The Apology
Moonwatcher and Winter shot after Qibli in the now freezing rain. Moon shivered a little as lighting crackled across the sky, and Winter flew a little closer so that he was able to comfort her a little.
They followed Qibli until they saw the forest. He swiftly flew through the trees and dissapeared in a matter of seconds. Winter dived down and Moon copied that movement, but she was going too fast. She opened her wings and spread them out to their full length, but she hit the ground. She rolled and hit the trunk of a tree, now covered in mud, and her vision was now blurry from the impact.
Moon slowly got to her feet, ignoring the new pain in her head, and listened. She heard talking, or was that yelling? She couldn't tell. She hut her head really hard on the tree. What was going on?
Moon didn't understand a word that was being said between the two dragons because they were yelling so loud, so she pushed them both back with her wings.
"Both of you! Stop it! Your acting like little dragonets!" Moon scolded at the two dragons fighting for her. Winter backed off, but Qibli took a step toward her.
"What was that I saw? Why Winter? Of all dragons, why him?" Qibli said, his words slicing through the air like millions if razors. It made Moon flinch a little, but she did her best to pull herself togeather.
"I don't remember really anything from the past couple of minutes. All I remember is that we started chasing you, but then it's all gone after that. I don't know why I chose Winter. I think I chose him, because I love him!" Moon told Qibli in her strongest voice possible. She didn't like to stand up to people. It always scared her.
"I love you though!" Qibli argued, taking one more step closer. Winter took a threatening step toward the SandWing and he backed up a little.
"But I don't love you that way. It's more like a great friend, or brother for that instance. I'm sorry, Qibli?" Moon said, uncertainty. She didn't really know what was going on. Why was everything so fuzzy?
"Moon?" Winter asked and he touched her shoulder.
"I hit my head on a tree. I've probably lost my memory for a little bit, but it will come back. Qibli, please understand." She begged him and he sighed.
"Only because I don't like to see you begging. That's more me or Winter." He did a lopsided grin at Moon and she laughed a little, intertwining Winters tail with her own. Moonwatcher didn't know what would happen from here, but she knew that she had other dragons on her side.
It would all work out some day.
