Baekhyun walked into the warm lobby of the fertility clinic with a bright smile, as Kyungsoo looked like a witness to a horrible accident by the petrified expression of his face. Baekhyun informed the receptionist of his arrival before taking a seat beside Kyungsoo in the waiting area, and he nudged his arm before quietly hissing, "You look like your trying to push out a poop, stop frowning already."

Kyungsoo's jaw dropped and he cried, "I do not!"

Baekhyun snickered. "Do too."

"Oh you shut up!" he hissed.

Baekhyun grinned as he flipped through a magazine, passing the time before he was called for his appointment. A few more minutes passed before a woman dressed in a pants suit appeared holding a clipboard, she smiled as she said, "Byun Baekhyun?"

Baekhyun quickly stood up as he chirped, "That's me!"

The woman smiled and said, "Follow me, please."

Baekhyun nodded and whacked the top of Kyungsoo's head as he hissed, "Come on!"

Kyungsoo grumbled and rubbed his head as his quietly hissed, "Ass."

Baekhyun ignored him as they followed the woman down a hallway into a nicely decorated office. "Please, take a seat," she said as she gestured to the two chairs in front of her desk. Baekhyun and Kyungsoo took a seat as she continued by saying, "My name's Janet, and I see from your paperwork, Baekhyun, that you're looking for a sperm donor?"

Baekhyun nodded. "I am."

Janet smiled. "I can let you look through our candidates while I run to get your paperwork, since we've approved you as a client."

Baekhyun smiled. "Thank you so much, that would be wonderful!"

Janet nodded as she pulled out a relatively big stack of files, containing all the sperm donors provided information. As she passed the files over she said, "Just so you know, every donor has undergone an extensive background check, and before you pick your donor we also do a drug check. So I reassure you, everything is very efficient and positive."

Baekhyun nodded as he accepted the files, and Janet excused herself before going to get Baekhyun's paperwork. Baekhyun grinned eagerly as he flipped open the first applicants file, only to immediately shut it as he gasped, "Ugh, they were ugly!"

Kyungsoo bursted into laughter as Baekhyun moved onto the next file. It took him close to an hour, and a comparison of his top three candidates before he ultimately decided on a man in his late twenties. Baekhyun smiled and excitedly said, "I think he will do perfectly!"

Janet smiled too and collected the other files, and put them away before taking Baekhyun's approved candidate as she said, "Alright, Mr. Byun, I'll give him a call after I get his drug test results and then I'll get the paperwork started. I'll call you back within three days or so, and then we can begin the process."

Baekhyun smiled as he said, "I have a few questions."

"Yes, Mr. Byun, and they are?"

"Well, once the process begins, how soon after will I be able to know whether or not I'm pregnant?" Baekhyun asked.

"Twenty-four hours at the most, just enough time to give the sperm sample a chance to attach itself," Janet replied.

Baekhyun nodded. "Also, would I ever be able to meet my sperm donor?"

Janet pursed her lips before replying, "Usually it doesn't happen, but I guess if your donor doesn't mind, I can either arrange for you to meet or provide you with his number with his permission."

Baekhyun nodded. "Thank you, I'd really appreciate that."

"You're welcome, Baekhyun, I'll see you again soon."

Baekhyun smiled again, and then he was leaving with Kyungsoo, with plans to binge a whole season of Friends —- since it was Baekhyun's favorite American TV show. The whole way back to his small house, he couldn't stop smiling, excited his dream of having a baby was finally within reach.
