Chapter 28: To All The Youngster's Without Dreams
By the time the movie was over, the rest of the boys had passed out. I had to keep myself from laughing once the end credits began to roll, and was careful to untangle myself from the boys as quiet as possible.
I gathered up all of the boxes and tossed them in the trash, save for the ones that still had food in it. I grabbed a sharpie and labeled the ones that did before sticking them in the fridge. Then I moved on to the mugs of hot chocolate and other drinks we had, rinsing out the dishes and putting them in the dishwasher.
Finally, I take another glance towards the boys that are sprawled out all over our living room. I should try and get them to their rooms, I think to myself as I turn off the television. I don't want them to wake up with sore muscles from how they slept.
The boys are all out cold, so I end up carrying each and every one of them up to their rooms. Even Jin, who I thought would surely wake up on the way there. Thanks to my training and workout regimen I've gotten a lot stronger, though that's not to say I didn't struggle a little.
Once everyone is fast asleep in their beds, I head to my own room to get ready for the night. I pick out a simple set of black pajamas, the top inscribed with the words 'Bedtime is the Best Time' in white cursive font.
I gather my things and head into my bathroom, turning on the shower and changing out of my old clothes. I can't believe we'll be moving back, I think to myself, thoughts wandering back to my meeting with Jiho-nim as I step into the shower. The hot water trails down my back and drenches my hair, which has now faded to a pastel pink color.
The more I think about it though, the more it doesn't seem like the worst idea. Sure, like Jimin said, that place is filled with awful memories. But we also made some amazing ones there too, so many of them that I think they overshadow the bad. That place was my first home and where I started my journey after all.
I let out a sigh as the hot water soothes my sore muscles, watching the droplets fall to the shower floor. Look on the bright side, Taylor. You'll have that little secret door to Jimin's room again, so if you ever need him he's right there.
The thought makes me feel a little better, so I finish up my shower and change into my pajamas while keeping the positive thoughts fresh in my mind. I find myself sitting on the edge of my bed while looking out my balcony window, watching the snow fall gently from the white winter sky.
"Taylor, are you sure you're alright to perform?"
We just finished up rehearsals, and I'll admit that I struggled a little. I didn't get much sleep last night since I was throwing up a bit, and let me tell you that seeing pink medicine come back up is the weirdest thing ever. Now we're all taking the time to rest and recuperate before tonight's performance.
Yoongi gives me a worried look as I nod while holding a water bottle up to my head. "I'll be good, I think I just need to lay down for a bit. Plus I still have to cover my tattoos before we start."
Due to the recent development of my tattoos, we had no choice but to tell the staff, with PD Bang's encouragement. It's very hard to cover up now, and eventually it will have to be revealed to the public. For now though, I'll be using makeup over my arm and leg for performances, and the staff will edit them out during our videos.
"Here, let me help then," Yoongi starts with a smile, looking around until he finds the products he needs.
"Are you sure? It's a bit tedious," I admit with a bit of hesitance, but the little meow meow shakes his head.
"I'm sure, it'll save you time. Plus, I don't have anything else to do." He hands me the water bottle so I can keep my face cool as he works.
I feel my face flush as he takes my right hand, pressing the sponge into the foundation before dabbing away at my arm. "What are the other guys up to?"
"Eh, just going over more of the choreography. Hobi is making sure that Jin gets everything down, and Jimin is.. Jimin."
"That's a little mean to say about our mochi!"
"I didn't mean it in a bad way. He just works too hard, like you. You know how he gets sometimes." Yoongi smiles as he finishes up my arm, thankfully my leg is already done. "I'm going to take a nap before tonight's concert. Want to join me?"
I can't help but smile as I set the water bottle down, unable to stifle a yawn as I stand up from my chair. Yoongi goes and makes himself comfortable, lying down with his head on a pillow. He sets an alarm as I walk over and lay on top of him, chuckling a bit as I look up at him with big puppy eyes. "What's with the face?" he asks as he sets his phone down.
"We never got to hear anything from Jungkook before at our intervention.. I'm a little worried."
Yoongi runs a hand through my hair as he shifts a pillow under his head. "Yeah, me too. But he's probably not ready to say anything about it. Though I think he could use a day to relax, he's been working really hard lately. Not that the rest of us haven't, but he just seems extra tense."
I think about his words for a moment, a small smile forming on my lips. "If I didn't know you any better, I'd think you're making the face of when you've got an idea and know damn well it's gonna work." Yoongi continues, to which I merely nod.
"Well, I wish you luck. Now time to nap, I'm absolutely exhausted."
The rest of our lounge time passed, and now I'm trying to get into my outfit for the night. A yellow dress with a black bow, the skirt is slightly pleated and ends at my knees. This is paired with black ankle boots and a matching ribbon in my hair, which has been pulled up into a ponytail.
My makeup has been done to match with black eyeliner and golden shadow. My lips are adorned with a pink gloss, and of course the boy's tattoos are in full view for the most part.
I feel myself getting frustrated as the zipper gets stuck on the back of the dress. It was already so difficult to get on, have I really gained so much weight already? Even the stylist has a frown on her face, but she finally gets it up after I suck in my stomach a little more.
"We'll need to get new measurements from you at some point," she adds before heading off. My heart sinks a little as I look at myself in the mirror, noticing that my waist seems to have gotten bigger since last time.
I don't have time to worry about it now I guess, I think to myself as I make my way out of the room. The boys are all waiting for me at the door, dressed in matching black and yellow suits. Taehyung is even wearing an adorable pair of black glasses.
As a group, we look like a whole hive of bumblebees.
Jin and Jimin whistle as I stand beside them, causing my face to flush a little. "You look so good in yellow," the mochi says, gently tugging on my ponytail. You're just saying that because you're my soulmate.
The boys lead the way towards the stage lift, my gaze trained on my shoes as we walk. I didn't even notice that I had slowed down until I felt someone's hand slip into mine. "Hey, is something wrong?" Namjoon asks in a quiet tone, everyone else waiting a little farther ahead. "You aren't feeling sick still, are you?"
"N-No! It's just.. are you sure it's okay for me to be in some of this songs..?" I ask in a quiet tone, not really wanting the rest of them to hear. "I don't feel as if I deserve it.. they were made before I even showed up.."
"So were 'Fire' and "Save Me', Tajang." Namjoon comments in a quiet tone. "Sure, they may be our early tracks, but that doesn't mean you should be excluded because you weren't there. We decided this as a group, we want you to dance with us as if you've been with us for our whole journey."
The uncertainty doesn't go away, but I nod anyways. We make our way onto the platform, getting into our respective positions before it begins to rise. I'm situated in front of Jimin and Namjoon, kneeling beside Hobi while careful not to let my skirt ride up.
As soon as the lights shine down on us, the fans go absolutely wild. Anyone who knows our group well enough recognizes the debut song that made them who they are today.

I hurry off to the left end of the formation right next to Jungkook, not wasting any time getting into my window. The dress is long enough that when we go into the dance, it barely reveals the black safety shorts underneath.

I take my place beside Namjoon as Yoongi begins his verse, though I felt so bad for Taehyung. Who's bright idea was it to make him kneel while Jimin's booty is in his face? It gives me a little bit of second hand embarrassment, but hey, who am I to judge their debut choreography.
I spin to the right as Namjoon's part comes in, kneeling behind him between Taehyung and Jin. Once it gets to the point that everyone splits off and makes the next formation, the Gucci boy and I actually split center just before Jungkook gives his line.

Everyone spins around Tae as his part comes in, myself splitting center on his left. I keep my position as J-hope enters, then as the boys rotate I shift to split on the right once Jungkook comes in with his iconic rap.
This guy is a better rapper than I will ever be, I think to myself as he absolutely SLAYS the verse, and while everyone shifts again to move into Namjoon's next part, I take these very extra seconds to mentally prepare for my entrance.

My skirt flares as I jump up, doing my best not to smile so as to fit the vibe of the song. Jungkook dances behind me as I start the verse, and rotates with me to enter with his lines.
Once it gets to the next part, Jimin and I both split center, and usually when we do this part everyone is a little more spread out than they were in the original choreography so that way everyone is seen.

Though I'm not as trained as the boys are for this song, I focus my attention on my movements, not wanting to miss a single beat. I can feel a slight about of sweat begin to trickle from my pores from how hard I'm hitting these steps. It's not as bad as it was during debut though, so that's an improvement right?

The screams of the fans as Jimin lifts his shirt beside me nearly throws me off, but I manage to keep my focus. I keep my gaze trained on the audience, resisting the surprising urge to look over at the mochi. C'mon Taylor, you've seen all that before! Get your head in the game!
I hear the fans cheering as the song goes on, fueling my drive to keep going. The rush that fills my veins as I see their smiling faces is like no sugar high I've ever experienced; it's pure, unadulterated joy. I've missed this so much, I wish our last concerts hadn't been canceled. So I'll make up for it today by giving them the best performance I can!

The crowd goes wild as I took over Namjoon's rap here, doing my best to look tough as nails despite my bright pink hair. I even hear a few girls in the front shrieking in surprise, and some of the fans even rap along with me. The sound creates a chorus that echoes through the stadium, and I resist the urge to smile as we get ready to wrap it up.
Then comes the iconic part where Jimin runs along our backs. The issue is, now there's another body to account for when it comes to timing. I'm situated in the middle beside Namjoon, and Jungkook has to move a little bit faster to get across in time.
I feel Jimin's shoe hit my back and drop just like we practiced, when I turned around for the final verse I can tell they nailed it with flying colors.

A bit of an odd way to end it off, but I feel like that last line fit too well. Sorry it took so long to release this chapter, I didn't want to release anything half done after all. If you haven't already, please drop a follow so you don't miss any announcements I make on the story!
Also, 'A Rose Between Thorns' has been submitted for this years Watty Awards! I hope this will show more people the project I worked so hard on, and that they will enjoy it as much as I do.
