Tami's POV

I was shocked to see that there were so many pictures of mine everywhere instead of Gauravi's.

Who got these pictures here?

They were the best pictures of mine ever clicked. Some pictures were from the wedding as well.

I had felt pangs of pain when he said that removing her pictures from here would not change everything and he doesn't need to see her pictures to see her. Though I knew it, it hurt when he said all those things, especially after a very good evening spent with everyone around and when I thought that things might change for good.

But he disillusioned me by making it clear that he will not accept me at any cost, and that I disgust him when I try to do all this...

All this?? What was all that? I didn't do anything. He asked me why was I dressed like that. And after a hot banter, I came to know that he gave all those gifts because his parents pushed him.

Then he said that I would get everything, that I should get, being his wife, but not him. I was annoyed but didn't say anything because of our parents and the friendship between them.

But, what does he think of himself?? I didn't want anything from him that my family had provided or could provide to me, I wanted his love the unconditional love he gave to my sister. I could understand what was going on in his mind but what was my fault in it? Why was he punishing me?

I really wanted to sign the divorce papers and leave the mansion but I could not do that without giving our marriage a last try. While I was clearing the broken pieces of the glass, I could feel his eyes on me. I was sure he wanted me to react. He wanted me to fight with him, but I didn't want to give him that satisfaction.

After I cleaned the broken glass pieces, I went to bed to sleep. I simply turned my back to him and slept on one edge of the bed.

***********

The next day I got up early and after getting ready, I came downstairs. Dad and mom were having tea and I joined them with freshly squeezed sweet lime juice.

Just then Megha Aunty got a call from her brother, her mom was not well so she had to go to meet her and hence I helped her with packing and she left immediately. Now I was at home with Mehul uncle and Mihir. After breakfast, both of them went to Dad's office.

The whole day passed like that and there was no communication between Mihir and me. I just made sure that Dad was taking a proper diet and taking all the medicines.

The next day...

The sun was just beginning to rise when I awoke, determined to make the most of the quiet morning. I had planned a simple breakfast, a light version of dhokla accompanied by some freshly made sprouts. I moved through the kitchen with ease, the rhythmic chopping and stirring a comforting start to my day. The familiar scents of green chilies, curry leaves, and mustard seeds filled the air, promising a meal that was both nourishing and comforting.

Mihir, had already spoken to Dad earlier, about some important work he had at the office. Shortly after, he left the house, leaving me to enjoy breakfast with Dad. We sat together at the dining table, savoring each bite and the rare moments of leisurely conversation as he said that he was not in the mood to go to the office.  Dad, who had always been very sweet to me, seemed particularly relaxed this morning, and it warmed my heart to see him so content. We planned to have a relaxing day watching some old classic comedies.

Just as we were finishing up, my phone buzzed with an incoming call. It was from my college, requesting my immediate presence for some urgent matter. I explained the situation to Dad, who, ever supportive, encouraged me to go and attend to it. " You don't need to ask me, beta, I'll be fine here. You go take care of your responsibilities."

I nodded, grateful for his understanding, and hurried upstairs to get ready. As I was changing, the doorbell rang. Trusting that the servants would handle it, I didn't pay much attention. Instead, I focused on getting dressed, my mind already occupied with thoughts of what the college might need from me.
