Chapter 13: Jealousy
Yoongi's POV-
"Taylor, wait!"
I watch as Taehyung chases after our female maknae, who has a small suitcase in one hand and Sketch's leash in the other. Taylor looks to be heading towards a classic yellow taxi, stopping in front of it as the driver pops the trunk.
"Please, don't go!" Taehyung cries, reaching out a hand towards her. "I'm trying my best to make things right, please just give me another chance!"
"I trusted you!" She screams, whipping back around to face him.
"I trusted you but you couldn't put that same faith in me. You hurt my best friend, and I couldn't be there for her like I wanted to because YOU were so suspicious of her! I don't care what you do, there is nothing that could make up for that kind of betrayal."
"And I feel awful, Noona! I'm so sorry that I doubted you, and I'm sorry that I was blind to what was really going on but believe me when I say that I can change! Everything can be like it used to be, like it was when you first arrived!"
Taylor merely shakes her head, putting her suitcase in the trunk before closing it. "No matter which way you look at it, it's evidently clear that nothing will ever be the same again. So please just shut up."
Taehyung's face pales as she opens the taxi door, Sketch hopping into the car with his tongue lolling out of his mouth.
"You promised me you wouldn't leave, you promised all of us!" He cries, a last attempt to get the woman to stay. "Are you just going to break that promise?"
Watching this play out breaks my heart, and I feel a sharp pain in my chest as she merely scowls at him in return. "You broke me first," is all she says, before slipping into the car and slamming the door shut.
Tears begin to stream down Taehyung's eyes as the taxi speeds off, slowly wrapping his arms around himself as he collapses with grief.
The last thing I see is her tattoo on his skin, and I watch as it slowly cracks and shatters completely.
I let out a light gasp as I opened my eyes, bolting upright in my bed. My heart is racing as I look around in my pitch black room, breathing out a sigh of relief after a few moments.
Just a nightmare, I think to myself as I glance at my clock. The red glowing numbers show that it's about two in the morning. Well, there's no way I'm going back to sleep tonight, not after all that.
Something did feel off about the dream though, why would those thoughts ever cross my mind? And why was Taehyung there, of all people? It doesn't make any sense.
Then again, the dream doesn't feel like one of mine either.
I swing my legs over the side of my bed, figuring I'd go check on the two in Taehyung's room. The man practically hauled her up as soon as she and Jimin got home, the latter going up to join them after getting a bunch of food first.
I don't know if he left or decided to stay in there, but I have to be careful not to wake anyone up.
I close my eyes and focus on the dream for a moment, pulling up one of the scenes in my head. I don't think it's Taylor's dream.. so most likely it's Taehyung's, I think to myself.
I can feel a slight warmth coming from his tattoo on my shoulder, as if confirming my suspicions.
The halls are dark, but I see a faint light coming from underneath Taehyung's door. I wonder why they're up so late. Careful not to make too much noise, I gently tap on the door before entering so they know I'm here.
I see Taehyung and Jimin asleep on the bed, the former snoring softly with his head buried in Jimin's chest. The lamp beside the bed is on, so I'm assuming they passed out and forgot to turn it off.
Taylor is sitting at Taehyung's desk, the only sound in the room is the clicking of her mouse while she's doing things on her laptop.
Definitely Taehyung's dream, I think to myself as I walk over to her. Jimin would have been in it if it was his own. "Hey, what are you still doing up?" I ask in a quiet tone so as not to spook her.
"Oh hey," Taylor says, and I catch a glimpse of the words on her screen before she hurriedly closes all of her tabs. "I could ask you the same, mister."
I roll my eyes and wrap my arms around her neck, resting my chin on her head. I'm not going to tell her about the nightmare, she'll only worry more than she already is. Plus she'll ask what it was about, I can't tell her that either.
She told me that her last set of recurring dreams were like a premonition for what was to come between her, Taehyung and Hobi. A premonition she didn't take notice of until it was too late, and the damage was done.
The last thing I want is for her to think this is some kind of premonition too.
"Just woke up and couldn't go back to bed," I lied. "But don't ignore the question, miss thing. You should be asleep, don't you have to be up early?"
"Yeah, but I had some things to do first," she says as she swivels towards me in her chair, causing me to lean back a bit and let go of her. "Those two fell asleep an hour or so after we got home, so I've just been working on a couple things. I have to get a head start while I can, you know?"
"Yes, but you shouldn't be staying up late like this. I do it when I know I can afford too, but from what Jin told us your schedule is jam packed. I just don't want to see you overworking yourself again.."
I remember those days before her debut, she would spend hours in the practice room because she felt like she had no other choice. That she had to constantly play catch up with the rest of us since she didn't have our kind of training.
I don't want her to get back into those bad habits.
"Don't worry, I was planning to go lay down in the next hour," Taylor says with a slight smile on her face. "I figured I'd head back to my room since those two are all snuggled up over there."
The end of her sentence had a bit of sadness to it, which I picked up on immediately. "Is something wrong?" I ask as I run my hand through her hair. She normally keeps it down these days, saying that she's tired of it coming out of the braids she used to have them in.
"I just.. I don't know. I see how close those two are and I can't help but wonder if I could ever be that way with Namjoon," she replies, resting her forehead against my chest.
"There is still so much I don't know about him, when it feels like he knows everything about me. His favorite color, his favorite song, his favorite food, all of the things that may seem trivial are things that I have yet to figure out."
"Earlier Taehyung started tearing up at one of the sad scenes in the movie we were watching, and Jimin knew what he needed before Tae even had to ask. I can't help but feel a little jealous... is that too selfish of me?"
"Of course not," I reply with a small laugh, careful not to be too loud. We don't want the others to wake up from their cozy slumber.
"It's never selfish to feel jealousy, or want to know more about your soulmate. It's never wrong to wish for what someone else has.The difference between you two and them is that they've had much more time to strengthen their bond."
"You haven't known us for very long, so it's only natural that you don't know as much as you feel you should. We only know so much about you because we wanted to make you as comfortable with us as possible, remember?"
"Plus, I'm sure that Namjoon would be happy to answer any questions you want to ask. The best part is that you aren't alone, I know he wants to be just as close to you as you want to be with him. You should have seen his face when you walked into the room the night of your first date! Freaking priceless."
Our rose smiles up at me before hugging me tightly, and I can tell she's already feeling a bit happier. "Thanks, Yoongi. You're right, maybe I'll ask him the next time we're both free."
Taylor stands up and looks over at the two cuddled together on the bed. "I should probably head to my own room.. I don't want to bother those two."
"You know, I was thinking about heading over to Hobi's room to sleep after this," I start, tilting my head with a grin on my face. "And I know Jin is with Jungkook. So why not head over to Namjoon's room?"
"Are you sure?" she asks, reaching up to mess with my hair a bit. "I don't want to bother him, and I don't want to wake him up by accident."
"Ah he's got an early day tomorrow too, so it'd probably be the other way around. There's no way you'd be bothering him, if anything waking up to you next to him would be a welcome surprise."
Taylor's smile only grows wider as she hugs me for a few moments, before turning around to grab her laptop. I wait for her by the door as she gets her things together, making sure to turn off all of the lights before leaving the room.
I walk her to her room, figuring she can head to Namjoon's on her own. She is a grown woman after all. "Oh, and Taylor?" I ask, and she turns to me with a raised brow.
"His favorite color is black."
Taylor gives me another sweet smile before reaching up to kiss my cheek. "I'll keep that in mind," she replies before heading over to her desk.
I bid her goodnight and head off towards Hoseok's room, letting myself in since I know the sunshine won't complain about it.
"Yoongi, is that you?" I hear his muffled voice from his place on the bed.
"Yeah, I didn't know you were still up," I reply as I make my way over. I shiver as I feel the chill in his room, quietly sliding under the blankets beside him.
I feel his arms wrap around me as he buries his face in my chest, his skin a little cold to the touch. "You're warm," he slurs, so I assume he must be only half awake. "Stay and keep me company.."
I roll my eyes and rest my head on the pillow, pulling the blanket further over us with a smile on my face.
"Don't worry, Hobi. I'm not going anywhere."
A little bit of sope to end off the chapter. I want to include more of the ships here and there but please understand that as addressed in book one, being soulmates does NOT equate to romance.
I know a lot of you want some more romantic scenes but Taylor IS still the main focus of the story. I can't say there will or won't be any scenes like that between members, but please be patient with me as I can only write what my inspiration can give me.
