New Year's : part 1

A chapter with two different points of view! BTW Starflight isn't blind in this.

Glory hung the last strand of shiny streamers from the ceiling, and stepped back to look at her display, making sure everything was perfect. It was new year's eve and both of her parents were out of town. Even though Glory didn't often host parties, or go to them for that matter, she was one of the most popular seniors at Pyrrhia high, and an opportunity like this was too good to pass up.

She took a quick look at all the rooms-her guests would be arriving any minute now. The foyer was adorned with gold streamers and a big happy new year banner hung from the archway. Glory remembered how Kinkajou pestered her to add more decorations and glitter. She couldn't do that though, because it would be nearly impossible to clean up before her parents got back. Of course, she hadn't told Kinkajou that - Glory's younger sister still thought they had permission to throw a new year's party. Ha.

A ring at the doorbell of the penthouse interrupted her train of thought. Glory straitened her green dress and pulled open the door. Let the party begin.

Starflight did not go to parties. They probably ranked around #3 on Starflight's list of the scariest things ever, surpassed only by spiders and people who don't like reading. But when Glory told him she was having a party, he actually considered going for once. She was his friend, after all. Plus, Glory said it would only be a small, inner circle get together-no socializing involved.

Unfortunately, that was lie. Glory had (quite literally) invited the whole school. And even worse, it was a new year's celebration, meaning that people would be doing the midnight kiss, a tradition among people to kiss when the clock strikes 12 on December 31st. So, that decided it. No party.

But the universe apparently had other plans. He had barely taken a seat on the living room sofa and taken out the remote to watch 'cosmos' when his sister, Fierceteeth walked in. She had a nose piercing, straight black hair, and dark lipstick. She was going through her "rebellious phase" as his father would put it. But Starflight really didn't like this "phase". Fierceteeth had always been a little reckless, but ever since their mother died from cancer, she started hanging out with the wrong crowd - they would often get into trouble just for fun, like spray painting houses and keying random cars. Once, Fierceteeth's boyfriend convinced her to rob a gas station store with him. They stole a single pack of oreos and then went to the police station to brag about it. In Starflight's opinion, his sister's boyfriend wasn't as clever as he thought-and definitely not a good influence.

"The gang is coming over, so you better be quiet" she said to her brother, passing by. Starflight sighed. He was not about to stay here while Fierceteeth's friends made a mess. He had done it before and he always ended up getting picked on, even if he stayed out of the way. Perhaps Glory's party was worth a go after all...

Sorry for not updating in a while, online school just has my schedule messed up lol
