Chapter 2- The Girl Awakens

-Angel's PoV-

     My eyes widened as I noticed a pair of shining sapphire eyes were watching us play around. I flinched slightly. It was the girl. She was sitting up in the bed with tired eyes staring at us. How could she already be awake?!

Tiger gave me a puzzled look then turned around and froze just like I did. I gulped. I was most likely going to be in trouble. If she had stayed asleep, it would of been fine.

~Um...hi?~ Tiger said dumbfounded. The girl blinked a few times.

"Where am I?" She suddenly asked in a pitiful voice. We both flinched. Tiger turned his head from me to the girl. He clearly had no idea what we were supposed to do.

~You're in a safe place. That is all you need to know~ I finally said in a gentle tone.

"Oh...."

Our eyes widened even more, if that was even possible that is. We weren't expecting her to respond, as far as we were told, humans didn't understand us. I decided to see if that was just her response to not being able to understand us.

~Would you like some berries? I have some orans in here~ I asked softly as I gestured to the bag.

"Yes please, I'm starving," She replied heartily. Her stomach growled as she stared down the bag. "I love orans!" She squealed slightly.

I tilted my head and stared at her. It certainly seems like she understands us. I grabbed the bag and pulled out a plump, blue berry. The girl's eyes widened as she looked at the food. I slowly walked up and placed it on the bed. The girl almost instantly snatched it up and bit into it. Juices dribbling down her dirty chin.

~So uh...where do you come from?~ I asked. Once again quizzing whether she truly understands or not. The girl chewed slowly, as if she was deep in thought. Then shrugged and bit into the fruit again. So she does understand....

Tiger, who has barely moved until now, sat down on his hind-quarters. His rounded ears twitched as he watched the girl.

~Do you have a name?~ He asked. I looked at him for a second then back at the girl. She swallowed the food in her mouth.

"My name? Well....I'm not sure, but everyone called me subject 205," She answered. She gave a sad look before biting into the oran again.

We gave each other strange looks. We have never heard humans being called anything like that.

~Subject 205?~ Tiger muttered to me. I gave the girl a confused look.

~I'm not calling you that. Surely that's not what humans call each other?~ I told her.

The girl finished the berry and wiped some of the juice off her face.

"I don't think they do. Just me and I've also heard them say other names similar to mine. Like they say 'Subject' then different numbers."

I tilted my head. Confused about what the girl was saying. I have never heard of specific humans having strange names like that. Then again, Cobalion, Terrikion, and Virizion kept the humans quite unknown to us. They were the ones that kept this place hidden and us safe with their powers after all.

~So what should I call you then?~ I asked.

The girl shrugged. "Whatever you want. I'm not usually called by a name though."

I tapped by claws on the ground. Then I suddenly got the perfect name.

~How about hope?~

The girl smiled and gave a slight nod.

~Well, Hope, can you walk? And move around?~ I asked hopefully. To my demise she shook her head.

"I'm too tired. Thanks for the food by the way miss Absol and mister growlithe."

~You can just call me Angel, and the growlithe is Tiger. You should get some rest~ I told her.

She smiled and laid down, closing her eyes, "Thank you Angel," she mumbled.

In only a matter of minutes she was passed out. I sighed in relief. She was going to be okay. Atleast I hope so. I walked out of the house and looked up at the sky. We were up all night, and the moon was lowering while the sun started to take over.

Humans aren't that bad....
