The school bus

Hey everyoneeeeee
I cannot even believe how close this book is to 10k! I never thought it would get this far, and I am so so so so so grateful for all of you and the support you show! Everytime I get a new wattpad notification I just go: 😆
Anyways...

Turtle was terrified of going to the office. To be fair, he was also terrified of bugs, needles, clowns, and pretty much everything else, so it wasn't uncommon for him to feel this nervous. He fidgeted with the bracelet on his arm and tried to push all the anxious thoughts out of his head, along with the melody of 'meet me inside', which somehow matched perfectly with this situation but certainly wasn't helping him keep his mind off the impending doom.

He heard the door handle click and looked up to see three people walk in. One one was simply frowning, one was barely keeping her cool, and the other one was screaming hysterically. "I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS PLACE! I told mother to put me in a private school, but she didn't listen! And by now, my earring has probably been stolen by some dirty peasant! How dare you delay me-THERE SHOULD BE A SEARCH PARTY!" Complained Anemone.

She plopped down on the seat to Turtle's left, crossing her arms. Anemone was wearing lilac colored flare pants, a Chanel choker necklace, and a pink crop top-which confused Turtle because it was January. in New Jersey! He could not imagine someone willingly letting themselves be cold for the sake of fashion. His older sister, Tsunami, sat down on the other seat, leaning backwards comfortably and propping her feet up on Principal Thorn's desk.

"Tsunami, please put your feet down," sighed Thorn. "I know you get in trouble a lot but you still don't live here." The principal sat down, looking at them all patiently. But there was something else in her expression. Worry? Confusion? Turtle suddenly felt uneasy.

"Well, there isn't much to say, but I got a phone call from you mother, that said to get home immediately. She said it's an emergency..." Thorn trailed off, leaving them in silence, until Anemone suddenly broke the spell. "WHATEVER IT IS, MY EARRING IS MORE IMPORTANT!" She declared. "Anemone, this is serious," snapped Turtle. The pink haired girl turned back to the principal. "Well, how are we going to get home then? Is mom going to call the chauffer?" She asked.

Thorn shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I think you'll have to take...

...the school bus."

"This is undoubtedly the filthiest place I have ever been to!" Complained Anemone as she walked down the school bus isle. She clutched her Louis Vuitton bag close to her chest, looking at everyone else on the bus in disgust. Turtle rolled his eyes, but wasn't sure if he actually disagreed with her. He didn't like this bus either-the seats all looked incredibly claustrophobic, and the grime on the ceiling wasn't particularly pleasant either. But of course, he was far to anxious to care.

"Move aside! I'm rich!" Anemone called. But no one cared, of course. Turtle and his sister probably wouldn't have even found somewhere to sit in the first place if it weren't for Tsunami. She guided them to the back of the bus, where the three of them were smooshed together in one seat. Anemone tapped Turtle on the shoulder frantically and motioned to the heel of one of her costly shoes, which had a wad of gum stuck to it, then she launched into a rant about how much nicer private school transportation would have been.

This is going to be a long bus ride...he thought.

Okay, finally! It took so many rewrites to do this part, and even though I'm exhausted, I'm gonna start on the next one right now. Also, prepare yourselves, because an emotional chapter is next...
