Chapter 12
Third person's POV
Every step she took seemed to echo with the melody of tradition and grace, her beauty akin to a delicate rose in full bloom, radiating elegance and purity, though she was wearing a translucent tissue veil.
At the stage, Mihir, the heir to India's wealthiest man, Mehul Shah, stood regally, his presence commanding attention with an air of quiet dignity.
His traditional attire, embellished with intricate embroidery and shimmering embellishments, mirrored the grandeur of the occasion.
Despite his stoic exterior, turmoil raged within him, torn between duty and desire, his heart still tethered to the woman who had left him for another man.
" Oh God!! She is looking so pretty, is that Gaurvi? But why the hell is she wearing that veil? Who covers the face with a veil these days? What's wrong with her??" Vihan said all of a sudden.
" Whatever!! She is looking beautiful, but why did she change her lehenga? " Roohi muttered.
" Hunh? What?" Vihan asked her.
" Nothing! "
" Anyway, I think she is wearing this veil to tease Mihir. She knows how crazy he is about her. Maybe that's why he is a bit upset. " Vihan said looking at him.
" Maybe, she and her pranks. Anyway, let's tease them. "
" Hey Mihir, are you even breathing?? " Roohi said and giggled. Vihan looked at her weirdly but joined the teasing.
" Is your heart working well?? " Vihan said and placed a hand on his heart to check his heartbeat.
" Shut up!! Behave! " Mihir glared at both of them. They just grinned after getting a reaction out of him.
Tami approached the mandap with measured steps, her eyes fixed on Mihir, her heart fluttering with a mixture of trepidation and hope. While Mihir stood there without any expression on his face. The excitement he had when he came here was gone.
" Why are you looking so tense all of a sudden?? Are you stressed about the wedding night?? Don't worry, I will give you some tips. " Vihan whispered.
" Shut up! " Mihir said with a clenched jaw.
As the sacred rituals commenced, the guests were mesmerized by the intricate choreography of the ceremony. Each ritual, meticulously planned and executed, spoke to the rich cultural heritage and traditions that bound the families together.
The exchange of garlands, the jai mala, symbolized the union of two souls bound together by the intricacies of fate. Amidst the joyous celebrations and ceremonial rituals, a bittersweet undercurrent lingered, a reminder of the sacrifices made in the name of familial duty and societal expectations.
They were led to the mandap after that.
" Despite the veil, she is looking so pretty, I wonder why I never flirted with her? " Vihan said and Roohi rolled her eyes.
" What?? No comment from your side?? " Vihan asked.
" Well, I am more interested in all the handsome men present here. Look, Parshav Rajvanshi is so handsome. Even Siddh is looking awesome today, tall dark, and handsome, just like his dad and Gautam uncle. " Roohi said with admiration evident in his eyes.
" Why are you looking at all the men around all of a sudden?? " Vihan asked.
" Now that both Raj and Ron bhai are married, my family wants me to get married. So I am looking around to see who might be a good match for me. These two look good, they both are doctors, very handsome, and belong to our friend circle so our families know each other."
" So, I am a doctor and everyone knows I am very handsome. " Vihan said.
" Siddh is a boxing champion like Gautam uncle. No one will ever mess with me, if I marry him. And Parshav is a Prince. Wow!! " She said looking at both of them continuously.
" So what?? I belong to a royal family too. "
" Why are you telling me all that? Of course, I know it." She replied lookimng surprised.
" So?? " He asked with shocked expressions.
" So?? " She made a face as if she didn't get what he was saying.
" When and how did you become so interested in men all of a sudden? " He asked looking at her as if she had two heads.
" Well since our two friends got married today, I would not mind getting settled with a nice man myself. See all this is so romantic. " She replied looking around with twinkling eyes.
" Roohi... " Vihan was about to say something, but Roohi stopped him.
" Shhh... Let me enjoy the wedding and decide who is the better one out of the two men. " She said looking at both Siddh and Parshav. " She replied.
" Better for what? " Vihan asked with a raised eyebrow.
" For me to get married. "
" Roohi!! What... "
" Shh... Our friends are getting married. We should go after them. " Roohi said and went to the mandap after the bride and groom. Vihan looked at both men and followed her.
