King Lophius

Name: King Lophius Ooh, never heard that before

Gender: Male SO MANY MALES AT ONCE!

Age: 16 years old Mmm

Tribe: SeaWing Okie!

Sexuality: Bisexual, but leans towards females Oh, interesting

Appearance: Has a short, slender build, with a thin and long body. Has a long tail and pale, long, frosty blue horns, with deep sapphire-blue scales and pale emerald-green bioluminescent stripes, with the same pale emerald green as the color of his wing membrane and webbing. He has dark, green-blue underscales. Some scales on his face and wings are darker than the rest of his scales, resembling freckles. He has bright green eyes, a sapphire-diamond-silver ring on his right talon, two identical sapphires hanging from his ears, and a massive, healed claw mark on his narrow snout. His front legs have crisscrossing scars from being occasionally scratched by Basslet when she got mad at him. Awww, poor Lophius...But good detail!

Personality: Lophius is self-reliant, independent, and an alert, cautious soul. He's a bit paranoid and has an awful case of anxiety, and it's horribly difficult to calm him down when he's upset or scared or worried, which he quite often is. He's honest, mostly because he knows what it's like to be lied to, and hates the feeling. He's generally super comforting and kind to strangers, mostly because he worries about how high-up the dragons he's talking to are; one of his worst fears is accidentally offending a noble or aristocrat.Lophius tends to be disorganized and "all over the place," with a habit of forgetting things and/or misplacing objects. Lophius is a bit of a coward, running away at the first signs of trouble or danger, and knows this well. He can be expedient, sometimes using others for his own goals or ambitions, though tries not to do it too often (but he'll do it if he "has no other choice.") He sometimes acts stuck-up or pretentious in order to "appeal" to others of higher social class. Very detailed!

Backstory: Lophius grew up as a noble, his mother a trusted commander for Queen Basslet and his father being Basslet's supervisor. Lophius had a good education (at least, for the era) and his family had no problems with the taxes or money handling because of his family's place as hardworking nobles.Despite this, though, Lophius could tell his family wasn't particularly interested in him. Yes, they cared for him, but they ignored his wants and hopes and dreams, and Lophius almost didn't care. After all, he had friends, and his older brother cared enough for him to make up for their parents' lack of love. And, of course, he had Tunicate, his girlfriend. They started out as friends, and then best friends, doing everything together and being kids together. Eventually, though, it became a crush, and Lophius confessed to Tunicate, who returned his feelings and they decided to be together officially. As soon as Lophius was an adult, though, his family started forcing him to go to meetings with Queen Basslet. He wasn't sure why at first; maybe they wanted him to follow in their footsteps. But, no, he soon realized why.His parents started gushing about Lophius as if he was the greatest child in the world; strange behavior for them since they never did that before. If Lophius had been younger, he'd simply soak up the attention, but right now he knew it was too strange behavior. It became clear to him, then, when they kept on being so suggestive towards both Basslet and himself; his parents wanted him and Basslet to get married.Lophius found Basslet to be ugly, gross, and downright evil, and while he was polite and respectful during their meetings, Lophius couldn't imagine spending his life with the witch. Absolutely no way. Also, Basslet was OLD, even he knew that. He wasn't sure how old, nobody knew, but based on the fact that Basslet was queen when his grandmother was a young adult, he could guess that she was insanely old. Didn't stop his parents, though, and when he finally told them (in private) that he didn't want to be with Basslet, they gave him the most disappointed, meanest look he'd ever received from them in his life. His mother started shouting at him, and when he stood his ground, she gave him an ugly claw mark right across his snout. Feeling defeated and downtrodden, Lophius agreed to be Basslet's future husband, right before being locked in his room for a day. Apparently, a week later, without his knowledge, his parents signed a contract with Basslet, agreeing for Lophius and Basslet to be married. His parents firmly told him about the contract only after they signed it and gave it to Basslet, and he freaked out. Three months later, Lophius and Basslet had their public wedding. Lophius hadn't forgotten about Tunicate, though. She was really depressed and confused, and almost refused to speak to Lophius; but then, Lophius convinced her to let him explain. She agreed, and he explained, and at the end of the conversation, they agreed to meet in secret, to still be together. Fast forward a year later, everything is still the same; Lophius is officially king and sometimes is allowed his input in political meetings, he and Basslet are married, and Tunicate is still his secret girlfriend. This day, though, Basslet convinced Lophius to, um, *cough* do the dirty with her in order to have heirs. A few months later, Tunicate confesses that she's expectant, and she's going to lay eggs. Tunicate is nervous and looks like she expects Lophius to command her to smash them when she lays them, but instead, Lophius is overjoyed. When Tunicate lays them, and they hatch, Tunicate and Lophius name them Vaquita, Maelstrom, and Porpoise. Basslet, too, has her own eggs, three of them... but when they hatch and it's discovered only one of them is female, she kills off the other two males and names the female Princess Oyster.  Lophius is horrified at this revelation but tries not to show it. He couldn't handle looking at his daughter, Princess Oyster, and often didn't interact with her.Tunicate herself, while she grew up as a noble, ended up in middle-class due to her known association with Lophius before his and Basslet's marriage. Because of this, she had to deal with crippling taxes, and couldn't care for Vaquita and Maelstrom and Porpoise all at once. Lophius, loving Tunicate and the dragonets they had more than Basslet and Oyster, continuously stole money from Basslet's vaults when she was away or sleeping and gave it to Tunicate and the dragonets. He did this for 7 years, even having another egg with Basslet before she caught him and murdered him for his thievery. THAT. IS. GOOD. Not too tragic, but just interesting enough to be good! AMAZING JOB!

Mate: Queen Basslet, Tunicate Okie!

Crush: N/A Uh huh!

Dragonets:

Princess Oyster/Wave - An average-sized pale green dragon with blueish hints and accents along the wings and tail. 14 years old. Green eyes. Everyone knows her as "Wave" and not many know of her real status as a princess (it's a long story, but essentially, her mother found out she was an animus and tried to erase her memories, THAT didn't work and Oyster decided to make a second [there was already 1 rebellion] rebellion to overthrow her mother). She has a few scars here and there, and is muscular from her battle-training.

Princess Aquamarine (deceased) - Owned by an inactive account (hence why Aquamarine is deceased). "She's a pale blue with her gills being a navy. Her eyes are sea green. She has the royalty waves on her wings, and her talons are white."

Vaquita - Slightly underweight, wiry frame. Strong tail and shoulders. France blue scales with parakeet-green underscales. Sky blue eyes and porcelain-white webbing and accents along her wings and spines, and a few scrapes and scratches. Has been rendered permanently mute ever since Basslet ordered her tongue ripped out. Zircon gemstones embedded between each of her scales.

Maelstrom - Short, weak, unfit build. Parakeet-green scales with chartreuse underscales. Seafoam green eyes and baby blue webbing and baby blue accents along her wings. Medium-sized scar twisting up her wing, another scar twisting from her horn to her ear, another scar twisting from her hind leg to one-third ways down her tail. A cut right above her right eye.

Porpoise (deceased) - Short, underweight, unfit build. Prussian blue scales with shamrock underscales. Clear blue eyes and deep lilac webbing and highlights along her claws, horns, and wings. A twirling ring around her tail. Very detailed!

Occupation: Noble (formerly), Court Member (formerly), King (before he died) Hmmm, okie!

Other:It is worth noting that Basslet has been alive for so long because she's an animus and she enchanted herself to never age (didn't help with her ugly appearance, though).Lophius's name reasoning: Members of the genus Lophius, also sometimes called monkfish, fishing-frogs, frog-fish, and sea-devils, are various species of lophiid anglerfishes found in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. It has been 8 years since his death. Wow, that's cool!

So I would give this one-of-a-kind king a 9.8/10. He is detailed, interesting, and seems like the character that I would love to meet. Ultimately, AMAZING JOB!
