Chapter 3 - Stupid Blonde is Still Stupid
"Why? Need a kiss?"
I was so ready to turn around and wrestle him to the ground again, but considering that it didn't take me anywhere good last time, I painfully refrained.
"I'll cut off your wings if you say another word," I growled, walking towards the statue.
"Did you want my wings since yours aren't working?" His smug words followed me, "Hey what are you doing?"
"Trying to find clues. I don't want to stay like this forever." I ignored his insult, continuing to look around the base of the fairy statue.
"No use, I've already checked." Jimin breathed out, folding his arms and flying around my head like a pesky fly.
No matter how much I wanted to tell him that he was wrong, I couldn't. Because there was literally nothing peculiar on the statue or around it.
"Well then what now?" I asked, sitting down and sagging my wings unhopeful. My fairy gleam dimming and sparkles glowing darker than usual. It didn't take long for him to fly down next to me, pondering what our next move could be.
"I have an idea!" Jimin let out, "What if we do everything that we did in front of the statue, but the complete opposite!"
Doing the complete opposite would mean instead of falling, we would help each other up.
"That sounds stupid." I rolled my eyes.
"You have a better idea?"
If we wanted to get anywhere, I had to swallow my pride for a mere few seconds, "Fine."
Awkwardly, we laid down on the floor, feeling the dirt stick to our backs and weirdly onto our wings. Yes, I can feel through my wings.
It didn't help when the blonde decided to snuggle closer, putting his hand over my torso the way that we had woken up.
"This is not gonna work." I sighed, feeling my stomach boil with nausea.
"Not with that attitude it's not." He began getting up, grabbing my hand in the process and pulling my weight with him. Our fingers enveloped one another's and suddenly we were standing chest to chest, eyes staring into each other's souls.
"Say it." He whispered.
"Say what?"
"You're last words, but the opposite."
Did I say something? What did I say?
My mind began opening different files and cabinets, searching for my last words.
'PARK JIMIN I HATE YOU.'
That distant memory echoed in my mind and an epiphany blinked on like a light. Bringing me to the conclusion: Do the opposite.
"No. Absolutely not." I pushed myself away, letting go of the breath I had no idea I was holding in.
"OH COME ON!" He threw his hands up, "Can't you just sacrifice your pride for one second so we can go back to normal?"
"I said those words once and I promised myself I would never say them again— there has to be another way."
"Listen, I don't care what boy cheated on you for you to make such a stupid promise to nothing but air. I want to be human again."
I froze. My back turned against him as I searched for the words to say.
"Stupid promise?—" I slowly turned around, "—Nothing but air?" I boiled with anger, comprehending his useless and heartless phrase. "No... YOU listen, if you plan to lose the wings and grow your tiny dick back to its small original size, then I advise you to start getting your sparkles together because according to me and that damn statue, what you're doing is acting inhumane!"
He scoffed, rolling his eyes to the sky and hands on his hips, "OHHH—so now I'm the bad guy? You can't even follow through with a simple idea even amid a literal CRISIS."
"YOU HAVING A TINY DICK IS NOT A CRISIS."
"YOU HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN IT."
"GOD FORBID I DO."
The rage in his throat growled at me like I was some sort of animal. We were an image of a tiger and dragon, snarling sharp teeth at one another and waiting to get our claws around each other's necks while envisioning a bloody mess.
"Y/n," the blonde rasped low, "We have to work together to fix this."
"YOU FIX IT." I yelled back, "You're the reason we're in this mess in the FIRST place!"
A maniacal laugh escaped him, hands moving his hair back as he contemplated everything, "Oh no no no no no no. If you didn't trip me then we wouldn't HAVE this problem!"
"If you didn't STEAL my book then I wouldn't have been chasing you!"
We stepped back from each other, heaving in pure and utter hate. Everything inside of me blared red alarms as my blood boiled just looking at his stupid face. The devil on my shoulder reassured me that it would be hard to prove me guilty if I killed him right here and now.
"You have no idea how much I hate you," I stated, wiping my upper lip and turning around from him.
"I'm glad we finally agree."
A moment of silence followed as his words sunk in. The hot wind whisking by and making me flutter my teary eyes closed. With a new goal in mind, I began walking away, opposite of his direction, and down the rock-layered path that we came from.
"Where are you going?" He called after me.
"To go babysit."
