Now, on with the chapter!
Tsunami Waters was a popular girl, almost every single student attending Jade Mountain High knew Tsunami. At times she was kind of rude, but that usually only happened when someone was hurting her friends. Of course, she wasn't excited for school, she was NEVER excited for school, but at least she could see Riptide... wait, what was she thinking, SHE WAS DEFINITELY NOT EXCITED TO SEE RIPTIDE. End of conversation. He was just a... friend. Nothing else.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tsunami woke up to the annoying sound of her siblings yelling at each other, she flipped onto her back and sat up. She glanced at her clock and gasped, it was already 7:50 am! "Oh no! I must have forgotten to set my alarm properly last night" Tsunami thought as she hurried around the room, trying to prepare. But, it was harder than you would expect, Tsunami's room was full of clutter and random things that she found on the beach.
She hurried into the bathroom connected to her room and quickly took a short shower, brushed her teeth, applied a thin layer of lipgloss, and ran down the stairs to the kitchen.
Tsunami grabbed a granola bar for breakfast and ran out the back door to her car (yes she has a driver's license in this AU, she's 16). Usually, she would drive her brother Turtle, and her sister Anemone, but that morning her mother Coral was going to drive her siblings, including Turtle, Anemone, and her youngest sister Auklet, to school.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As Tsunami parked her car in the school parking lot, she remembered that she forgot her math homework that was due today.
"Ugh, come on." Tsunami thought out loud, she knew that her math teacher Mrs. Moorhen would not be pleased.
She hurried into her class just after the second bell had rung.
"Miss Waters, you are late, again, it's the 3rd time and school has just begun for the year. Detention after school today," Mr. Webs muttered as she took a seat.
"Yes, Mr. Webs, I won't be late again." Tsunami said out loud, but in her head, she thought, "Uh huh, I won't be late again... until tomorrow."
And so, the rest of her class went on like normal. Mr. Webs droned on and on about the importance of learning and efficiency and self-motivation and concentration and persever- SNOREEEEE...
Tsunami suddenly woke up to the sound of tapping, "Miss Waters, if you think my class is a time to take a nap, you may go nap in DETENTION. Another week of detention," Mr. Webs said, walking back to the front of the class.
"*Sigh* This is going to be a longgg day."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Ugh, come on people, move along, move along, I NEED TO GET TO LUNCH!!"
Tsunami speed-walked through hallways, trying to avoid trampling on other people's feet, unsuccessfully.
"People really should really watch where they're going!!" Tsunami thought as she opened the cafeteria door, but unfortunately, she wasn't watching where she was going and ended up tripping on someone's foot.
She braced for impact as the floor got closer, and closer... until...
Nothing happened.
It felt like she was... levitating?
Tsunami looked up and saw a familiar face, and realized he was holding her up. She felt her face turn as red as a tomato as she slowly stood back up.
"T-thank you," she stuttered, brushing some nonexistent dust off her pants.
"WHY AM I STUTTERING!?!" she thought.
"Hey, no problem. Soo, I've been wanting to talk to you," Riptide answered as he looked at the floor. (A/N: Imagine that the "Hey" was a friendly "Hey", and not hostile."
*insert awkward pause*
"Uhh... sure!" Tsunami quickly filled in.
"Want to go into the hallway?"
"Sure."
That's when Tsunami realized everyone in the cafeteria had turned their attention to them, like if they were some Blockbuster Movie or something. Seriously, there actually was a kid eating popcorn and drinking soda.
Embarrassed, she turned around and started walking towards the door with Riptide on her heels.
When they got into the hallway, Riptide was fidgeting like crazy.
"So, uhhh... what did you want to ask me?"
"Well... you know... about the Welcome Back Dance?" (A/N: Let's pretend that's the name of the homecoming dance.)
"Yes...?" Tsunami answered. She had a weird feeling in her stomach, like if there were a bunch of butterflies dancing in there, and her heart was all fluttery and weird.
"I-I was, ummm... wondering..."
"What were you wondering?" she asked out of general curiosity and maybe, just maybe something else that she didn't dare say.
"Well... willyougotothedancewithme?"
"Ummm... what did you say? All I heard was dskugaslkdfgasdkfgsue,"
"Ok, so, what I meant to say was, will you go to the dance with me? Even though your mom will probably disapprove? And I'd completely understand if you say no, becau-" Riptide blabbered.
Tsunami didn't wait for him to finish his sentence and literally exploded with happiness and screamed, "YES!", while tackling him in a bear hug.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She was glowing with joy when she finally joined her friends for lunch, who had, of course, seen everything happen. Sunny, Fatespeaker, and Glory (sort of) begged her for details, but, she refused, turning bright red in the process.
Though, afterschool her friends kept asking, and asking, even by text.
Fatespeaker has created new chat
Fatespeaker has changed the name to "Let's bother Tsunami until she tells us the details"
Fatespeaker has added Glory to "Let's bother Tsunami until she tells us the details"
Fatespeaker has added Sunny to "Let's bother Tsunami until she tells us the details"

"*Sigh* Thank goodness Sunny was there to back me up." Tsunami thought as she unlocked her front door.
She walked into the house and someone attacked her from behind!
Then she heard muffled giggling, and her youngest sister, Auklet's voice.
"Thank goodness, it wasn't some real kidnapper," she said to herself and turned around to face Auklet. "You scared me so badly!" Tsunami said, ticking Auklet while lifting her into the air.
"Haha, stop, heehee, tickling, *wheeze*, me," Auklet tried to say as she giggled uncontrollably.
Usually Tsunami would keep on tickling her younger sister, but today she wanted to call Riptide to make plans for the dance.
Giddy with happiness Tsunami rushed upstairs to her room.
Sorry for the late update, I had a major writer's block, and have been pretty busy with school, and a bunch of afterschool activities. I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
