Residence: The Kingdom of Sand; mainly, the Scorpion Den

Huh. A RainWing in the scorpion den. Seems weird to me, but ok

Appearance: Pygmy is a very small, whip-thin dragon, undersized even for RainWings and named for the smallest birds in the rainforest. She has difficulty using her scales to turn bright colors (explained in backstory) and can usually only manage muted tones; her typical colors are a dark blue-grey with lighter markings. Pygmy's eyes are a very dark grey, almost black. Her ears are larger than normal and more leaf-shaped and are a bit ragged at the edges. She wears a band of obsidian around her neck.

Alright! I see a lot of people describe their OCs as very small for some reason. But this is good— I love the detail about her ears. The color thing is original, and I love the reason that you give for her name!

Personality: Because of her size and backstory, Pygmy is easily frightened and usually avoids dragons, even of her own tribe. She can be aggressive when approached and will usually either hide or try to drive whoever it is off by being cold and distant. Like most RainWings, she needs more sleep than the average dragon, but avoids suntime because she doesn't like the idea of being vulnerable to other dragons. However, with her very few friends she does her best to help and support them however she can, even though she often comes off as cranky and irritable even to them. She's a good listener and gives good, if morally ambiguous, advice.

Huh, alright. It's good that her backstory has affected her personality, that's something that some people tend to leave out. This is a pretty normal personality for RainWings, but it makes sense considering the fact that she grew up on the volcano. She kind of reminds me of Glory; the cranky personality and the growing up away from the Tribe bit.

Family: Unknown, considering the RainWing system, but counts Dreamseeker the NightWing as her family

Backstory: Pygmy's egg was stolen by NightWing scientists near the end of the experiments on RainWings. She grew up in the volcano, constantly afraid and without the proper conditions needed to be healthy. As there were few colors other than blacks, greys, and smoggy browns, she was never able to practice transforming into bright RainWing-like colors and even now struggles with it. The lack of sunlight, fruit, and sleep resulted in stunting her growth and development. One of the NightWing scientist assistants, Dreamseeker, discovered the horrible things being done to the RainWings and helped Pygmy and those who'd survived escape. Once in the rainforest, Dreamseeker took care of Pygmy and essentially raised her, often having to help her through several PTSD-like panic attacks from being around other NightWings. Once Pygmy was fully grown, she and Dreamseeker left to the Sand Kingdom, where they became merchants of treasure and herbs grown by Pygmy. Dreamseeker eventually married her SandWing girlfriend and Pygmy met and fell in love with a SandWing prince.

An alright backstory... I like that growing up on the volcano stunted her growth, it makes a lot of sense. But I've seen so many different OCs that were RainWings captured by the NightWings, it gets annoying sometimes seeing the same basic plot over and over. I also have some questions. Why did the NightWings steal her egg exactly? I don't think they ever took eggs, just kidnapped dragons. Was there something specific they wanted to do with her? Like, some sort of experiment involving an egg or young dragonet? And why did she and Dreamseeker go to the Sand Kingdom? It seems weird. You'd think that a RainWing who had been deprived of sunlight her whole life would be very happy to return to the Rainforest. Is it because the NightWings were there? Then why did they go to the Kingdom of Sand specifically?

Other: Pygmy has a similar condition to autism and stims by chewing on her talons and rocking back and forth. //Pygmy is a WIP, thank you so much for the help!

She's pretty good for a WIP! The personality and appearance are well developed and work well with her backstory. I've never seen a WoF OC with autism before, that's awesome!

Overall
I give Pygmy a 7/10. Like I just said, the personality and appearance are nice. The backstory is where she needs work. I think you should elaborate on why exactly the NightWings took her as an egg. Perhaps they wanted to see how a RainWing would live outside of the Rainforest, and the effects that it would have on their growth and stuff? Not only would something like that make her backstory make more sense, but it would also give it a bit more originality. Otherwise, she's a pretty good OC!
