"Hi" Arrow said.She was quite unsure of how to take in these newcomers. Of course Arrow learned battle lessons from her dad Deathbringer and venom shooting lessons from one of the stupid rainwings, Arrow was pretty sure his name was Mango or was it Mangroove? Well, whoever it was he was stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid like all the lazy old rainwings here, well maybe not some like Glory and a couple of others, but most don't know anything about war or fighting or anything important in life, it's kind of sad. Luckily everyone else seemed just as unsure about everyone as Arrow was, well at least she wasn't alone on this. If only she could find out more mhhhh, wait! Why hadn't she remembered; reading minds! she could sort of turn it on and off and Moon, oh how Arrow loves Moon. Moon had been teaching her how to keep it away because it was bad but... even though she respected Moon's judgement she still enjoyed reading minds, it was just interesting.

"Now concentrate" Arrow thought and just like that she heard the nearest dragonets thoughts; "Oh, oh, oh no what if they don't like me! what if I hurt someone! oh, oh, noooooo."

Okay a little dramatic thought Arrow. Okay thats Char, she had just learned that earlier from her excited mother flapping around waiting impatiently for her family to arrive.

Next Flare mhhh, wait she heard her own thoughts reflect back on her and got a short splitting headache before she quickly turned off her powers. "She's a mind reader also" thought Arrow, shoot. She shot Flare a glare so fierce she had to blink to avoid wincing "ha" she thought hoping that Flare could hear her.

"Allright" Glory announced, "that's everyone, right?"

"alright there's Clay, Peril and their son Char, Sunny, Starflight, Tshnami, Riptide, Unklet, Moon, Winter and their daughter, Flare."

"Good."

"Let's get started now" said Glory.

"HEY" roared Tshnami for it looked like no apparent reason.

"When did you become the boss of things around here, hmm?"

"When I became queen around here" Glory shot back smoothly.

"Well that still doesn't make you queen of the family reunion, now does it." snarled Tshnami.

But before she could say anything else Clay interfered "Come on guys please don't continue the bickering! This should be a peaceful event"

And he whispered under his breath "not with the dragonets around."

although Arrow could hear perfectly fine.

During all of this Peril was nodding vigorously at what Clay was saying obviously being careful not to set anything on fire.

What a strange dragon Arrow thought; giving everything for love when she could continue to be dangerous?!

"Let's get on with this" moaned Tshnami.

"Alright everyone sit down" ordered Glory, gesturing to the wooden table up in the royal pavilion.

Everyone obeyed including Arrow surprisingly since she usually would not take orders from anyone. Then Arrow realized there was one empty seat, and as she looked down and Arrow saw that Peril was sitting on a stone down below glumly twisting her tail.

"Oh" exclaimed Glory "I forgot, sorry Peril" and with a flick of her tail she had moved a stone chair right next to Clay where Peril was to sit.

Peril flew up with one beat of her massive wings and sat down in her stone chair, obviously happy to be sitting with Clay.

"Here we are" said Glory as six rainwings came in carrying an assortment of fish, fruit and all types of meat Arrow couldn't name being from the rainforest and all. They must've made something special for our guests thought Arrow happily, at least now she'd have some more options of food she liked for a whole week while her family visited.

As everyone hungrily dug in Glory announced, "all the dragonets don't really know anyone because they have just met so I say we should go around the table and introduce ourselves."

"I'll start" Glory said.

"Hi as you all probably know my name is Glory I'm a rainwing and my favorite food is fruit. I was one of the dragonets from the dragonet prophecy, and went through a lot to change things to the way they are now and will keep them that way. Now that I've settled down I've married Deathbringer and five years ago on the brightest night I had my lovely daughter, Arrow."

"Who would like to go next." Glory said sweetly once she was finished.

"I would absolutely love to" Tshnami said mocking Glory's tone. "But first I wanted to say, what happened to you in the past couple of years?" "Because three moons you've changed."

There was no reply.

Could Arrow's mom actually once have been sassy? Cause she's sure not sassy now, man she wanted a talk with Tshnami to find out what else she didn't know about her mother!

Well only one way to find out, mind reading!

Concentrate thought Arrow and again almost instantly she heard Tshnami thoughts.

UH why is this taking so long??? I know I used to complain about Glory but this is even worse, I just want to go back home to my nice cool water and get out of this muggy rainforest. And why in the first place had they even decided they were going to have their family reunion here. UHHHHHHHHHHHG!!!

"Honey, can you hear me it's your turn, sweet heart you're after Clay."

"Wait what" replied Arrow utterly confused.

Oh no I must've gotten too caught up in my mind reading Arrow thought.

"I said dear you have to say something about yourself, it's your turn now." Glory said obviously annoyed.

"Sorry" mumbled Arrow. But thankfully this shot a burst of anger and adrenaline through Arrow that showed red and gold on her scales. And when she got angry she could talk all right.

"My name is Arrow, I'm a hybrid mix of a nightwing and a rainwing. I can change the color of my scales, shoot venom and I'm not sure if I can tell the future or not."

Moon had warned Arrow against telling people she had powers because it would make some dragons hate you, also Moon didn't mention this but in battle it's better if your opponent is unprepared, than he/she knows doesn't what they are up against.

"Lovely sweetheart" said Glory, "now it's Flare's turn", take it away girl."

Flare seemed just as inattentive as Arrow was because it took her a couple seconds before Glory made the "ahm" noise and Flare got the memo.

"Uh hi?" said Flare but it was more of a question as if she was doing the right thing.

Moon gave her daughter a reassuring nudge to the shoulder, this seemed to get Flare to her senses. And then she was off blabbering on and on about how she was a nightwing/icewing mix and like Arrow, left out the part about reading minds.

"Excellent" Glory said with a nod "Moonwatcher"

"Oh I'm fine" said Moon "you can skip me and Winter; all we need to say is Flare is our daughter and it's obvious what tribes we are from."

"Wew" said Tsunami with a yawn, "cause I'm beat from the flight, awesome seawings like me aren't supposed to be flying that much."

"Me too" almost everyone at the table agreed.

"Alright" huffed Glory "we will only do the new dragonets then." Arrow could tell she was mad that her "big plan" wasn't a hit.

"That leaves Char" said Sunny happily. It was surprising to hear her voice since she had been very quiet during the whole dinner.

Char sighed, "okay hey my name is char and I'm a mudwing/skywing mix"

Char said so fast it took a couple seconds for it to register in Arrow's brain.

"I didn't get that" Tsunami said "start over slowly and please a little more detail."

"O K A Y" Char said so slowly it sounded like he was a newly hatched dragonet trying to figure out how to speak. Everyone started laughing except Arrows whose face stayed as still as a stone.

"Continue" said Glory as the laughing had started to die down.

"My name is Char" Char said, this time more confident and with less of a quiver in the tone of his voice. "I am a mix of a mudwing and a skywing. I have thick armored protective scales and they are fire proof, because even though I can turn it on and off I still have fire scales like my mother."

You could tell Char wasn't finished but he couldn't because everyone just let out a huge gasp, everyone except Peril and Clay of course.

"You couldn't have told us this before I let him enter my rainforest!" shrieked Glory.

"I thought it didn't matter," replied Clay "you let Peril in."

"But I know Peril wouldn't hurt anyone, but how am I supposed to know he wouldn't?" Glory snarled, pointing a claw at Char.

Char looked heartbroken, the smile that was at his lips when he was talking was wiped off his face and immediately replaced with an insane looking desperate face looking for anyone who liked him and his power.

"CALM DOWN!!!" yelled Sunny. This took everyone by surprise. Since when did Sunny yell?

"Thank you" Sunny said, as if nothing happened at all, "I trust Clay and so do all of the rest of us, do you think he would put any of us in danger?" None of them answered. "I'll take that as a no then" Sunny said happily as she did a fake yawn. "I don't know about everyone else but I'm beat Sunny said, Glory could you show us our rooms.

"Sure" Glory said still shocked by Sunny's boldness. "Coconut is coming to take you and Starflight to your hammocks is that okay if you have to share a room?"

"That'd be wonderful" Starflight said before Sunny could answer.

"Still got that crush eh Starflight" Glory murmured in his direction but again Arrow could hear perfectly fine. "And Arrow dear you will share your sleeping corridors with Flare, Char and Auklet." said Glory.

"This way" Arrow called to the other dragonets taking flight before her mother could talk again. She looked back to find them following her.

This was going to be very annoying having to share her sleeping corridors with her well who knows how they were related.

She looked behind her to find that everyone was huffing and puffing to keep up because they didn't live in the rainforest so they couldn't maneuver as well as she could and most of them weren't as strong as Arrow was.

Arrow sighed as she did a fast maneuver in the air to meet them. "It's not to far from here" Arrow called.

Relief was spreading over all their faces.

Soon enough the sleepy dragonets were swooping down onto a majestic platform decorated with all kinds of flowers and vines. In the middle was a sparkling pool of water with a water fountain gurgling inside.

"Oh" exclaimed Auklet "this is the most beautiful place ever, it sure is fit for the rainwing princess. Arrow would you mind if I sleep in the water?"

"Sure" replied Arrow, "make yourself at home"

"Awesome" said Auklet jumping gracefully down into the pool.

"Mudwing, follow me" said Arrow watching Char as he looked at his feet in shame. She led him down a wooden chamber that led to a stone room with a dirt bottom. She splashed some water down there so it was mud.

"You will sleep here, I would not like my corridors in flame so you will stay here till I get you because also it may be disturbing to my other guests." Arrow let that last word hang in the air to show he wasn't welcome.

Arrow started out sliding a boulder between her and Char on the way. When she entered her lovely room she found flare stalking uncomfortably around the room.

"Anything I can do to make it better for you?" Arrow said

"No Flare said "just show me where to sleep."

"Okay right here" Arrow said gesturing her wing up to up to a wooden platform with comfortable moss to sleep on.

"Thanks" Flare said obviously disappointed there was no ice or soft snow to sleep on.

"I guess I should sleep too" said Arrow, and with one flap of her enormous wings she was up in the most beautiful thing in the room; a hammock made out of all different kinds of flowers. And just a couple flaps away was a gigantic chandelier made of a many huge jars of fireflies twinkling around. Just like magic when Arrow said "goodnight" they all went out except one which was just barely enough to make out the outline of the other dragonets.

After about thirty seconds Arrow could hear Us Let's breathing slow down and Arrow new she was asleep. Either Flare had better senses than Auklet or just was to uncomfortable to sleep. Arrow could she her silver eyes darting around the room.

And Arrow well it wasn't that she was afraid of the other dragonets, not even a full grown dragon could beat her in a fight it was just Arrow was part nightwing and never really slept a lot in general so Arrow was wide awake for a while just laying there watching the stars until she slowly fell asleep...

Arrow and the other dragonets in her room where flapping happily and then there was a flash of blue and out of nowhere came in a hurricane throwing all the dragonets around even Char and Arrow. Then they all went strait down under the water clawing for air our Booklet to help them but she was just as helpless yes she could at least breath but she had no control over where to move. No she was getting pulled further, further, further into blackness when splash! Flare had jumped into Arrow's pool of water waking Arrow up.

"I'm so sorry" exclaimed Flare I wasn't trying to wake you I was just trying to cool off cause three moons it's hot here!"

"Oh that's fine" said Arrow pleasantly trying to shake off her worries from that dream, "any room in there for me?"

"Plenty" said Auklet popping up from under the water creating a fountain of her own by spitting the water out of her mouth. "It's your spring anyway."

"Thanks" said Arrow forcing a smile on her face as she jumped into the pool. Even though Auklet seemed a bit to happy and Flare Just confusing, Arrow had a feeling that she had never felt before, it was warm and happy. Then she figured out what it was, friendship. As Arrow was scolding herself for thinking she might be friends with anyone suddenly her mind reading went out of control and Arrow heard terrible thoughts screaming into her brain, rattling her making Arrow flinch from the sudden noise.

I gotta get out of here, they are imprisoning me, Let me out now! I need to get out. Arrow you let me out, yes I know your secret and I'm sure you wouldn't want the other rainwings to know.

"Are you alright!" Auklet said sounding alarmed.

Then Arrow realized she had her claws on her head in the most un-warrior like way possible. "I'm fine" Arrow side trying not to give anything away with her voice. "Just got to go check on something, be right back"

Arrow could tell that Auklet wasn't convinced "If it's no big deal than I'm going with you" Auklet side in a surprisingly sophisticated way. But Auklet was to late because Arrow had already whisked out of the room like an arrow. The way she went was impossible to know because her scales had turned a dark green blending in perfectly with the rest of the rainforest.

Arrow looped in the direction of Char's cave and got prepared for a good fight. But as surprising as it seemed Char didn't look like he wanted to fight he looked like he wanted a friend, lonely. Lucky Arrow wasn't the kind to be sympathetic because any other dragon instantly would have felt bad for the dragonet. "What is it she snarled, and where did you get information like that from!?"

"Oh, so Now you want to talk?" Char said obviously trying hard in an ineffective way to sound strong.

"Yes I do want to talk" Arrow said "About important things like how in the world of phyirra do you know I can read minds?, because you'd better keep it a secret unless you want to not have to because I could easily rip out your throat."

"Not unless I turn my fire scales on though." Char said "Ever thought about that rainwing?"

"Fine I have a deal then" Arrow said blazing with anger, "you lonely little thing can stay with me only if you don't turn on your firescales and we can all live happily ever after."

Char definitely had some Clay in him because he instantly said "Deal" as soon as the words were out of Arrow's mouth.

"Shall we go then" Arrow said still with a little anger in her voice, "I have some guests waiting." Arrow didn't wait for an answer and was already gracefully swooping around trees despite her huge wingspan, heading in the direction of her quarters.
