Gautami's POV

It was not like I wanted him to leave Gaurvi and fall in love with me. But I always felt that he loved her but she didn't love him back, he was still just her best friend.

I don't know why that day I did not feel like meeting all of them when they were comfortable with him so I got myself busy with a project that I had to submit in my college. It was my last project that was to be submitted to the college as I had completed my post-graduation, I had already given my final exams and was about to join the hospital for my internship as a dietician like my Mom.

After some time, I heard a commotion outside and when I went out to see what was wrong, I saw that Dad and Gaurvi were arguing and then Sri told me that she refused to marry Mihir as she was in love with someone else.

I could not believe what I heard as it seemed to be absolutely impossible. She couldn't be in love with him, but she did claim that she loved him, not Mihir. The arguments went on and on.

Finally, the engagement was broken and a ray of hope flickered when their engagement was broken. But then after that accident when she fell off the stairs, Mihir convinced her again to get married to him. I again suppressed my feelings for him. But today, when she went away with Shlok, I could not stop myself from trying to get this last chance to have him in my life. Thinking all this I slipped into the slumber.

Mihir's POV

I was already very angry when I was forced to go to my room by my mom, an hour ago, and the moment I opened the door, my anger knew no bounds.

It was decorated beautifully, as I had ordered earlier. I had forgotten to cancel all that and now everything seemed to be laughing at me, reminding me how I was left at the altar while Gaurvi chose him over me.

On top of that, I went mad to see Tami, her younger sister, standing there in my decorated room as my wife.  I scattered everything in my room as I was literally fuming.

We both argued and then I was shocked to see her in that flimsy nightwear that was clinging to her body making her look very...  I almost lost my temper seeing her like that as I had imagined this scene with her sister in my mind and everything had changed out of the blue.

I turned and tossed on the couch. Though it was very soft, I always had the habit of sleeping in the middle of the bed, taking up most of the bed, so I could not sleep on the couch. While she was sleeping on my bed as if she owned it.

She didn't even tell me to sleep on the bed while she could sleep on the couch. She was so small in size.

Even if she had said that I would have refused out of chivalry. But at least she should have asked.

Anyway, she should not have agreed to marry me.

I still remember that night when I was shocked to hear that she had a crush on me.

Gaurvi and I had gone shopping, and as we drove back from our shopping excursion, Gaurvi got a call from her sister requesting that her car break down and that if Gaurvi was nearby, could she pick her up.

Since we were nearby, we went to pick her up. Gaurvi’s younger sister, Tami, nestled herself in the back seat, her eyes drooping with exhaustion. The day had been long, and the weight of fatigue pressed heavily upon her. Gaurvi, ever the caring elder sister, attempted to rouse her from her slumber as we pulled up to our home. But Tami remained ensnared in the clutches of sleep, her breathing steady and serene.

I watched as Gaurvi’s efforts to awaken her sister proved futile. With a resigned smile, she turned to me, her eyes conveying a silent plea for assistance. At that moment, I understood the unspoken request and nodded in agreement. I gently lifted Tami from the car, cradling her in my arms as I carried her inside. Her head rested against my chest, and the rhythmic cadence of her breathing lulled me into a contemplative silence.

As I laid her on the bed, a soft murmur escaped her lips, barely audible yet laden with heartfelt sincerity. My breath caught in my throat as her words reached my ears, a confession spoken in the vulnerable realm of dreams.

Tami professed her love for me, her voice infused with a yearning that echoed through the room. Shock coursed through my veins, freezing me in place as I grappled with the magnitude of her revelation.

In that fleeting moment, the boundaries of our reality blurred, and I found myself adrift in a sea of uncertainty. Tami’s words hung in the air, a weighty reminder of emotions left unspoken and desires concealed beneath the surface. I glanced towards Gaurvi, searching for solace in her reassuring gaze, only to find a mirror of my own bewilderment reflected back at me.

Embarrassment crept insidiously into the recesses of my consciousness, mingling with the disquietude that churned within me. Never in my wildest dreams had I imagined myself the object of another’s affection, especially not the sister of my beloved. Gaurvi’s presence served as a poignant reminder of the commitment we shared, a bond forged in the fires of love and devotion.

Yet, amidst the tumult of emotions that threatened to engulf me, a sense of compassion stirred within my heart. Tami’s confession bore the weight of vulnerability, a glimpse into the depths of her unspoken desires. Though her words had caught me off guard, I could not deny the sincerity that underscored her declaration.

In the stillness of the room, I grappled with the implications of Tami’s confession. My thoughts raced, each one vying for dominance as I sought to reconcile the conflicting emotions that warred within me. Guilt gnawed at the edges of my consciousness, a relentless reminder of the loyalty I owed to Gaurvi and the sanctity of our relationship.

But as I looked upon Tami’s sleeping form, a wave of empathy washed over me, softening the edges of my apprehension. She lay before me, vulnerable yet resolute in her declaration of affection, a testament to the complexities of the human heart. And though her words had laid bare the depths of her longing, they also served as a poignant reminder of the fragile nature of our connections.

In the days that followed, I grappled with the aftermath of Tami’s confession, navigating the delicate balance between duty and desire. Gaurvi remained steadfast by my side, her unwavering support a beacon of solace amidst the storm. Together, we confronted the complexities of our emotions, forging ahead with a newfound sense of clarity and purpose.

As time passed, the memory of Tami’s confession faded into the recesses of my mind, yet its imprint remained etched upon my heart. It served as a poignant reminder of the intricacies of love, a tapestry woven from the threads of vulnerability and courage. And though the path ahead may be fraught with uncertainty, I vowed to tread it with unwavering resolve that I need to stay away from her.

She would regret that she married me. I will never be a husband to her. I would never even look at her. As it is, I never looked at any other girl than Gaurvi. So that would be really easy.

I will not even talk to her when we are alone.

She would be married, but I will never touch her. She would never know the feeling of being blissfully happily married.

Don't be so unreasonable, you would have faced a lot of problems if she had not agreed to marry you.  A voice said from within.

Whatever...

Anyway, I would not treat her as my wife and eventually she would ask her way out of the wedding. Pleased with my idea, I tried to sleep again and this time I managed to sleep.
