Squirrel knew she was odd. She was too small and had blue eyes. Her mother always told her legends about dragonets bringing everyone peace.

'I know that it won't be me!' Squirrel thought. 'I'm not important'

She studied every day. About every other dragon tribe. But ForestWings were the only important ones, or so Squirrel thought.

Squirrel had many scrolls about things she didn't even like. Her mother, Cardinal got them for her. 'What a waste.' She thought.

A large ForestWing landed in her room with a thud.

"What, Bear?" Squirrel asked.

"We need you." Bear said. "We can't get anyone to meet the GemWings with us. Queen Emerald needs to talk to all the tribes."

It seemed a little suspicious, but she agreed. There were ten dragons coming, not including Queen Woodpecker. When they arrived, they were put around a long table with all the other tribes around it.

"I have an announcement!" Queen Emerald said. "Some of my subjects have gone missing. We think that someone killed them for their scales!"

"It was the ForestWings!" A DeathWing roared. "Our spies found that they have recently gotten more treasure!"

"If your spies were any good," Queen Woodpecker said, "You would know that we dug them up ourselves!"

"Lies!" The DeathWing roared. Without warning, Queen Emerald flew over and snapped the queen's neck.

'Good thing her only heir, Tulip, was at home,' Squirrel thought.

The GemWing queen lunged after more ForestWings as Squirrel escaped.

A odd GemWing grabbed Squirrel by the leg and pulled her to the ground. "DON'T KILL ME! PLEASE!" Squirrel cried.

"Quiet!" The GemWing whispered. "I'm Onyx, I need you!"

"Why?" Squirrel asked.

"I will tell you later," Onyx said, looking up at the sky full of GemWings. "Follow me."
