New Information

Like all good love stories, it started with a group of borderline drunk friends, karaoke, needlessly intensive competition, and secrets. Not necessarily in that order.

They had wanted to hang out as a group once more, all of them having become busier after graduating university. They kept in touch, of course, and saw each other as often as they could but it had definitely been far too long since they all had the time to hang out as a unit...which is how they found themselves pitching in to rent a massive lakeside cabin for two weeks, big enough to house all the members of their old study group if they bunked three per room.

Everyone had shown up on the same day in staggering intervals of arrival, with the self appointed 'captains' of their study group being the first group to arrive. The quartet of captains put themselves in charge of room assignments, showing everyone to their rooms once they arrived so they could get settled. To their great relief all the guests showed up within two hours of each other and before noon so they had the entire afternoon and evening to hang out and catch up with each other.

The majority of the group was situated in the common area of the cabin to discuss what to do on their first day of vacation when Kenma stalked in from the hallway leading to the room he was assigned. He marched up to the group with a scowl. "Oikawa, can we switch rooms? If I am stuck in that room for two weeks I cannot be held responsible for what will happen."

Oikawa pursed his lips, hand going to rub his chin. "If I switch with you then I won't be rooming with Shoyo, plus you would be with Bo and I honestly don't know who is the lesser of the two evils, him or Kuroo-chan."

"Ouch!"

"I'll pay for all your meals and drinks on this vacation."

An over dramatic gasp sounded from behind the annoyed man. "Kenma! How could you want to switch roomies? It will be just like old times, us having sleepovers and gossiping into the night."

"That is precisely why I want to switch rooms. Isn't the point of this trip to catch up with those we don't see often? Why am I rooming with two of the people I see most often?"

Daichi's chuckle interrupted the bubbling argument between the childhood friends and drew the group's attention to him. "We can always just have a big sleepover here in the living room if you prefer. That way we can all gossip the night away, as a group."

Kenma's scowl deepened for a moment before he sighed, resigning himself to his fate. "Fine." He turned his tired gaze to his best friend. "But after this vacation I need at least three weeks without seeing either of you to recover, got it?"

"No contact at all or..?"

"No in person interactions, minimal communications outside of work."

Akaashi nodded. "Seems fair."

"Great! With that settled, let's vote on tonight's festivities!" Suga clapped his hands eagerly. "Our options are a bonfire, a game night, or karaoke."

"Bonfire should be one of our last nights." Suna nodded in agreement with Osamu's statement.

"We should also start our vacation off with excitement and a bang and a game night...it's not it." Suga shrugged. "No offense, Kenma."

Kenma waved him off, slumping onto the couch next to Hinata.

"Karaoke it is then!" Atsumu cheered, sticking his tongue and middle finger out when his brother insulted his singing under his breath. "Yer just jealous."

Ignoring the brawl that broke out between the twins, Iwaizumi jumped from his perch on the counter. "Alright, now that we know what we are doing tonight, let's discuss lunch. Osamu is cooking, right?"

Akaashi put a hand over his chest, deadpanning. "A man after my heart, Iwaizumi-san."

"He is the most logical choice..." Hinata mumbled.

"Aw, Daichi, he is learning to use his brain!" Suga cooed, laughing when the red head spluttered in offense.

In a unanimous vote it was decided that Osamu would be making lunch for the group, having the much appreciated side effect of breaking up the brotherly squabble. The rest of the afternoon was spent in peace, everyone gorging themselves on Osamu's food while reminiscing about their college days before they retreated to their rooms to get ready for the night's activity.

They had chosen a karaoke bar prior to leaving the cabin, minimizing the time wasted on making that decision and maximizing their time to embarrass themselves and each other. Iwaizumi had thought ahead and booked a room as soon as they had decided where they were going so once they arrived and got checked in they were escorted to their reserved room, everyone immediately claiming a spot on the couches and chairs.

"I get to sing the first song!" Bokuto declared, rushing to the microphone rather than fighting for a seat. He instantly cued up a song, clearing his throat dramatically.

"Aw, a love song." Kuroo cooed while leafing through the drink menu. "Who's the lucky guy?"

"Who else but you, babe." Bokuto winked, blowing a kiss to Kuroo who pretended to catch it and clutch it close to his chest, batting his lashes at the other man. Bokuto chuckled before launching into the song, closing his eyes to maximize the theatrics.

"'Bleeding Love'...isn't this song 'bout an unrequited love?" Suna snickered, pressing the button to alert the staff that they were ready to order.

"It's still romantic." Astumu sniffed indignantly before relaying his order to the newly arrived server.

While Bokuto was belting out his chosen song his audience were all deciding on their own songs to sing, sipping on their delivered drinks while they mulled over their options. Hinata was trying to convince Kenma to sing a duet with him, the rest of the group ignoring the badgering Kenma was subjected to in favor of deciding who would sing next. Nobody was expecting Akaashi to wordlessly take the microphone from Bokuto let alone for him to cue up a Taylor Swift song once he reached the machine.

The opening notes to 'Paper Rings' caused Osamu to snort, elbowing his twin. "Now this is romantic."

Suga laughed, handing out the round of shots he had previously ordered for everyone. "Is that our theme for the night? Love songs?"

Clinking their shot glasses in a cheer, Iwaizumi shuddered from the burn of the alcohol in his throat. "Speak for yourself, I'm not singing a love song."

"Iwa-chan doesn't know what love is." Oikawa sniffed. "It's tragic."

"Shoyo and I are also not doing a love song." Kenma admitted defeat, the red head nodding eagerly next to him. Kenma eyed him with a smirk. "He let me pick so now I am making it his problem."

"I'm going to rap!" Hinata announced cheerfully.

Daichi nodded wordlessly to Suna, communicating that he wanted a copy of the video Suna would inevitably be recording. Suna gave him a thumbs up in return.

The evening continued on and the drinks kept flowing, everyone getting up to the stage at one point or another to perform. They had been in the booth for a few hours and not a single one of them wasn't feeling the effects of the copious amount of alcohol they had consumed. Some, obviously, more so than others, as evident by Suga and Oikawa loudly begging Kuroo to sing again.

"You've only sung like twice! You gotta go again!" Suga nodded eagerly along with Oikawa's whines. "Please, Kuroo-chan? For me?"

Letting out a long sigh, Kuroo gave in, pushing himself to stand. He stood at the machine for a bit, pondering his choices. He was taking so long to pick a song that Oikawa left with Suga and Bokuto to grab more drinks and food for everyone and Daichi had excused himself to the bathroom.

With a cheer of victory, Kuroo chose a song. He winked at his small audience before he started to sing, his eyes closing as he lost himself in the song. The remaining members of the group watched in amusement.

Eyes flickering to the closed door of their booth, Akaashi hummed, leaning back in his seat while sipping the drink Oikawa handed to him earlier, asking him to finish it before he left with the other two. "I feel bad for his boyfriend."

Silence fell over the group. Or it would've if Kuroo wasn't currently doing a drunken rendition of an Elvis classic across the karaoke booth.

"His what now?" Atsumu gaped, miraculously being the first to recover from the shock.

"His boyfriend." Akaashi shrugged, speaking as if this news was common knowledge. "We all know he is dating someone. It's pretty obvious how smitten he is, given his song choice."

"Who is he datin'?" Osamu narrowed his eyes at everyone in the group, no one safe from suspicion.

"You seriously don't know?" Akaashi blinked, a small expression of surprise flickering across his face before his features evened once more. "Watch his interactions closely. You'll figure it out."

An understanding settled within the group as they all made eye contact, nodding to one another.

They would figure out who Kuroo is dating, and they would do it before the end of the vacation.
