness, she brings her mouth closer to the doctor's face and pierces her coldness making the doctor shiver in terror, "Don't. You. Dare." Saying these, the woman leaves the room closing the door with a bang while the afraid mother collapses on the bed.
